Update: 11 of 14 picks for Round One submitted. Of those 11, awaiting a couple of clarifications on the picks. Everyone should have been notified by now via PM that your pick has been received.
Waiting on three others to submit their picks.
Let's get 'em in tonight, shall we, folks?

Important reminder/clarification:
Remember, STAR POWER can only be used as a multiplier if you notify me before the songs go out to the judges. You're essentially betting on the pick you make in a particular round as the best you'll do in all three rounds. If you don't use your Stat Power in Rounds 1 or 2, then I'll automatically factor it in for Round 3.
----------------------------------------------
UPDATE:
Waiting on 2 picks that had problems with their submissions. They still haven't opened their PMs.
Any others that have been sent PMs about their picks will be locked in to the links they chose as soon as these two send their stuff in.
Judges, you'll have your picks as soon as I get a reply from the 2 missing contestants.

Waiting on judges. Sorry, folks. There are three people who have the option to rank this round, and as soon as I get the rankings back from just one of the remaining judges, I'll post results. If I don't hear back soon, I'll figure something out soon enough. Just hang in there. Once the game starts rolling, you'll find a routine/pattern start to develop. I fully intend to keep the game rolling. I tend to hate delays. I have two sets of scores turned in currently.

Well, folks, Round One has been completed. And what a round it was! 5 judges ended up weighing in. Wait, what?! 5 judges? Yes, after the hiatus of a couple of our faithful members, the Off-Topic boards were scoured for two representatives who have a taste in all things pop. Please welcome DSR to our judging pool! Also, mister dependable himself from several seasons of great FAN Idol judging was called upon to offer his expertise: THE Baldy Kendrick is in the house! In a surprise to my in-box this afternoon, added to the mix were original judges who had been missing in action, so MUCH to the benefit of the competition, the judging pool is much more diverse, which leaves much less room for outliers in terms of rankings. Consistently good scores will be rewarded in a system of 5 moreso than a system of three, where scores are typically more random. So, what was I saying? 5 judges weighed in, 2 contestants won 2 judges a piece overall, 3 ties occurred in the rankings out of (that’s 6 players out of 14), and 2 hosts are happy to finally bring you results. But first … as a bit of shocker, NO ONE felt comfortable enough in Round One to use his/her Star Power. Therefore, each judge’s ranking has no multiplier to it this round. There will be two more Prelim Rounds before our first elimination head-to-head, so players will have one more opportunity to use Star Power (Round 2) and if it is not used then, then Round 3 will automatically trigger the Star Power “double the score” multiplier for anyone who doesn’t cash in on Round 2’s category. (More on that after results.) In terms of high-rank to low-rank range, there were two contestants who earned the most consistent rankings from judges. The first was J was chose Hank Kingsley’s “Hey Now” and earned a 6-10-point range from all judges for a total 37 points combined. The other finds himself in the bottom three in the opening round … But leading the charge with 2 first place scores and yet another second place score with a round-leading score of 60 points … STINGERFORCHRIST, who chose Michael Scott’s “That’s what she said” montage, a great use of catchphrases in the form of a catchy extended clip. Our other contestant receiving 2 first place scores was … JUNKENSTEIN, who chose Roger Murtaugh proclaiming that he was certainly “too old for this ‘spit.’” [/RockBandAliceInChainsLyricsEditMode]. Junkenstein received 52 total points for the round, but BERGMAN was right there with him for the first of three ties in the round with 52 points of his own for Gran Torino’s “Get off my lawn!” Remember, there are THREE Rounds before the first elimination. Below is the screenshot of this week’s total rankings. Round 2 will be combined with Round 1. Round 2 will be posted shortly. {Spoiler}

I'm happy with how I did in Round 1.
I was so close to using Star Power for this round I really wanted to I went so far as to create a message to pegasuswarrior saying I want to use Star Power but I never sent it I just kept debating if I should take a chance and use it now since I feel comfortable in this round or be a little chicken and wait and see what the next round would be, well I was a little chicken so I closed the message didn't send it and decided to wait and see what the next round held but looking at the results I think I should of sent the message and used Star Power but we'll wait and see if I made the right choice or not.

[glow=gray,2,300]WELCOME TO ROUND TWO![/glow]Mine Enemy is growing old -- I have at last Revenge -- The Palate of the Hate departs -- If any would avenge - _ - _ -_ - _ - _ - Emily Dickinson Rivalry Isn't DeadThis is a NON-MEDIUM-SPECIFIC round. (Choices can come from any form of pop culture.)Contestants, you must use your skills to find and submit a piece that exemplifies rivals at work. Remember, judges have been encouraged not to confine you, so just be sure that you feature an entry that you think fits you and that features rivals in action and we'll see how it turns out. Please don't just submit a picture of rivals. Capture us with your actual clip or submission. For the sake of creativity and originality, we ask that you avoid the shows, movies, etc., etc., etc. that have already been used thus far in the game. This is the World Series of Pop Culture, so show that you have a little more range than a second clip of Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam, for example. Each round's picks are featured in the ORIGINAL POST of the thread. You submit your picks to pegasuswarrior and Cageking via PM (both of us just in case one of us were to go missing in action for an annoying period of time so that the other one could pick up the slack). We'll sort it out, send it to the judges, and all that. Please submit your picks in the following format: Title of Whatever Pop Culture Medium You're Using -- Name of Rivals Ex: Looney Tunes - Bugs Bunny & Yosemite Sam Don't forget the possibility of Star Power, or just wait until Round Three. Either one is fine. As always, if you have a question, just ask. Please get these in by Thursday. It would be good to keep the game moving along without delays. Thanks for all of the good picks so far!
