This is probably the one subject that I am most curious about. Lets look at things.
Hogan - Vince was able to bury the hatchet with him even after the steroid trial and everything and still bring him back. Sure, Hogan is a money maker in the WWE.
Bret - What needs to be said here? Unlike Hogan, Bret wasnt going to wrestle a match. Yet Bret and Vince both were able to bury the hatchet.
Warrior - Obviously the onus is on him. Theres abundance of rumor that Warrior has turned down the HOF on multiple occasions now and initally the Self Destruction DVD wasnt going to be a burial, but Warrior declined involvement. Its clear that Vince is willing, and Warrior is a nut, so theres that.
These examples (and theres more assuredly) of Vince and/or the talent burying the hatchet and coming back, even if briefly. Macho Man is assuredly deserved of a HOF spot and recognition, but why is he seemingly the only one that hasnt been brought back in some fashion? The Steph rumors? You have to think if Savage messed with Steph in THAT fashion that Vince had done something legally (or otherwise) against him. Him leaving for WCW? This makes the most sense as it also took the Slim Jim money away from WWE and brought it to WCW. Yet, WCW is dead. Bischoff was a member of WWE for a while. Hogan and Bret both brought back. All left for WCW at one time.
I think the story of why Macho Man is seemingly blacklisted from the WWE (although yes, there has been relenting in recent years with the video games and action figures) is very interesting and Id love to hear why neither side will talk about it. Maybe the Steph thing has some sort of legs to it.
Can anyone add anything or have their own hypothesis?

If he did do anything to Stephanie, I'm sure Vince would have murdered him or had him killed.

I guess, best case scenario is they're saving him to make whatever they end up doing together really big and really memorable. At least, I hope that's the case and that there's no truth to any unconscionable rumors.

Kevin Kelly was asked recently and this was his answer:
While I think eventually Savage will get in, I'm still curious as to why he has had to wait so long. Im curious about that story.

Has anyone even asked Macho Man if he wants to come back to TV? He got an action figure, DVD, and he's in the game and commercial for the new WWE All Stars. Doesn't seem like they hate each other to me. They are both obviously making money off the Macho Man character but maybe Randy Poffo is happy being out of the spotlight and doesn't want to return to wrestling. He just got re-married and from recent pics of him, he looks like a happy retired person.

If he did do anything to Stephanie, I'm sure Vince would have murdered him or had him killed. I think that way too, but I also think theres a possibility of that not being the case. Some rumors state she was 13 or 14, but that doesnt make sense. Macho was in the WWE until 1994 and with Liz until 1992 who he was unquestionably devoted to and everything and everybody states that he was basically obsessive over Liz. Stephanie was 18 when Macho left WWE. If something did happen between them and it happened when she was 18, there'd be nothing Vince could do legally. Perhaps it was just decided to part ways. The 13-14 rumors dont make sense, unless it happened then and got out later, but considering how he left for WCW and the circumstances (Macho had a verbal agreement that he was leaving WWE, but wasnt going to go to WCW and then did, taking Slim Jim endorsement with him), its hard to think that wasn't a major factor.

Sure, this is absolutely a possibility, but certainly in the years following WCW's demise he was still involved with wrestling and his name was never mentioned. Plus, a one-off HOF appearances is much deserved and I would think he'd want that just to cement his name. Also with your theory, the guys name is never even rumored for the HOF. Not one peep and when it is brought up to guys in the know, they completely shoot it down (IE Kevin Kelly). Yes, with the game and stuff now its getting easier, but the story of why its taking so long is still interesting.

Has anyone ever asked Lanny Poffo? I would assume he wouldn't answer, or if he did the answer would be out there already ... ??

I throw this up in every thread, but wasn't Savage really close with McMahon?
With Hogan/Bret/Warrior whoever, it was always strictly business, but I remember when Savage left for WCW, Vince was apparantaly devastated that his friend betrayed him.
Or most likely Savage doesn't want to return or Vince doesn't see him as much of a megastar.

I just have one question. Where did the Savage/Steph rumor start? Was it from someone's shoot? Was it a dirtsheet thing? Or is this just something that was started by fans and has taken a life of it's own? People never seem to attack the credibility of the source, they just say whether or not they believe it.

I think Vince is still pissed about that Slim Jim deal going to WCW at the worst possible time. Notice how Slim Jim is sponsoring WWE now and Savage is having action figure and video game appearances?
I could be a coincidence, but man, that's certainly an interesting coincidence.

I always thought that story came out of the end of his run, so she'd be older and maybe even an adult. There's always been some not-so-flattering stories out there about her, of course, it could easily be BS like this probably is. I don't think she was a victim in the story, just that Vince was totally repulsed by it. lol.

Maybe it's just been an issue of timing. Randy apparently hates Hogan, so any time Hogan's been around, bringing in Savage would have been impossible.

Notice how Slim Jim is sponsoring WWE now and Savage is having action figure and video game appearances? I could be a coincidence, but man, that's certainly an interesting coincidence. I've always thought this was the most rational reason, but usually no one will agree with me on that. When Savage left the WWF, they were on a financial downswing, and then in 1995 they would have one of their worst financial years ever. The fact that Savage took Slim Jim's sponsorship meant a lot of money that Vince needed at the time, as we've seen with the Tiegate incident and with Finlay's firing the sponsors mean more than just about anything to Vince. Vince actually made reference to Savage leaving on the Raw after Randy left for WCW, wishing him well, which makes me think that whatever severed their relationship was something that happened in the time Savage had already started in WCW, such as getting Slim Jim as a sponsor for WCW.

And yes to the guy above who mentioned Macho and Vince being tight. Macho's last night in WWE, he was on commentary and Vince is VISIBLY angry when he's giving Macho his goodbye.

maybe the Wrestlemania host thing will catch on and Savage will do it next year. Has anyone ever asked Lanny Poffo? Yep. and all he said was "I wouldn't ask Randy about that" and "If you're a real fan on the internet. You already know" Or something like that 1:50
