I mean, Cena's rap was "You talk about loving the fans, I'm here every week to show it". I cant eyeroll enough reading this. The only reason he's there every week is no one in Hollywood who recognizes talent wants him. Thats why the only movie roles he gets are wwe films roles. Hollywood doesnt force The Rock down our throats like wwe films wants you to believe the yabba dabba doo bitch is anything special. The Rock made his own name using his talents which he has and he doesnt need a billion dollar company or whatever they are worth to make you think he is the be all end all. Yeah, because The Rock only needed WWE's backing for his first four movies...

Without the Rock, nobody would care about the WM main event that Cena is headlining yet again. He's trying to give Cena the "Rock v Hogan" rub that Hogan did for Rock, but Rocky needs to play it true heel because as it is the crowd already half hates Cena already. The crowd has half-hated (or 3/4 hated or all hated) Cena for years. Nothing Rock could do will change that. It's not his fault that Cena cried and whined about him for 2 years straight because his boss told him to do it.

Yeah, I gotta say, I was really underwhelmed by the rock. His valid points were mostly just after the fact rationalizations. His comment about 'making it in Hollywood' for the WWE doesn't hold any water. He wasn't the first, and he arguably isn't the best wrestler/actor to hit Hollywood, and his attempts to drop 'the Rock' made it pretty clear he wasn't doing it for them. I'm pretty sure cutting out the Rock had to do more with the fact that using it required studios to list Vince McMahon as a producer. If that were true, then why isn't he listed for most of the movies? They haven't stopped advertising him as the rock, but only the first four movies had WWE producitons as producer, all of which the WWE was heavily involved in production wise.

To be clear here. I'm actually a Rock fan, and I enjoy (most of) his movies. I'm just sorely disappointed by this so far. They might as well have gotten the micheal steel puppet from the daily show and used old recordings of his promos for what he's done so far.

Only thing im waiting for it to be actually brought to point instead of it left to linger , is how hypocritical it is of Cena to bash The Rock.
Cena bashes The Rock for leaving to fulfil something new in his life , yet cena does the samething but is doin it while preaching about bein there prove it etc.
It's like the same exact same arguement on each side of a coin , only difference is one guy chose to do something after wrestling and the other is doin it during..idk where im goin with this but i expect austin to end up having some words in this , because in essence austin and rock are in the same boat..sort of.

He's only a guest host, he was never booked to be a full-time wrestler again. IMHO, him coming back too much would only distract from the other feuds for 'Mania that the WWE is trying to build up. I say limit him to a few appearances every 2 weeks like they've been doing, and announce his live face-to-face with Cena like a week in advance (which they probably just did with his taped promo) so people won't get confused. The Rock is a retired wrestler like Stone Cold and HBK. He's only there to enhance the other Superstars, not overshadow them.

I see it this way.
Cena is preaching he's always there and does this 24/7 for the fans.
Rock says he left because he wanted to do something else but came back because he loves the WWE.
The big difference is this.
How many times during the heyday of "OMG CENA IS CONTROVERSIAL" did Cena say he finds fans who mock him funny, and they can say what they want, instead of trying to please them since he is such a noble super awesome guy?
Also, as of RIGHT NOW Rock is the "Wrestlemania Host". He's not in a match, he hasn't issued a challenge, he's just giving some fan love back, why should he have to fly out to beat someone's ass when logically he's not in any matches. One thing you guys who are hating forget, Rock has said MANY times in his two promos....
"John Cena, Miz, I WILL see you at WM"
He has never said "I'll be LIVE in the RING every week throwing Rock Bottoms till you all die!
And last week? Do you really think that was the Rock saying "Hey don't show me" it was Vince giving time to Cena to build the hype, come on guys.

Why would the Rock be there in person anyway? He's not under contract. His only announced involvement so far is to host Mania. The promo at his home (which was brilliant and brought a little dignity back to wrestling by honoring his lineage) was done on his own free time. Is he supposed to travel from city to city just to trash talk Cena? Is he supposed to be some sort of stalker?

I think that was kind of the point. They had to do something so that Cena would have a decent argument against him so having him not in the building was a good move. I don't think they want Cena to be a heel, the only heel they want is Miz. Sadly, this is why WM will end with a pathetic show of friendship and they'll both stand tall over The Miz. Then we won't see Rock for a long time.
Gotta say though, especially as far as taped promos go, Rock's was FANTASTIC.

Yeah I was there, the crowd booed a lot when Justin Roberts announced during the commercial that Rock would be "via satellite with a special message for the fans of Buffalo!". Then The Rock won just about everyone over, even people who were talking about how Cena was right. Though Cena got in a good jab at the end of the night, after the dark main event. Talking about how Randy Orton was traveling all over the world recently making appearances for WWE and thanked him for "showing up", then thanked the fans for "showing up" and noted it was actually over 16,000 of them, not 14,000, "which someone would have known if they showed up".

What was the dark match? Randy Orton and John Cena vs CM Punk and The Miz (Miz wrestled in his suitpants). Special Guest Referee Micheal Cole. Really really dull match. Cole was naturally high fiving Miz and not counting pins for the faces. Eventually Orton gave Cole a stare and Cole ran away, Orton RKO'ed both Miz and Punk, pinned Punk. Also for whatever reason Miz hightailed it without his belt so Orton posed with it a lot before he left.

And this is coming from a Cena fan as well, but this is so, so much the truth. I like John, but I'm sorry, Rock's league is one he's probably never going to break in to, rapper or not. When Rock is talking and ripping on Cena you see people in Cena shirts in the crowd cheering Rock on. This is a feud Cena can never win. I mean yes, he'll win over some individuals, but if it ever comes down to the face to face confrontation at Mania you know how it's going to go, whether some people like it or not. Those people will verbally tear Cena to bits, and hang on every word Rock says. Cena can make what some people think are great points from now until Wrestlemania 40, it won't matter. He won't win this.

I can not wait until the fans turn on Rock like they did at the Raw tenth anniversary show.
Hopefully we get Hollywood Rock again

The bigger question is "What does the Rock have to prove to Cena?"
Nothing.
Cena went around for years running his mouth about how the Rock is more interested in making movies than wrestling and that he left but Cena would never leave. I'm not sure if that was said on his own or he was asked by McMahon to take shots at the Rock when he could. You can hear it in his promos how annoyed he was by it....especially tonight. The Rock has nothing to prove to Cena...or to us. Who gives a damn if the Rock left for Hollywood. I miss him being in the WWE year round and I know a lot of you do too. (And a lot of you who don't.) He left on his own terms and didn't end up destroying his body like some wrestlers did who couldn't let it go.

I'm honestly just sick of the whole thing. There's about a hundred different things I'd rather see in the in the 'E right now than Cena and Rock yammering back and forth with no real payoff in sight.
