I do have to say I am a bit perplexed by this board turning on Miz in the past few months. He's gone from the majority of the board liking him to disliking him with no real turning point (which is quite like Morrison last year actually). The only thing I haven't liked about him recently was the attempt to make him look dangerous, attacking Morrison and Truth which is really not the character he should be playing. If anything, I'd say that may have been the turning point, when they started to push Miz as this cold, calculating "Iceman" as they called it... A lot of people were just like "Yeah... no" on that.

My point is,I never said ''SANTINO IS TERRIBLY UNFUNNY AND SUCKS IN THE RING.'' I just stated that I dislike him as a comedy figure. No, you started off by basically saying, "What's wrong with you people? You should like what I like!" No not basically. He did it literally. He literally said This is turning into a five star thread.

That's just the way it is,I said that I found it weird that people were entertained by such character. If there's anything I hate here,it's Santino's character,NOT Santino.Maybe I should've stated that more clearly.

Santino by a country mile. He has better in ring skills and more charisma. I'd say it's even on mic skills as I don't particularly like the formula Miz uses, but when he actually puts effort into it he's great. Where as Santino is consistently good but just hasn't had the ability to get any depth. Still, this is professional wrestling and the Miz isn't a very good wrestler so I don't have much else to judge on.

Loved Santino since Lashely picked him out of the crowd. The man is a TRUE talent, and call me crazy, but I would mark like hell if he one the big one! They've already made his character a tad more srs, just let him add some more credible moves to his move set and you've got a future, VERY over world champ!

As a wrestler, Miz
As an entertainer, Santino

I prefer Miz, in that I feel he has more to offer than Santino does.
Santino is GREAT in his niche; but to me, it's fairly one note.

Santino and Undertaker have this in common: both men were saddled with a crappy gimmick and took it as their own and transcended what they were originally supposed to be. They both connect to the audience in a way that can never EVER be taught or even learned, but just happens when all the stars and planets allign just right for someone. Santino and Taker both took crap and turned it into a full course banquet. And yes, Santino has MASSIVE skills that he doesn't break out (except in glimpses) because of the nature of the character. rest assured though, he is definitely one of the three guys in the back that you would never want to get into a shoot with. I dunno, Jim Cornette slapped the shit out of him...

Depends on what you mean by "better".
If you strip away the gimmicks and accomplishments, Santino. If we're talking personality, credibility etc. then definitely Miz.

Yeah "Iceman Miz" from April 2011-Now has been absolutely awful. The only reason he worked in Awesome Truth was because it became impossible for Miz to pretend to be a badass in dialogue with his partner. That month-and-a-half brought back everything we wanted out of The Miz, and once it ended and we got the guy who tries too hard to be a badass it reminded us how dire his character is now.

I didn't imagine that this thread would generate THIS much discussion. Rad.
What's also rad is that 75% of people so far think that Santino is better than Miz.

I stopped watching WWE for about 5 or 6 years, and got back into it shortly before the Nexus Invasion. I don't know much about Santino or Miz's early WWE careers. That being said, I thought Santino was rather annoying when I restarted watching WWE, and I actually liked the Miz a bit.
But, Santino has won me over a lot in the past two years. One thing that can be said about him is he is reliable. Santino can got out & put on very entertaining matches & has a neat moveset. He also does a good job whether he's getting squashed in 15 seconds, wrestling a 7 minute tag match, or going long distance in main events. Santino is clearly devoted to his character & the WWE. You never hear Newz reports of Santino throwing a fit because he had to job out in under a minute. He's had some really big moments in the past few years: placing second in the 2011 Rumble was awesome. Yeah, he hid from danger for most of his time in the match, but that works for his character, and when he rolled back in the ring and grabbed Del Rio the place flipped out! It was a well received and well earned, memorable moment. Santino put on a great show in this year's Elimination Chamber. His reliability alone makes it logical for the WWE to reward him with some title runs, now couple that with the fact that he's over with the fans.
I think the Miz is a very valuable asset to the WWE. Much like Santino, he's devoted to his character & the WWE. Miz is a publicity work horse, and that is a great thing. Vince loves guys who bring exposure to the WWE. Unfortunately, he's floundered since losing the WWE title (which I thought was a decent run). I thought they should have turned him face a few months ago, because his heel bit has become a bit tiring (His promo style should have changed more after he lost the WWE title). It also seems creative really has no plans for him at the moment, which is a shame, because the guy is talented.
So, to finally answer the OP's question: At the moment I'm on the Santino bandwagon & happy he's getting some recognition for his great work, reliability, & devotion. And, I don't mean that to slight the Miz, because he has worked very hard in the same areas. He's just not as over with me at the moment, and that falls more on the creative team.

But he is, because he showed restraint, and the Ol' Cranky Bastard isn't Point taken, and it's one I shoulda mentioned in my thing. I just don't know that I buy Santino as some sorta real life badass based on skills no one's ever really seen.

I like Both and I admit sometimes it's a matter of catching lightning in a bottle (I.E. Otunga, David). Having said that I voted Santino. He's Calabrese like my grandfather and butchers the language like my grandmother did. What I like te best toug is that even wit his "limited move set" He really tells a story in the ring.

Santino by about a million light years. This poll could be "Who's better: A toilet or Miz?" and we'd all know who'd win. Hint hint, it ain't the guy who can't catch R-Truth.
