I was very angry. I felt like I had wasted the $65 ordering the PPV, but luckily the other major matches more than made up for it. So I am happy about that. Though I felt like it was a massive waste of two very talented wrestlers.

The problem for your guy Sheamus is that nobody will ever even remember that it was him who squashed Bryan in 5 seconds. All people will remember is Bryan getting squashed. This match was detrimental for all parties involved. And that Sheamus got showered with boos and bullshit chants. Then for the next hour of the show though every match there were chants for Bryan. Great way to make Sheamus a top face.

I am sure he, I, others and millions of Irish people will remember that Sheamus squashed a litter weasel of a champion at WM.

Great way to make Sheamus a top face. And that's another thing, he was booed. It was like when Machine Gun Kelly called Cena the underdog. How is that going to get John Cena cheers? So Sheamus comes out, gets booed, suckers Daniel Bryan and wins the belt. What a baby face.

It left a sick feeling in my stomach and kind of ruined the PPV for me, I was looking forward to the match, and knew Sheamus was winning, but not like that. That kind of finish had no place at Wrestlemania. Both of those guys deserved better, from dark match last year to an 18 second match. Disgraceful. The Brodus Clay crap, a worthless backstage skit or two could have been wiped out and the time given to the Sheamus-Bryan match. I would have been happy for a 10 minute match, at least it would have been something. There probably will be a 20 minute match between them on free tv this week.

On one hand, I wanted the match to last longer. On the other hand, it was hilarious. And hilarity entertains me.
So I'm pretty torn about it.

Its amazing how much that one moment deflated me. I was SO pumped for the show, then bam, 1-2-3, and I went from a total high to being more angry at a wrestling show than ive been in AGES. I didnt get back into it until halfway through HHH/Taker.

I really think this is all the proof we need that they don't give two s***s about SmackDown or it's angles. Uh, Kane/Orton and Show/Cody?

I guess someone agreed that Orton/Kane was more important.
Very poor decision by whoever made it. If it was Vince, then nothing will come of this. If it was a writer...they're probably on the block. If it was Triple H...then...Triple H conspiracy stuff here.

I find myself sad to say that if I had any problems with length of this match, it is because it was at Wrestlemania rather than it was a World Heavyweight Title match. Would have been alright if DB had somewhat fight in WM but later lost in a squash match in SD or another PPV (again is might miffy on seeing squashes on PPV). Had to feel sorry also for DB fans who were expecting some kind of decent performance from him.

The problem was that Sheamus/Bryan as feud did nothing to earn that ending. If Bryan had a few more months as champ, becoming more and more of an outright asshole, with Sheamus being screwed over multiple times to the point where fans are begging for him finally get his shot, then such a quick and definitive match would have been cathartic. That felt like Batman defeating Joker at the end of the first act. It doesn't feel satisfying and the overall feeling is just "huh"?

I'm not the type of person that throws around the whole "Burial" word a lot, but I have to say that tonight was pretty damn close to a burial.

They obviously don't care about their PPV model, Who would want to pay after they do this shit continuously, They had a chance to fire up the crowd with all their pretty YES signs but whatever. Put all the bad stuff first so HHH can "save" the show and no one can steal the show.

Oh yeah, and the biggest comparison here is for JBL/Cena in 2005. JBL was the asshole heel who was champ for ten months, always winning by bullshit means, and Cena was the white hot new face of the company guy who was over as all hell. You know what happened there? They had a 15 minute match. This is absolute shit, and any defense of it is bias beyond repair.

As someone who actually owns Summerslam 88 on VHS and has watched it many times I will say you can't really compare this match to the Honky Tonk/Warrior squash. The main part is the Honky Tonk Man kind of asks for it at SS88. Brutus Beefcake was beaten down the week before and he was unable to compete. So the HTM challenges anyone in the arena to a title match and the Warrior comes out and squashes him. In kayfabe, HTM could say he wasn't prepared for the match and since most of the fans thought the match was off anyways it was a nice surprise to get to see the Warrior win the belt. Sheamus/Bryan was announced and built up for two months. Whether or not you liked the build up, it had a long build up. If this match really was 18 seconds long that is ridiculous and makes me glad I didn't pay for this nonsense. If the crowd was chanting Bryan afterwards that is hilarious and Vince should know better that he has smarky crowds for ppvs. Then again, maybe he wanted to rub it in their faces. Also unlike Warrior/HTM, I think Bryan and Sheamus could have been a very good match.

I really think this is all the proof we need that they don't give two s***s about SmackDown or it's angles. You're just now realizing this? They haven't given 2 s**** about Smackdown for years. Why do you think that everybody who gets even remotely over on that show is swiftly put on Raw soon afterwards

OK, I get the logic involved in making this match last 18 seconds, even though I still think it sucks. But what justification can you possibly give to starting the show off with that? That's the way you want to begin your big show of the year? Just, no. This sums up my feelings as well. It was a given that Sheamus is winning, and I see the logic behind the squash match. But you don't start off the show with it if you do it. I really think this is all the proof we need that they don't give two s***s about SmackDown or it's angles. Uh, Kane/Orton and Show/Cody? Both of those matches were in the first hour of the show. The last part of the show was Raw dominated, and the only hand Smackdown had in it was the Johnny/Teddy tag match.

We had over a hundred people watching it at work, they farted all over it, and most of them were supporting Sheamus.
