Yeah, they identified him by his last name in the film itself.

Did anybody else really enjoy Ray Stevenson as Volstagg? I saw his name in the credits, then had to check again when I got home, could not believe it was him, he did a great job.

So is it safe to say that wasn't Thor falling to the sky in Hulk?

Saw it last night and was blown away. I never got into Thor but may have to pick up a few comics to understand some of the backstory.

many thank yous just getting back into comics. Many welcomes. The Mighty Thor just launched as well, also by Fraction. Issue 2 will be out soonish. Loki also has his own book, "Journey In To Mystery" which is on issue 600+ but it used to be the Thor book and got renamed when Loki took over as Lead character last issue. The first issue was really good.

I really enjoyed the movie and I was never a huge Thor comic fan (let me rephrase, of the main Marvel characters, Thor is behind Hulk, Spidey, Iron Man, and Daredevil for me) but I thought Hemsworth did a great job portraying Thor's arrogance.
And I enjoyed what they did with Loki. More so because they while they did mention Loki's jealousy of Thor (which is always fun) they focused more on how Loki felt Odin didn't care about him.

So is it safe to say that wasn't Thor falling to the sky in Hulk? The Earth portions of THOR took place in New Mexico, and INCREDIBLE HULK takes place largely in Virginia (except for the early scenes in Brazil). So...yeah, I think it's safe to say.

Anyone else kind of dreading how it looks like Avengers will devote probably an hour to uniting everybody? The only one at the moment in a position to start with the group is Stark, and even he was turned down by them.
Well, only one of the ones who matter anyway. Granted, I'd argue that if you have Iron Man and Thor, the rest of the group is pretty superfluous.

Just came back from seeing Thor and in short I loved every minute of it. I took a date out to see it and much to my surprise she loved it too. As far as I am concerned Hemsworth IS Thor and Hiddleston IS Loki. {Spoiler}The scene after the credits was a bit of a let down in my opinion. I thought the Infinity Gauntlet was supposed to make an appearance in the film? Unless they're saving it for The Avengers.

So yeah, Enjoyed it a lot. I rank them in ascending order Hulk, IM2, Thor, Iron Man at the top of the heap. AVENGERS ASSEMBLE, baby! If you havent, Read Simonson's run, immediately. This was a love letter to old Walt. One question! {Spoiler} Im hearing the Infinity Gauntlet was in the movie. I didnt catch it. Confirm/Deny? it supposedly appears when Destroyer voips the Frost Giants in the armory.

Haven't seen it yet, but I'm going to soon with my dad. He's a Marvel fan, I'm not at all. However, I am an Anthony Hopkins and Stellan Skarsgard fan, so we both win. And, honestly, I'm excited for the movie solely based on the bit in the trailer where Hopkins dramatically points at someone and yells, "HEY!"

{Spoiler}oh
but, what I meant to ask was, is he a living, breathing dude like his brother was on Earth, or just a spirit. (I'd imagine a fall from a Rainbow Bridge to Earth'd pretty much liquidate anyone, so that's why I ask)
Guess I'll have to wait a year or so for the release of "The Avengers" to get my answer Well, presumably he's going to wind up with a physical form one way or other, seeing as how (Avengers spoilers) {Spoiler}He and the Skrulls are the main villains. {Spoiler}Is that confirmed? I was hoping they'd wait before they introduce the Skrulls and bring in maybe Thanos.

After reading all ten pages in the thread, I'm surprised no one mentioned the billboard in the middle of town. You know, the one where the second half of the sentence on it reads "...Journey Into Mystery". Loved it. As far as the kids and their fake Mjolnir's...there used to be a big hammer in the office at work and whenever my coworkers decided to be obnoxious asses and keep banging on the door until I opened it...I grabbed the hammer and threatened to introduce them to Mjolnir. I miss that hammer.
