I see someone communicating honestly a conclusion she came to. Is she stringing him along if she was undecided, and then just last night came to the conclusion that she's not into him after all? What if she wasn't sure how to tell him until last night? What if she WAS just being nice, and Ryder misinterpreted? The problem is that the way that she "honestly communicated a conclusion she came to" was by making out with the guy's best friend in front of him while he sat under a pile of roses in the wheelchair he earned entirely by protecting her.

Yes, you're not allowed. I called the police, and they'll be over to arrest you at any second. Seriously "aren't allowed" what the hell Seriously, I don't see any stringing along. I see someone communicating honestly a conclusion she came to. Is she stringing him along if she was undecided, and then just last night came to the conclusion that she's not into him after all? What if she wasn't sure how to tell him until last night? What if she WAS just being nice, and Ryder misinterpreted? Point is, I'm not sure you can be mad at her without making some very iffy assumptions. I love the person who said you have to be a robot to not hate Eve, like seeing the world through the eyes of the woman, and not the poor wounded man who tried so hard, makes you emotionless. As I said before, I'm sure she'll officially heel-turn and be revealed as some vicious harpy who knew and was playing with him the whole time. But that's my point: if you have been in a similar situation and assumed the woman in question was that, then this angle is exactly playing to your worst nature. And it's working. I get the feeling that if the genders were reversed in this you'd see no problem at all. Fairly certain that if the genders were reversed, it'd still be seen as "anti-woman" somehow. For those in denial that she was stringing him along, need I remind you that she said, and I quote: "I *never* wanted us to be more than friends". Someone flirts with you for a period of time. Someone then asks you out on a date, and uses the word date. If someone you are not interested in asks you on a date after flirting with you, you really should not accept; if you do, then you make clear the expectations, or lack thereof. "That's sweet, and I'd be happy to go see a movie, but just as friends". Was that so hard? if you do not make it clear what your expectations are (and how they differ from the others), you are stringing them along, man or woman. If you keep going on further dates with them simply to soak up the perks of the courtship ritual, saving the rejection for as long as possible, you are an odious human being, man or woman. And *that* is why Eve was so roundly booed, and deservedly so.

I will LOL if it turns out Ryder paid off Kane to beat him up in order to get sympathy for him, and it just spiraled out of control.

I don't know about that, but I do hope WWE's plan was to turn Eve heel, because that's what's going to happen now anyways. She's basically become 2005 era Lita. A lot of angry men in that audience. (No offense to the male gender on the forum) but it's kind of hilarious/disconcerting how quickly a female in WWE can gain heat by attacking a guy's heterosexuality. Aside from the real life drama, Lita kept most of her heat by constantly harping on how the guys in the audience weren't getting any or couldn't get the job done like Edge. Eve's kind of getting a similar kind of heat by friend zoning Ryder. Plus the way they wrote her character she came across as a total tease and a bitch. Guys REALLY don't like teases. NO ONE likes teases. Even I was sitting there thinking "Oh f*** you Eve!!!1!!!" Because in that moment--it was still real to me. It was awesome heeling. I truly believe most men hate the friend zone thing far more than they hate a girl telling him that he's a loser who can't get any women. At least you can write the former off as the chick is being a, well, choose you're insulting noun.

You know, if you're going to friendzone a guy, you could at least have the decency to wait until he's out of the wheelchair he got put in trying to defend you.
She may not love the guy, but he deserved to get dumped with at least some kind of dignity.

It's not so much that, but if a girl flat out rejects you, it sucks for about a minute, and then you move on with life. For her to lead him on this far and then make out with his best friend, knowing how he feels about her, and to top it off with the "lets be friends" line, that was GENIUS contemporary heeling from Eve.

this is a hugely unflattering and in your face ultra heel looking taunt ... given her recent actions *note* I know it's an old picture.

One thing's for sure, Ryder should keep it on Talk or sports radio for the time being. The last thing that dude needs is to hear pop music right now.
It'd be a total Rob Gordon situation.

I get the feeling that if the genders were reversed in this you'd see no problem at all. Fairly certain that if the genders were reversed, it'd still be seen as "anti-woman" somehow. Okay, 1: This is pro wrestling. HLA pro wrestling. Vicki Guerrero pro wrestling. "Boo Molly because of her big ass" pro wrestling. They have not earned the benefit of the doubt when it comes to not being interpreted anti-woman. 2: The reason why it's silly to think about the genders being reversed, is that the internet hasn't been recently consumed with WOMEN'S nerd-rage and self-pity about "the friend zone." That there is almost entirely a dude thing. The entire self-consuming nonsense of "the friend zone" is built up on ridiculous premises. I don't see Eve stringing Zack along, because I'm not primed to think that way. The entire idea of anyone stringing anyone along is ludicrous: It never happens. NO ONE plans something like that out to "reap the benefits of the courtship ritual" because courtship is ambiguous and it sucks. That said: Eve probably WILL be revealed to be a cruel manipulative monster, but that's just because this entire thing is specifically written to play on people's "friend zone" emotions. This entire angle is wish fulfillment for a bunch of creeps on the internet. "Oh, not only did he SUFFER and ACHE for her, he's in a WHEELCHAIR, just like my HEART was in a wheelchair when I pined for Brenda! Zack DESERVES her, and she LIED and strung him along, which certainly FEELS like what Brenda did to me! And when Eve said she wanted to be friends, she really meant that she wanted him to keep getting beaten up by a giant in a mask, which is what happens to my SOUL every moment I try to be platonic friends with a woman!" Booing Eve is based on the simple feeling that Zack suffered for her, therefore she shouldn't be allowed to like someone else more. Creepy enough when it's based on just screwed-up assumptions, even creepier when you realize it allows no room for women to actually make decisions for themselves. I will say this, though: it is HILARIOUS that this is all happening to a character based on those dudes from Jersey Shore.

Oh for the love of... Ok, white knighting aside, let's just look at this. You have Zack Ryder, who tries really hard to get a date with Eve, but keeps getting sidetracked by circumstance, aka a large masked dude named Kane. Even after he finally gets a date, Circumstance ruins everything, but damnit he will not give up. And he risks life and limb to protect her. Now sure, Eve is perfectly allowed to turn him down, but her timing was something straight out of the 1980s villain handbook. He was in a bodycast/wheelchair holding roses on national television. The only thing she could have done to make it worse was dunk pigs blood on him. Zack Ryders Dad: "They're all going to laugh at you, bro! WWWYKI." So you are saying that Zack Ryder is Carrie?

Maybe I am downplaying it but I don't know man, life is full of disappointments and things you can't control or change so you just learn to accept them and move on. At least that's what I do. Or, as Denis Leary once said, "Life sucks. Get a f****** helmet!"

How is it not obvious that she's in the wrong by waiting until Zack got beat up like, 50 times before rejecting him? Because all men are sex-driven animals and if a woman leads us on and then decides she just wants to be friends than we are in the wrong if we do anything other than become her BFF. All kidding aside, this is professional wrestling. Professional. Wrestling. Do you really want to have a philosophical debate involving misogyny and feminism and whether or not the phrase "Friend Zoned" is just sexual frustration based on something that happened in professional wrestling?

Seriously. Even the explanation she gave afterwards smacked of: "Uh oh, I got caught!"
