I'm glad rock is dead because I dont think I could handle this band being crammed down my throat and being all over radio and MTV. I used to be a fan but I dont like the new stuff, the vocals are more annoying than ever and the music is very generic. The novelty has long worn off. It was appealing to teen goth/emo girls and many of them now have grown up and moved on. To be fair, their record company pretty much forced them to make a certain sounding album but thats what happens when you belong to corporate record companies. They can still have their niche market like everyone else does in rock and metal these days but HUGE band again, nope its over. Too late.

What a random thing to suddenly snap about lol Anyway, anyone who at one point liked Evanescence should check out Nightwish... basically sound like if Evanescence was more metal. I'm not normally a fan of female rock singers, but I dig both that they have had.

Heh? As for the 2 new singles...nothing overly spectacular, but not horrid (granted I'm a big Terry Balsamo fan)......sounds about like what you'd expect from the band. And trust me, this band is not gonna go away.......I'm sure the current Hot Topic/Twilight crowd will still eat this up.

Dead as far as bands selling tons of albums, being huge/crossing over into pop, and headlining arenas. Its more of a niche market now.

I seriously don't think I've ever heard song one by them Chances are, if you heard Pop or Rock radio back in 2003, you heard the song "Bring Me to Life." If not, Rock and "Mix "radio stations continue to play the song to this day.

Evanescence has been terrible ever since Amy Lee became a power-hungry bitch.

Wait, Evanescence are still making music? Could have fooled me. Like I said, we arent saturated with them anymore which is great. Shes on the cover of Revolver magazine but thats a far cry from Rolling Stone or Spin.

Evanescence has been terrible. Fixed for my personal opinions. And yes, Amy Lee is indeed a power-hungry bitch. They're not even the same band anymore. They're like the Guns n' Roses of wannabe goth metal.

I didn't think they were still active, let alone relevant. Huh.

I was sick of Evanescence the first second I heard them.
Doesn't help my old theater class leader decided to quit because she loved the band so much and tried to be a lead singer in I don't know how many two-bit Evanescence ripoff bands.

I'm really glad you made this thread. I happened to listen to the radio yesterday and apparently they have a new song out. I could tell because of Amy Lee's annoying ass. God I can't stand that band. Yeah... I liked a couple songs... when I was 13-14 back in 2003. I grew up but I was never that crazy about them to begin with. I just wish she would go away.

It's a sad day when bands like this are considered "rock". Just...gah. And people still watch MTV? Do they even play videos at this point?
