Isn't the Primus song Wynona's Big Brown Beaver? Yes. And it was "Jerry Was a Racecar Driver", Dr. T. my top 3 Primus songs in no particular order have to be 1. Northbound Elephant 2. Jello Time 3. Col. Baker

Offspring- Self Esteem, Gone away , Kids arent alright ,better than fly guy for sure
Faith No More- Last Cup of sorrow and Ashes which got some major aireplay here far far better than Epic
Black sabbath- Children of the grave better song than ironman or paranoid.
Bloodhound Gang: Mope is a thing of art and Along Comes Mary is an actual rock song.
Blur- I wish they never made that song 2 (but congrats on all the money they still get for its overuse). Listen to Boys& Girls or Parklife and thats better music by far.
Metallica- any actual fan of metallica would choose Puppets or Fade to Black over Enter Sandman any day
Pulp- Congrats on the one huge hit with Common People, but listen to the whole His n Hers album and watch it blow peeps out of the water.
Rammstein- Seeman, Engel, Der Meister, Sonne, Ich Tu de weir far better than Du Hast which only sticks in the minds of the public because its easy to sing to. My girlfriend does it everytime it is on and its not even the best lyrical part of the song.
Dire Straits- Tunnel of Love or Romeo & Juilet are works of beauty. But Money for Nothing earned the most cash
Men at Work- Listen to Overkill and not get chills! far better than that trash that is Down Under.
Big Audio Dynamite- E=MC2 far better song than Rush.
Alien Ant Farm- This one is tragic because they will only get remembered for the cover, but Wish & Movies are far better songs, and original to boot.
Outkast- B.O.B is classic, but Hey Ya or Ms Jackson are the most remebered.
Snoop Dogg - Doggy Doggy World is an awesome song, but not as well recieved as his early stuff or the garbage he spits out now.
Jimmy Nail - he wll only be remered for Aint No Doubt ( if even that) his one hit. But Crocodile shoes is a killer.

I like the song Silent Lucidity by Queensryche, but in my opinion it is nowhere near their best song. It is, however, their best known song. I would think "Queen of the Reich" would fit that better.

Not a band, but Ray Parker Jr. "Ghostbusters".
I don't hate the song, but he did some great R&B song that the mainstream know about it, and best known for this movie theme song that is another like his great R&B stuff.

Really? I've never heard any non-Queensryche fans talk about that song. All I ever hear about is "Silent Lucidity", and it's also the only one I see on jukeboxes and stuff that have any Ryche at all.

R.E.M.'s "Shiny Happy People", while far from their worst song, got popular thanks to people who didn't get the song's dripping sarcasm. The band intentionally left it off of their greatest hits albums as a result and don't play it live. That's the one I was thinking of. I don't know why R.E.M are still so precious about it, the crowd would go insane if they played it live. REM is also like that with Sidewinder Sleeps Tonight yet that made it to their Warner Brothers-era greatest hits CD. My nod for the thread would be Kokomo by the Beach Boys. I could easily rhyme off 50 BB songs that I prefer over Kokomo.

Sublime - Date Rape, Pretty much all the band said that they thought that this song was crap and hated it when fans asked for it to played live.

Blind Melon-- No Rain. They hated the fact people misunderstood it and it wasn't a happy song, but rather a song about depression. So they changed up the tone, lopped off some lyrics and did No Rain (Ripped Away), much darker and got the point across a little better. Oh, and not a fan, but I assume Primus and "Veronica's Big Brown Beaver" must fit in here. I don't know a single other tune of theirs. Jerry Was a Racecar Driver and My Name is Mud are bigger songs by Primus IMO. That stupid "Mmmmh Mmmmh" song by Crash Test Dummies is the only song I can think of by them, and it's an incredibly awful song.

I can't say it's their dumbest song, but the Misfits are largely known for "Last Caress," and after a while, it just lost a lot of appeal for me. And apparently some for them as well, as I've heard they haven't been playing it live lately.

What were they mocking, heavy music? They were taking the piss out of grunge and as mentioned before a lot of people who loved the song totally missed the point or were puzzled over the fact that the rest of the band's songs sounded nothing like it. If that's the case then f*** Blur and their weak, bland middle-england drivel. I'd rather listen to a grunge band with some balls than their lame shit.

Misfits were an underground band with no airplay and no hits so I'd say they arent known for any song expect for the ones that people know because Metallica covered them.

Sublime - Date Rape, Pretty much all the band said that they thought that this song was crap and hated it when fans asked for it to played live. What I Got and Santeria got way more airplay than Date Rape so I'd say they are more well known for those 2.

Very few radio stations even played a single Sublime song until after Bradley Nowell died, and considering that Santeria and What I Got had been just released as singles at the time, that's only to be expected.

Closer - by Nine Inch Nails. Instrumentally it's f***ing awesome and while I don't dislike the lyrics, it's a pretty dumb song lyrically. Though, it fits within the context of the albums concept. The worst part is that so many people call the song (and believe the song is titled) "F**k You Like an Animal". Truly an awful song, considering that there are better songs from NiN like this one:

My Dingaling for Chuck Berry I think Roll Over Beethoven, Johnny B Goode, No Particular Place to go and Maybellene are just as well known as My Ding a Ling. You Never Can Tell is pretty well known know after it was used in Pulp Fiction. Although My Ding a Ling is very well known too.

Jimmy Nail - he wll only be remered for Aint No Doubt ( if even that) his one hit. But Crocodile shoes is a killer. Right (rolls sleeves up) I didn't expect to see Jimmy Nail's name in this thread but let's talk about the wonky nosed Geordie warbler. Surely Crocodile Shoes is his most well known song but I'd take Ain't No Doubt over it any day of the week, if only for the pre-chorus. A distant third is the distantly recalled Big River. I remember when Crocodile Shoes came out, me and my mates found it hilarious for some reason. One evening we pranked call directory enquiries from a phonebox and sang Crocodile Shoes down the phone. Crazy days.
