I actually wanted to see Beth Phoenix win the Royal Rumble just to see what would happen.

Anything can happen.
They shouldn't do it just to do it. They should build a woman up to get it.

The bottom post explains it all. Men at the top of the game are physically superior to the women at the top of theirs. And younger men are physically superior to older ones. Yet no one seems to have a problem with Flair winning titles after he hit 40. Big men are physically superior to small men, but its ok for Eddie, Rey and Malenko to beat guys twice their size. Athletes are physically superior to non-althetes yet we have The Miz, Vince McMahon, Arquette and Russo winning world titles. Fixed

McMahon vacated virtually immediately and considering he had matches prior to that and the storyline regarding his win, isnt really an apt comparison. Arquette and Russo were in WCW and over a decade ago. Something like that never happened in WWE.

Someone could have said this, but Kong with Cole as her mouth piece I could buy. This would lead to a face turn for her down the line aswell.

Actually with all the changes WWE is going through I could see it happening, but it won't.

Randy Couture at the age of 44 beat a guy 13 years younger and 30 lbs heavier in his comeback fight to win the UFC HW title. Younger men arent necessarily physically superior. No female fighter has beaten a male one yet. I dont get why people are so eager to see a woman win a world title. Vince Russo, David Arquette and Vince McMahon are often remembered as scars on the legacy of the titles that they won. People by the majority would hate it. And while big men are physically superior, smaller men can have a technical advantage. Eddie Guerrero didnt win the belt by using power moves on Lesnar. I wonder if we have this in tennis forums.

Exactly. Flair was recognised as one of the best if not the best wrestler in the world at one point. Miz isn't. That's not the point, though. Flair was recognized as a great worker, but when you look at him he doesn't look like a tough guy at all. Some people are saying that you have to look believably tough to be a World Champ, and Flair never has. If Flair can become a believable champ through his work instead of his look, why can't a woman as well? Except that you don't need to have a tough guy persona to win in wrestling, you just have to be a great worker, which Flair was. He wasn't on top because he would beat up his opponents, he was champion because he would outwrestle them. Sure it helps to be a big tough looking guy but I can buy that guy being beaten by a guy who, say, isn't as big or strong but is more skilled in the ring.

I think everyones getting too SRS BIZNISS.
If the WWE got behind a good worker and a good athlete that just happens to be a woman, it would be believable if that woman won the WWE or WHC. Wrestling is built on hype, you all seem to be forgetting that.
With that said, the question becomes "Would the WWE get behind a woman as their champion?". And my answer is not in the near future, but things can change.

Chyna could have won it back in her day. In my opinion, she SHOULD have won it.
Maybe Kong could be built up to fight men, but I don't see a female champ in the near future.

The closest we are ever going to get to woman being the World Champion is when Chyna was the No.1 contender for the WWE Championship back in July 99.

Hell, he's almost as big as a lot of his employees; in fact, if I recall correctly, he was physically bigger than Austin. Didn't do him any good, but he had size nonetheless.

It'd have to be someone believable; and so far, no woman has come along yet that would be beyond a novelty win. No one past or present.
Now if one comes along in the future; sure.

It won't happen. Not until Vince is out and HHH comes back in to change things. They don't even let the women and men interact in the ring anymore physically. The last time was Beth Phoenix in the Royal Rumble, but she barely got touched when eliminated. For a woman to become champion, they would have to show a man beating up on her in some part of the match. They won't let this fly in the new WWE.
Michael Cole has a better chance to win the world title than someone like Beth or Kong. Vince has created a very concrete barrier with the women and men wrestling. The women can hit moves on the men sometimes, but the men aren't really allowed to beat up on the women. Last time that happened was the Orton/Stephanie thing.

I could see it happening. It would have to be someone of tremendous size and skill. Kong is the only one that comes to mind...

It should never happen, that would literally bury careers.

It should never happen, that would literally bury careers. Well, not literally. Seeing as a career is a non-corporeal title and thus, is unable to physically be buried under anything. Didn't Gorilla Monsoon do that as a commentator, the whole using "literally" out of context?

well, i seem to recall the visual of nattie body slamming someone back when the Hart Dynasty were a heel team. but for the life of me, i can't remember which team they fought against... She slammed Slam Master J and Jimmy Wang Yang in separate matches.
