For those playing the home game, that was the rematch triple threat b/w HHH/HBK/Benoit in Benoit's hometown. The match was great. The crowd was fantastic. Everyone was putting on a great show. But...
This one is akin to watching Hitler give speeches on film. You know there is talent there, but it is so creepy seeing this evil man working the room and inspiring...love from people.
The worst thing about it is that his wife and child are in the front row! I had not watched this match before and I physically got ill for a moment when the camera first panned to Benoit's wife and boy during his entrance.
Something tells me that match is not ever being released again. I just had to get that off my chest. This one is 100 times more disturbing than the WM XX match in retrospect for me.
I was wondering what match of Benoit's is hardest for you to watch (assuming any of them are hard for you to watch)?

I can't watch any of them. I don't go out of my way not to see him, I just don't and have no interest to.

I'm able to watch his matches just fine personally. Hell, Whatever is still a song I listen to all the time. Oddly enough though Metalingus at some point became a bit more melancholy to me.

Probably the Royal Rumble 2001 ladder match because of THAT diving chair spot.

I can't watch any of them. I don't go out of my way not to see him, I just don't and have no interest to. My Top 3 hardest to watch: 1. Backlash (for reasons stated) 2. Royal Rumble 2004 (again it is so focused on him) 3. WM XX Those are the ones where he is portrayed as the hero. For some reason I'm more okay with him being heel. But also, I don't like anything with him and Woman on screen together either.

I thought this thread would be about Chris Benoit Day, which a vignette features footage of being celebrated. They probably don't celebrate Chris Benoit Day anymore.

I have not watched all of it yet. I found the DVD cheap and bought it. I don't know if I want to check that out. Somehow I feel Chris Benoit Day is defunct.

I remember it being part of the show, a video package playing in the middle of it. (It is on chapter 8, around 48min in).

I can't watch any of his matches anymore or any where he does a sick head bump. I never seen the match but I remember reading reports on how Backlash 2007 took place in Atlanta and they had shots of Benoits wife and kid in the crowd. Just two months before the incident.

I never watched a Benoit match to begin with unless I had to. He was so boring. Yeah, I wasn't really a fan of his before he murdered his family, and I'm even less interested in seeing him now.

This was definitely one of my favorite Benoit matches... there's a part of me that likes this one more than the Mania match. Love the Mania match and watch it to this day, and I watch this one a tad less because, yes, it's just especially odd, now.
But, HBK was absolutely gold in this match, Benoit was the PERFECT home town hero, and HHH played his part well, too. The crowd was just incredible. So weird to watch, now.

I was watching a Benoit/Savage match (this must have been around the time where they were doing the Hogan gets beat by women's shoes things, maybe after) the other day, and sure enough, he does a suicide dive, Savage moves, and he eats concrete. Then Savage rolls him into the ring and hits a REALLY STIFF elbow off the top to the back of his neck (he took the move face down).
lol, stuff like that bugs me out alot more than Nancy being his manager in the match. It's unreal the amount of abuse this guy took and that's what, 11 years before it happened.
