Way overdue, but amazing that it'd come down to a money issue and not a "lack of quality since Season 8" issue.

They'll settle on it, just like when the same thing happened a few years ago.
Still, while I would not at all be opposed to seeing the show gone, Fox are being assholes about it.

Solution:
Disgruntled WWE workers fill in on the Simpsons, disgruntled Simpsons voices work the house show circuit, and re-voice old matches.

It'll be weird without new Simpsons, that's for sure.

If the Simpsons does end, there has to be an epic final episode. It's been around too long to just simply end. It's also been way too important part of my life to just end.

This is at least the 3rd or 4th time Fox has pulled this s*** with them, and they've always ended up caving. Hell, they even caved to Futurama's cast who has nowhere NEAR the leverage that these guys do

Just as I was going to start watching again, interesting timing. I hope "The Simpsons" get a real ending. I do compare them though to the Three Stooges on terms of they stayed around too long and got stale in their final years (I cite the Stooges decline being when Shemp Howard was replaced with doubles and stock footage and as much as I didn't mind Curly Joe, I felt the Stooges weren't great as a whole in the 1960's, kinda just like The Simpsons in the 2000's).

Here's a f***ing idea.......How about you save money by....I dunno...just spitballing here.....
NOT REQUIRING SPECIAL GUEST STARS EVERY GODDAMN EPISODE! Ever wonder how the show became a "Timeless Classic" or a "Icon to Television"....or the first few seasons did anyway? BY NOT BEING DATED, HACKY, POORLY WRITTEN, PROMOTIONAL VEHICLES! BY RELYING ON GOOD SIMPLE STORIES WRITTEN WELL!
The "Principal Cast" (Azaria, Cartwright, Smith, Castellaneta, Shearer, Kavner) voice 86 SEPERATE Characters (26 for Castellaneta alone). Drop the Guest stars (Which I'd assume come with "Special Guest" pricetags) and I'd bet you save millions.

Yeah, this probably doesn't mean anything.
Though I'd be curious if it does. I am kinda ready for the show to be over. It's had an overall okay run of it, great run during the first few seasons, after that okay at best. The show's sort of like the Ric Flair of television now. There are flashes of what once made it what it is but they are brief and watered down in comparison to what was once there.

It is a terrible strain on the animators' wrists. I hate that I can no longer react with joy when I see that The Simpsons is on. No matter what timeslot it was syndicated in, you could count on quality. Now you have to check to see which episode it is, or what year it is from.

If it actually happens this time, it's no loss for me. That show hasn't been funny in years.
This could also be the last step before "Animation Domination" is renamed "MacFarlane Domination".
