Do not read if you don't want to have any chance of being spoiled. {Spoiler}Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter
Due to the retirement of Edge leaving SmackDown! in dire need of a top babyface, Vince McMahon decided to hold the annual WWE Draft next Monday as opposed to a date in June. It was described as a “panic move” as noted earlier here on the website.
WWE officials have discussed moving Alberto Del Rio to RAW during next Monday’s WWE Draft as he is currently penciled to headline SummerSlam against John Cena. It has also been broached for Del Rio to move to the brand as World Heavyweight Champion, with The Miz, as WWE Champion, heading to SmackDown!.
Thoughts? I dunno. I like Miz on Raw. He is one of the main reasons I watch. Him and Punk are currently, in my mind, the best two promo men the company has, so sending one (or even both) to the taped show seems like a waste. I don't know why they would have Miz go over Cena at Mania and then send him to a show where there is no top face to actually face him. Christian/Miz could be a great feud, but after that? Del Rio on Raw could be interesting. Del Rio vs. Cena could be an entertaining feud. Orton/ADR would probably also happen, but just seems a dud to me. I think the smarter move would just send Orton to Smackdown. No way they would send Miz and Orton, so it has to be one or the other.

I don't like it. They should both stay where they are IMO.

Wait... so if Smackdown is in a major need for a top babyface... Why would they swap the two heels around?

Wait... so if Smackdown is in a major need for a top babyface... Why would they swap the two heels around? Obviously because that way... Well yeah, you'd be able to... It makes perfect sense, since you could... I've got nothing.

Obviously this is the return of Miz, the face Friday Night Smackdown host, screaming HOORAH over and over.

{Spoiler}Might as well. I say let Raw be the Cena and Orton show while guys like Punk, Miz, Christian, Morrison, Rio, and Cara can be on Smackdown away from Cena, Orton, and Hunter honestly. But we all know the results in the end though should the switch happen.

Wait... so if Smackdown is in a major need for a top babyface... Why would they swap the two heels around? When you put it like that, it sounds hilarious. To put an optimistic slant on it, that could possibly mean the elevation of one of their upper-midcard/midcard faces like Christian or Kofi to the main event level. I highly doubt it, but ... you never know.

{Spoiler}Does this mean Christian's not gonna win at Extreme Rules?

Wait... so if Smackdown is in a major need for a top babyface... Why would they swap the two heels around? I presume they would draft other people as well. I'm going to go on the assumption that the news report is right. Firstly, if Miz gets drafted then it seems kind of pointless to have him built up for months and months on Raw only to send him over to the 'B' show. Whilst he could feud with Mysterio and Christian, it also means he can potentially get squashed by Kane and Big Show. Secondly, this will mean that ABR beats Christian at Extreme Rules which sucks in my opinion. It would've been fun to see Christian finally as world champion. I suppose he would feud with Miz for the WWE Title, but still pretty sucky. Although the potential for ABR vs. Cena or even the odd ABR vs. Daniel Bryan match seems cool. Thirdly, if a big name face from Raw gets drafted to Smackdown alongside with Miz, I really hope we don't see the same feud over and over again. For example, if Orton gets drafted we'll see Orton vs. Miz for the 627th time, and if Morrison gets drafted we'll see Morrison vs. Miz for the 159th time.

On the plus side, Miz on SD might mean he'll hold the title for another couple of months.

I smell bullshit.
As stated above, the answer to the lack of babyfaces on smackdown is to swap two of the top heels? That doesn't even begin to make sense.
Second, by moving ADR to Raw, you instantly throw away a feud between Christian and ADR that (a) has been several months in the making, and (b) practically writes itself with Edge's retirement.
They're going to feed ADR to Cena and Orton? There's really no upside to this -- I can't see Vince being willing to not only put the title on ADR this early in his career but also to have him win vs. Cena and/or Orton. That's just not going to happen. Feeding ADR to either one of them essentially puts ADR on the wrong side of the glass ceiling, stifling his push. Or you have them all avoid each other altogether, which essentially turns ADR into a glorified midcarder with the belt. "Midcarder with heavyweight title" never really works well.
Someone big is going to Smackdown -- there's no question about that, since Smackdown has no long-term star power right now (Undertaker is only a part-timer/special attraction, and Rey hasn't got much gas left in the tank). But I don't think it's going to play out like this. They're not moving cena, which means that the only babyface name big enough to take Edge's slot (until they can successfully elevate Christian or someone else) is Orton.

honestly, I think SD will get raped again...
Miz STAYS on Raw (too big of a star right now), Alberto SWITCHES to RAW, Christian wins HW title and stays on SD
Swagger, one or 2 Corre members (Gabriel or Zeke), Masters, Cody & Big Show (or Kane) might also go to RAW, if we go by past patterns of the draft

They're not going to destroy Smackdown. They might in terms of wrestling standard, but they're gonna get someone of importance. The only reason they are having the draft is because Edge is retiring and Smackdown needs a star.
They're gonna get someone like Miz, or Orton, or someone who can carry the brand.

This is a really stupid idea. Christian should win the title, if only for a month, and del Rio really isn't nearly significant enough to be headlining SummerSlam. And Miz has way too much momentum to drop him to the B-show.

If it's actually real, and they are rushing the draft due to Edge... maybe it's a sign to end the brand split. If one guy getting injured makes you feel like it's time to reshuffle an already thin roster, it's time to just let it go.

Massive overreaction, as if Cena and Orton are out there destroying people. Last I checked, they were the ones who spent the last year making Sheamus and Miz look legit. Even Ziggler and Punk have looked their best going after Cena. And if ADR is to look legit at all, then he'll eventually have to go against one of the two. Beating Christian isn't going to do anything for him.

That doesn't make any sense. Just put Orton on Smackdown. Problem solved.

Yeah the not so credible wwe champion should be on the B show so I have no problems with this happening.
ADR is pretty much on RAW every week anyways.

I can see the logic of it if they want an established main event heel to work with a midcard babyface who's being pushed into Edge's spot. Hopefully, that will be Christian.
So Miz would make sense there, as he is pretty much the top heel in the WWE these days. I'd prefer it to be Punk though, as I'd love to see him feud with Christian.
But I don't like the idea of Del Rio going to Raw to get kicked around by Cena and Orton.

Orton has completed all his storylines on Raw and has nothing left to do.
