I can't watch any of his matches anymore or any where he does a sick head bump. I never seen the match but I remember reading reports on how Backlash 2007 took place in Atlanta and they had shots of Benoits wife and kid in the crowd. Just two months before the incident. And his son just looks so innocent and helpless. Christ it's tough to watch.

Yeah, I wasn't really a fan of his before he murdered his family, and I'm even less interested in seeing him now. So would it be fair to say that he bored you to death?

Yeah, I know that there are a lot of people that can no longer watch Benoit matches due to what he did in the last days of his life, but I personally have no problem with it.
That said, I do cringe whenever I see him getting hit in the head, since I subscribe to the brain damage theory.

I agree with the Royal Rumble 2001. It's on the first Ladder Match dvd. It's the last match on disc 1, so I usually skip it.

I don't have any issues with watching a Benoit match, but I do cringe much more watching any diving headbutt spot.

I bought the DVD 5 years ago at Borders, basically a year before the whole incident occurred. I remember watching Wrestlemania XX around New Years of 2010 and managing to feel comfortable watching the main event, but then I stuck in my Backlash DVD and starting to sort of cringe at some stuff. I had forgotten about the Chris Benoit day bit, as well as the shots of Nancy and Daniel being in the front row.
I am more comfortable watching a Benoit match these days. I still am, as long as I can separate the wrestler from the man himself. I even bought his DVD earlier this year and I have to say, it's kind of like a collector's item these days.

It must be like watching Naked Gun movies Acquitted. Some indy promotion needs to start a stable of guys who believe that both OJ and Benoit are innocent. They'd always be cutting promos about conspiracies and everything. That'd get some solid heel heat.

I love this match mainly for the crowd screaming "YOU SCREWED BRET" at HBK, and Michaels responding by putting Benoit in the sharpshooter.

I saw most of his matches. I saw none of his murdering. My entire "relationship" with Benoit began and ended on TV. You know what? I thought it was good TV and I was a fan. It's a shame that it will never be acknowledged by most people now, though. I will still admit that Nancy and Daniel in attendance at this particular PPV is a little unnerving in retrospect... but at the time that it happened, it was very heartfelt. Yeah... I kinda want to watch it again now. BRB

I skip over every match he's in on my DVDs. Really the most difficult matches for me to watch are the ones in WCW when Nancy Benoit was a manager.

That'd get some solid heel heat. If Youtube comments are any indication of wrestling fans as a whole, someone proclaiming Benoit was innocent could be a huge babyfacee...

I have no problem watching a Benoit match. Christopher Michael Benoit killed Nancy and Daniel. Chris Benoit the wrestler didnt do it. I'm sorry, but I don't get that argument. The same man who wrestled as Chris Benoit killed his wife and child. There's really no separating the two.

Benoit was an amazing wrestler, to not watch his matches is just denying yourself some absolute classics.
His Royal Rumble 2003 match with Kurt Angle remains my favorite match of all time.
It is hard for me to watch him get smashed in the head all the time because I totally believe in the brain damage theory.
Chair shots are evil. Mick Foley's wife probably watches his mental state every second of every day with a quick escape plan. That's no joke, I would have one.

Hmm, I haven't seen the Backlash 2004 match since the incident. I recorded that PPV on VHS back in the day, but the tape cut off right before the main event. I remember that being a great match, and I liked it more than the WM XX match. I would probably feel creepy watching it too if they're showing his family at ringside.
That said, I don't mind watching matches where he's being cheered. I actually preferred his work as a face. I can usually watch a match of his without thinking of what he did, but even when I do think about it it doesn't ruin the match for me.
The only time I watched a Benoit match and felt really messed with me was some random tag match in WCW that involved him, Malenko, and Eddie. That one was pretty sad.

I even bought his DVD earlier this year and I have to say, it's kind of like a collector's item these days. Yea, I used to have his DVD. I really really screwed up by selling it along with all my other wrestling DVDs right before the incident. The shit you'll do for gas money

I haven't watched a Benoit match since "the incident," but I wasn't a fan beforehand, so it's no big loss.
The only thing that bothers me about never wanting to see Benoit anymore is that he wasn't the only person in those matches. Because of him, I'll have to miss out on matches from some of my favorites like HBK and Savage, but that's a trade-off I'm willing to make.
