I think they should've used this as a theme song: (Hey, if Iron Man can have an on the nose Black Sabbath song, why couldn't this one) Aside from "I am Iron Man" it's not really on the nose, the song is about a robot that kills everyone

just saw it. I only had a brief comic phase and haven't picked up a book since 96. Thor was never one to interest me though. I really only went because of the very high rating it got in EW. It was good but the obvious "Branagh" touch on it was a bit distracting for me. just being familiar with his work made it funny for me.
I was proud of myself for picking up on the Hawkeye cameo but had no idea what the box was til I came here. Sorry, I was more of a Spider-Man and X-Men kid.

Just saw the movie. It's not bad, but it wasn't anything really spectacular. I enjoyed the Iron Man films a lot more.

So what's everyone's prediction on what the after credit scene will be in Captain America? {Spoiler}Iron Man 1 had the introduction of Nick Fury, Incredible Hulk had Stark approaching General Ross about the Avengers, Iron Man 2 had Mjölnir, and Thor had the introduction of the cosmic cube/setting Loki up to be one of the main villains. My only minor gripe with Thor was: {Spoiler}There wasn't any incredible feats of strength from him. I'm guessing they're saving that for the Avengers. I'm also assuming we're going to see the return of Jane in the Avengers as well?

I'm thinking the movie will end w/ Cap frozen in ice, and the after movie scene will be him waking up, with Nick Fury saying something along the lines of "Welcome to the 21st century. America needs you again."

I don't think it will end with him being woken up I think they'll save that for the actual Avengers movie. I have a feeling it will more be they find his frozen body/ cryotube depending on how they do it

I saw it and I like the guy who played Thor and I like the costumes and stuff but the story was extremely weak and hackneyed through and through. I've seen better episodes of TV shows than whatever the hell that weak story of a movie was.
I wasn't a huge fan of Iron Man but at least it had a somewhat decent story to it. This one just seemed very very bland. LIke the definition of bland.

the story was very 'fairy tale'-like. but it was cute and Chris helmsworth does a decent job.
i think that he fell in love too easily, but i think that is something that all marvel heroes do. and the coffe cup scene was my favorite.

Pretty damn good movie that reminded me of a Shakespearian story at times (helps that Kenneth Branagh, has some experience with Shakespeare), and got me hyped even more for Captain America in July.

I know I'm late to the party, but I just saw Thor this afternoon.
I am a strict DC guy and what I know about Marvel comes mostly from the movies. I have yet to read anything about Thor, so everything in the movie was completely news to me.
Honestly, I think the comparisons to the first Iron Man movie are pretty apt. This was very well acted and honestly a lot of fun. Between Thor, Loki, the bridge guardian and Odin, dang, there was some good acting in this. The funny moments were not too over the top and I am grateful that everyone approached the material seriously.
Fav. line?: toss up between "I found Meow-meow!" and "I did swear alliegence, I am just not watching you do this." Damn, that guardian was AWESOME as a character.
And yes, I too was a fan of Loki as much as Thor. Gotta love compelling characters.
Bring on Cap and Avengers!
Oh and as long as we're posting Thor songs:

Edit: Shoulda had this when {Spoiler}Thor got his powers back and took down the destroyer Yeah, but the whole gimmick with AC/DC has been done (for both "Iron Man 2" and "Maximum Overdrive," IIRC)
