Just something I noticed while watching Raw last night, specifically the opening with Stone Cold.
Austin interacted with Miz, Del Rio, and Punk in a pretty similar fashion: tearing them down.
But there was one huge difference: Miz looked like an absolute rookie out there. He looked like he was gonna start crying when Austin ran him down. Meanwhile Del Rio rolled with the punches and looked like he could stand toe-to-toe with Austin. Punk looked even better, he managed to turn it around and get a few insults thrown Austin's way.
I know you can say "Oh it's the writers and bookers and blah blah", but seriously, there was a huge difference. Miz looked terrible, and as much as I hate to see someone fail at their dream, maybe WWE will notice he's not as good as they want him to be.

I didn't notice... But I wasn't really paying attention. That whole promo with Austin & Miz was pretty boring

I thought he was pretty awesome last night. He owned the Piper's Pit segment.
However, Miz pretty much is a rookie compared to Punk and Del Rio in my eyes. He's not near as credible in any way. He does some really good things, but overall I just don't buy it.

Seriously, it was like it was Tough Enough and Miz was in Stone Cold's Bottom 3

Austin punked him out pretty good. Piper showed him how it's done. Riley kicked his ass again.
Not a good night for the Miz.

I didn't see it. Miz kinda reminded me of that one guy who thinks he can talk back to the drill sergeant (and does so) until he gets ripped a new one. Miz didn't look all that intimidated to me; well, up until Austin grabbed him by the tie, that is.

Seriously, it was like it was Tough Enough and Miz was in Stone Cold's Bottom 3 Yeah - this is the best way I can think of to describe it. Austin taunted his clothing choices (extremely justified, heels wearing suits is cliche now and Miz doesn't even wear a suit that well), his promo skills, his guts, everything. It was like Tough Enough, with Miz having to explain why he deserved to stay in the WWE.

I agree, but I think Miz fits in well just fine with Cena strangely enough.

Yeah because Cena is about as threatening as a puppy dog until you beat up his dad and spit on his mom and throw him off the stage through 7 JAPANESE glass tables THREE TIMES. Austin will kick the dog shit out of you for not taking a long enough sip of the beer he just handed you.

I was creating an analogy comparing Steve Austin/John Cena and Optimus Prime/Rodimus Prime, but couldn't figure out where Miz fits into it.

I thought Austin/Miz was fine..... but the Austin/Punk confrontation just seemed to have that spark of something special. I hope Punk doesn't leave. The guy is just great!

The interaction I was paying attention to was Austin\Punk... That was amazing. I wish Austin could have one more match, it would be against Punk. That feud would have amazing build.
Also, Piper made Miz look like an amateur.

He has very little screen presence when around more charismatic performers. He really did look like a contestant from Tough Enough being judged. It's doesn't help that he looks like a fool with that stupid pursued lips expression too.

You don't make sense.
It's not like Miz was out there with Austin and could just go off the cuff and challenge him and decided not to. They had Punk do that, not like Punk went there and just started taking shots at Austin without permission.
That IS the writers.
He complained about Miz's suit. Last week he complained about Vince McMahon's suit. Guess we should start a thread about that.
Some people just want to attack Miz without even thinking about it.

Um. Perhaps it was because they all stuck to character? Miz is supposed to be cowardly; del Rio is endlessly arrogant and mocking and smiling 90% of the time; Punk is just... Punk.
I didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

Yeah but there's still that "IT" factor, having ring presence. Miz looked like a frog faced little kid out there wearing his dad's suit. He just looked sooooo mismatched compared to Austin. That's what I'm talking about: Miz could have ripped Austin a new one or gave him a Stone Cold Stunner, but it would have looked terrible since it's not believable that Miz could hang with Stone Cold.

I like Miz, but I agree; he didn't look like he belonged there yesterday. It actually looked like he hadn't planned what he would say when Stone Cold got in the ring. When he started doing his sarcastic mocking schtick and Stone Cold cut him off it looked awkward. He looked awkward. It wouldn't surprise me if he had gone out there to perform on the fly as I imagine Miz tries to push himself each and every week, but he wasn't performing his character to the level he usually does, and had been mere minutes before Stone Cold came out.
He fared better in Piper's Pit, but that might be because I was focusing on how awkward Piper looked out there.

Just watched it. Austin tore Miz a new one. I'm no fan of Miz, but he should've been given a chance to get something back.
