did this happen and when did rude go to wcw? The point of the thread is that none of this stuff happened but people were reporting that it was going to happen. Rude left in October of 1990 but didn't show up in WCW until October of 91

Along with the nice prospect of Chris Benoit coming in to WCW's Lightheavyweight division, there's a good chance that the Lightning Kid may be brought in.

Apparantly Rick Rude will shortly be claiming that "Rude-A-Mania" is running rampant in the WWF. This sets the stage for either of two scenarios:
1) Rude fails to beat the Warrior throughout the summer, turns face (due to an error by Heenan?), and feuds Mr. Perfect perhaps with a Hulk Hogan endorsement to further face-ify him.
2) Since the Warrior's ability to carry the organization seems to be questionable, Rude takes the World strap away from him to help heat up the summer in the WWF. This sets up the battle of the century as Rude-A-Mania takes on Hulkamania when Hulk Hogan returns after the summer.

Rude/Hogan > Slaughter/Hogan God, a Rick Rude title reign would have been sweet.

There's lots of talk still suggesting that "Blood Runs Cold" will be a three man ninja team, with Bryan "Crush" Adams and Hakushi being named as two of the three guys. The Observer reports that Adams says he's not going to WCW and that Hakushi going is unlikely. It also reports that David Ashford Smith (previously Yoshi Kwan and Chris Champion of the New Breed) will be one of the threesome.

RD would have inducted that into the Crap HOF.

The Undertaker story, to be revealed in time, is that his parents and he were all set to be buried that fateful night in the cemetary (about which Paul Bearer spoke), but Papa Shango used his voodoo to bring Undertaker back to life. Shango has signed a four-year contract to come in with that story line. First Sid, then Shango...just when you thought the situation on top couldn't be worse.

How would a NOD member change gimmicks in one week? You're so close. This thing is dated 6/5, while the "Bigger, Blacker" version of the Nation debuted on 6/16.

The WWF has SummerSlam in 08/30/93 with a tentative main event of Hulk Hogan vs. Bret Hart for the WWF Title. Talk now is that Vince is going to go to the safe main event here instead: Hogan vs. Lex Luger. Maybe we'll have a feel for things once the King of The Ring is over.

Summer Slam will be subtitled "A Match Made In Heaven And A Match Made In Hell." This past weekend's syndies had Vince McMahon asking Randy Savage whether he and Elizabeth were as close to "tying the knot" as rumours that Vince had heard were suggesting. Randy stammered around a bit and I forget his exact response. In any case, the marriage of Elizabeth and Randy Savage in the ring is almost certainly going to be the "Match Made In Heaven". I'm led to believe that the "Match Made In Hell" will be Hulk Hogan vs. The Undertaker. It's expected that Ted DiBiase will interrupt the wedding of Randy of Liz to set up his feud with Randy Savage. Also, Sid Justice will make his debut at the event, facing Curt Hennig in an Intercontinental Title match. The event takes place on August 26th from Madison Square Garden. That leaves them with 2 months to try to book their best bump taker against their biggest stiff in a convincing manner.

Latest rumour has Vince making an offer to buy the NWA. I doubt Ted Turner would sell to Vince, 'cause these boys just don't like each other, but if the offer is really high.....

Wow, no WCW. Makes me wonder what the wrestling world would have been like.

Reports are that Buddy Landel had a tryout with WCW, with the idea of bringing him in as an NWO Nature Boy. Despite the fact that Buddy could work the microphone, this sounds like a terrible idea. But as you have that thought, realize that the WWF just gave Van Hammer a tryout. And Men On a Mission's Oscar was saying that MOM would be returning to the WWF. Was I saying something about a talent dearth earlier?

The Observer reports that the original plan was for Curt Hennig to be Diamond Dallas Page's mystery partner before turning on Page to join the NWO. Raven was also slated to join the NWO. And Konnan was also supposed to join.
------------------------------------
So in this situation Hennig joining the nWo is completely hotshotted at Bash at the Beach 97 instead of dragging out and having him join the Horsemen and turn on them. Also we have Raven joining them instead of forming his own group.

The Nasty Boys are heels again in WCW. The Hollywood Blonds, Pillman & Austin, will turn face and feud with the Nasty Boys once they win the tag titles. Chris Benoit & Bobby Eaton will also do a face turn.

January 10, 1992 Apparently, Magic Johnson has approached both the WWF and WCW about doing wrestling shows as part of an AIDS benefit. The rumours have him proposing some inter-federational matches as the draw. ----------------------------------- So now you have a lot of stuff to think about. It's early 92, WWF vs WCW matches for an AIDS benefit. What matches would you want to see? A few months old, but man, I can't believe nobody talked about this! We're talking about the WCW vs. WWF supercard that fans always dreamt of. It definately would have been better than the inVasion crap. This was even mentioned in the 1992 edition of the annual PWI "State of Wrestling" issue, where they did dream super cards. Can you imagine Sting v. The Warrior? Savage v. Vader? Granted, both talent pools were slim pickins at the time, but it would have been really neat and could have rejuvenated both companies. (WWF and WCW were making decent money and the time and running good storylines, don't get me wrong. They just were lacking the spark that blew up the wrestling world in the early-mid 80's and were fizzling out of THAT era.)
