Which title is Shields holding there? Strikeforce's. He left as their champion. A testament to Strikeforce's negotiating ability. Ah. It's that Shields also was the Elite XC Welterweight champ when the company went under and I thought that they would build up the fight "to find out who's the best welterweight in the world" by showing him up with the welterweight title. Instead, it looks that UFC is going for another "USA vs. the world: Canada Edition" hype with the poster.

I dunno if this is the right place for this question, but in the UFC 2010 game, does your weight class limit which strikes and moves you're allowed to learn?

I dunno either, but I don't think the weight classes have anything to do with your moves, if I remember correctly. I had this huge, fat ass, black version of Roy Nelson that I created... and the game had no problem with me giving him a wide arsenal of flying attacks.

A) The belt is Strikeforce's intellectual property and contained under their image rights. B) The UFC wouldnt acknowledge it on a poster anyway. C) That GSP pose is from the UFC 94 poster vs BJ Penn. It was my Xbox 360 Dashboard screen for a while.

Once you learn a move, you're stuck with it

Also, in my game's career mode, just got to watch Cro Cop turn Kimbo Slice into a living, breathing heavy bag for three rounds. So that was nice.

ZUFFA, LLC FILES LAWSUIT AGAINST JUSTIN.TV FOR COPYRIGHT AND TRADEMARK INFRINGEMENT Las Vegas, Nevada – Zuffa, LLC (“Zuffa”), owner of the Ultimate Fighting Championship® (“UFC®”) brand announced today that it filed a lawsuit against Justin.tv, Inc. (“Justin.tv”) for copyright and trademark infringement in United States District Court for the District of Nevada arising from Justin.tv’s repeated and ongoing failure to meaningfully address the rampant and illegal uploading of video of live Pay-Per-View UFC® events by members and users of the Justin.tv website.
The Justin.tv website enables anyone with an internet connection to broadcast live streaming video to an unlimited audience. Although purportedly developed to bring user-generated content to a large live audience, the Justin.tv website is routinely exploited by users to broadcast illegally uploaded content, including UFC® events.
For example, on October 23, 2010, over 50,000 people watched live streaming feeds of the UFC 121 Pay-Per-View event. Indeed, third-party contractors hired and paid for by Zuffa, removed more than 200 infringing live streams of UFC 121 from the Justin.tv website. This piracy represents a significant loss of revenue to Zuffa and its mobile, online, cable and satellite distribution partners each year.
“Zuffa has attempted to work on numerous occasions with Justin.tv over nearly a two-year period to encourage it to prevent or limit its infringing activities,” Zuffa’s Las Vegas attorney, Donald J. Campbell said. “Regrettably, Justin.tv has not only turned a blind eye to the massive online piracy occurring on its website, we believe it has actually induced its users to commit copyright infringement thus leaving Zuffa no alternative but to take this fight to the courts.”
Zuffa is the largest provider of Pay-Per-View content in the world, and delivers exciting matches to fans in over 354 million households across 145 countries and territories. Zuffa encourages the development of new technology to deliver UFC® content to licensed online platforms, mobile devices, and gaming systems. However, Zuffa does not condone the use of streaming video or other new technologies to violate intellectual property laws, and it will vigorously protect its copyrighted content against piracy in any medium.

They will lose. Just like the NFL, there will always be illegal streaming on the internet. JTV isn't the only site you can stream on. It's the people streaming that are breaking the law, not Justin.

So, couple rumours coming out of the weekend, the first and biggest being that FEG, parent company of DREAM and K-1 is dead in the water. DREAM is all but officially dead, whereas it is expected that someone will come in and take over the K-1 brand name.
And coming out of that, Shinya Aoki has signed, or is about to sign, an exclusive deal with Strikeforce.
Granted, nothing has been officially announced but it's expected to be just a matter of time.
Also, I really don't think this timing is coincidental but, UFC has signed new distribution and TV deals in Japan

Gegard Mousasi is signed with M-1, right? Because if DREAM goes under, he might end up having a permanent stay on Strikeforce. Mousasi/Mayhem or Mousasi/Henderson, anyone?

No, Mousasi is signed with StrikeForce, not M-1. His contract expired last year, and he chose to leave M-1 and sign an extension of his deal with StrikeForce

Sylvia was pretty hurt though. Plus it was fitting with him coming in over 300 lbs. And he looked absolutely hilarious getting knocked out.

So, UFC 129 presale led to over 33,000 tickets being sold already. The presale sold out in about 30 minutes apparently.
I guarantee they end up freeing up more tickets because of this, I'd be shocked if they came in under 50,000
EDIT: Tickets go on sale to the public on Saturday. Good luck to anyone wanting tickets. They're already on ebay at 5X value or more

I just watched this, and it looked like Sylvia trained for that fight by eating pizza. What the hell happened to this guy? Has he fallen downhill so fast, or was the UFC heavyweight division that bad when he was champ?

UFC is going to be INSANE in the Rogers Centre. And GSP will do to Shields what he always does. What? Repeatedly score takedowns, and make no serious attempts whatsoever to cause major damage or finish the fight? Which is also what Shields does. I absolutely HATE the term lay 'n' pray. Hate it. I, myself come from an extensive folk and freestyle wrestling background, and often find mma fighters who use wrestling to cause damage with the ground and pound exciting to watch. However I find both Shields and GSP very dull to watch, and am not looking forward to this fight at all. GSP and Anderson Silva on the other hand could be absolutely golden.
