...I'm not looking at anyone in particular on this board, but it's when people use the "indy" or previous name of a wrestler. Examples:
Daniel Bryan=Bryan Danielson Evan Bourne=Matt Sydal Sin Cara=Mistico
In the case of DBD (the accepted acronym), we're probably all used to Daniel Bryan by now and it just seems odd to call him "Danielson" after he's spent a year in the WWE. To me, it's like calling Michael Cole "Shawn Coulthard"- if they leave the WWE they can use the old name all they want but IN the WWE it sounds very odd.
Does this peeve anyone else off?

That doesn't bother me as much as when people misspell their names.
It's ZACK Ryder, not ZACH Ryder. It's Randy ORTON, not Randy ORTAN (and this one has been going on long before Orton started turning bronze from all the fake tan). Come on, people.

I don't really care especially for indy guys. It was really hard to get use to calling Matt Sydal and Bryan Danielson by their WWE names.

I'm a big fan of that guy Terra Ryzin. He had a great match at WrestleMania with Mean Mark.

The Danielson one annoys me, I don't see Sydal written all that much. Mostly it's by the people that do it to troll others. There are a couple guys on this forum that do it and it's pretty grating to me, because they simply do it to be obnoxious.

If you thought Michael "Troll" was a bad IWC insult, I find it easy to imagine what Michael Coulthard would be turned into.

Yeah it's a pet peeve of mine too. It's like they think people will be impressed by them and think they're so smart by calling wrestlers by their obscure indy names instead of their more well known name that their actually using currently when really they just come off as annoying.

It doesn’t bother me, it’s natural to call somebody by the name you’re used to, even wrestlers do it. That said the only one I still call by a previous name is Awesome Kong and that doesn’t really count.
Using real names instead of gimmick names does bother me though.

It was just habit for people who watched ROH and his other stuff. It might be some people trolling but I think a lot of people have just been following them for so many years now that it is hard for them to call them anything else. I remember it use to annoy me a year ago when people were calling Danielson by his WWE name. It just didn't sound right. We fear change.

Not so much impressed that they think it makes them stand out as "Real" fans who've been with the guy "the whole way" instead of a "WWE Bandwagon Mark". It's still just as annoying, though.

I agree with the OP, however, people on The 'Crap are a lot better than a lot of other places on the internet. I know the day of Wrestlemania, I saw a headline on another website that said "Bryan Danielson vs. Sheamus O'Shaunessy Dropped From WM27 Card!" That really made me roll my eyes, since it's been over a year since either have gone by either name. Whenever I read something like that I feel like it's someone that is "Too cool for school" and wants to prove that they know more than you.

It's not like FCW is the cool thing in the IWC. lol

Isn't Mistico trademarked by the Mexican organization that he came from?
And Matt Sydal isn't even his real name. He admitted on Colt Cabana's podcast that he was a huge Sabu mark, and since Sabu was homicidal, suicidal, genocidal, he was just Sydal.

I agree with Bomber, I hate when anyone uses a wrestlers real name instead of their ring name. I don't get why anyone would do this, it's so confusing and I sometimes don't even know who they are talking about!

Any sites that refer to Raven as Scott Levy constantly? I know Raven prefers to be called Raven and even refuses to sign for people who call him Scott.

Well, I'd use Cole's real name to distinguish the fact that my hatred for him stems from him being a no-talent hackwit, leeching off of the wrestling business and being Vince's point-man for the destruction of real wrestling commentary.

I don't see what the big deal is. In Bryan's case, it's tripped up half the people that mention him on live TV, so it was a pretty dumb name change.
As for Cole's name getting dropped, that NXT video where the "Virus system update" breaks into a match, right before that, Josh drops Cole's wife's name in a joke (that he botched) and then Cole drops Trips' name. "Our friend Paul must have given that to you". lol. So I guess they're too smarky for their own good too.
