Celebrity inductees Mr. T (the only man from WM1's main event not in!!!!!) Chuck Norris (he appeared at Survivor Series 94, and will Roundhouse kick Vince McMahon if he doesn't let him in)

Dude, most of you have WAAAAAAY too many dead people on your lists. Firstly, dying doesn't automatically qualify you for the HoF, no matter what you may think.
Second, what do you think WWE is gonna do? Have an entire ceremony tributing 8 dead wrestlers? People wanna see the legends themselves...not their kids accepeting on their behalf.
With that in mind, you'll get TWO deceased legends at the most. No more...and it'll probably be Rick Rude and/or The Bulldog.

I'll go with Mr. T as a celeb. I was saying how they should have done it last year with the other guys. Mr. T would have at least served a purpose.
But, they need to do a better job of selecting inductees. Last year sucked rocks. Well, Hogan, Jimmy Hart, Iron Sheik I can understand - they're genuine top-shelf. Nikolai Volkoff, acceptable, he did have a long career there, from attacking Bruno Sammartino to winning the tag titles. Paul Orndorff was a borderline choice. Bob Orton Jr had no business being inducted and I was a big fan of "Ace".
If you ask me, my wrestlers that should be inducted in the 2006 WWE HOF:
Road Warriors. You're not going to induct Hawk all by himself; they came in as a team and will go in as a team. Hopefully, this will give Animal the nudge out the door and into the front office. "The whole is greater than the sum of its parts." Or whatever they mean to say.
The British Bulldog. Here's your token "dead guy". Smith has had many classic battles in Chicago. Who out there remembers the Wrestling Classic and his face vs. face tournament match against Rick Steamboat? Good times. Bulldogs won the tag titles at WM2. Can even have Davey Boy's son Harry induct him in.
The Blackjacks. Your token old-school wrestlers. Believe it or not, they're not in. Jack Lanza's been an agent for the promotion for some 900 years, or so it seems. Everybody who's worked with him says he's a great guy. Add Mulligan and you have the chance to see Barry Windham induct them in. The Valiants are in, why not the Blackjacks? Blackjacks have a big history in Chicago with the AWA, which brings up...
Mene Gene Okerlund. Bald headed goofball announcer from the AWA who was the microphone holder behind the big boom of the mid-80s. Without Mean Gene, Hulk Hogan would have had to hold his own microphone, and we wouldn't have had the classic WM4 promo with him swimming on camera if he did.
Those are the ones I feel strongest for this particular year.

1. Hawk 2. Animal 3. Jake Roberts 4. Ted DeBiase 5. Ricky Steamboat 6. Dusty Rhodes 7. Arn Anderson
Most of the people on my list work the WWE right now so it would be easy for them to do!

something that bothers me is the fact that some folks have said eddie should be in the hall of fame.
someday? maybe. this year? no!
just because he is dead dosent make him a hall of famer. same with owen. give it time, see if their legacy holds up, then after about 10-15 years if they are still mentioned in conversations like this, induct em. but the sympathy induction gets on my nerves.

but we will end up with mcmahon snr brutus beefcake eddie jack tunney red rooster max moon kwang and hla Any particular reason why you think this? Or is this just another token "WWE is stupid" post? i wrote that as the wwe/f never seem to grasp what the fans want and go for the ones that they think excite ppl bob orton last year? wtf they should bury the hachat and have backland, bruno, bret in there perhaps also a section for stars who never made legends but hold a special place in the fans harts pilman rick rude owen hart or even let the fans vote for who gets in this year

Brown says that when Hulk was out of commison at the end of the 80's filming No Holds Barred and having some time off, Vince was gonna give him the title. Brown would go around with the title behaving like a bad ass, and Hogan would take the title back. Vince back peddled and Brown didnt get the title. All he got was Roddy Piper painted, taking the pissout of him. Nice eh ?

Dibiase for sure, agree with the Finkel pick. Wouldn't mind the 'Chicago class' idea and was just thinking that when they put Bret in it oughta be a Hart family affair n have him, Owen, Davey Boy, and Pillman in one shot.

The Bulldogs and Hart Foundation probably deserve to go in before the LOD, just based on time. Do those two first, and the next year, do LOD and Demolition.
Any bets on who will go in as both a singles and tag team wrestler? I'm thinking Bret and DiBiase are the best bets, but is there anyone else who stands that chance?

realistically, inducting anybody whose main glory years came post-1989 is just ridiculous. i say have 1 or 2 big names from the '80s (who are alive, well, and on good enough terms with vince to accept and speak), but mostly concentrate on inducting guys from the '70s who deserve it the most, who haven't gotten in yet:
guys like backlund, dusty rhodes, the blackjacks, perhaps the wild samoans (maybe they could talk the rock into giving the induction speech), tony garea, rick martel (who has ALL the credentials to get in)...
also, what about guys who made their names elsewhere or pre-date wwe, like lou thesz or the von erichs?
throw in there maybe mean gene, and maybe dibiase, double a (not double j, although if tna had a hall of fame, he'd probably already be it's charter member) or steamboat.
if wwe inducts eddie this year, they will severly undercut the credibility of the hof (not that it really has much to begin with).
and dare i say, eddie didn't really have a hall of fame-type of career in the first place? he had a great career and as i've stated in the past, is definitely one of the top performers and pure wrestlers in the past decade or so, don't get me wrong. but is his career really hof-worthy?
i can think of about 30 guys off the top of my head right now who deserve it more than he does but they are not in (for various reasons, of course...).
so with that all said, wwe's hall of fame class of 2006 will probably look something like this: davey boy smith (perhaps the bulldogs as a whole) ted dibiase ricky steamboat 1 or 2 token guys from the '70s (let's hope backlund and dusty) and lastly, eddie guerrero (i realllllllllly want to say that wwe WON'T do this, but let's just say that i'd be more surprised if they didn't induct him this year than if they did).

Dynamite Kid wouldnt accept the award in person, let alone I dont think he'd accept period. He wouldnt want his fans to see him in his current state. Sad but true.

The main guy missing from pre-80's is Sammartino, and he never accepts. They have to keep making him the offer. Other than him and Backlund, they inducted most of their historical class already. There is already a "real" pro wrestling hall of fame for non-wwe guys: www.pwhf.orgWWE should focus on their own unique wrestlers (or guys who were at least substantial contributors like Rick Steamboat), and let this other fed take care of guys like Dusty who didn't do much within the E, but still left their marks on wrestling.
