Because I didn't get ECW for the first year of its existence, my first real exposure to Punk in a one-on-one match was Judgment Day 2007 against Elijah Burke, and it just blew me away. Been a fan ever since.

The color commentator gig. He was good with the SES gimmick with his look and all and his RR appearence with that gimmick was hilarious, but to me that was a cheap heat character. When he did color that was an eye-opener in a "push this guy now!" kind of way.

SES did the trick for me. Before that, Punk was just another generic babyface to me.

I first saw him on his debut on ECW. I thought he was awesome when he turned on the new breed. I became "Merchandise" fan in his commentary days. He was just awesome on commentary. Then the pipe bomb sealed the deal and made him my favorite superstar

Since the SES. Jericho and Edge are the ones who got me started watching wrestling in the first place; CM Punk and the SES is what got me completely hooked.

I was a fan when he first started in WWECW in 2006, but I lost interest with his bland babyface run. Then I became interested again during his feud with Jeff Hardy and the SES era.

I'm another that has been a fan since seeing him on the wrestling channel but at that point he wasn't one of my favourites, he grew on me over time with his match with Joe, signing his WWE contract on the ROH belt, his ECW debut, matches with Morrison, feud with Jeff, singing to Rey's kid etc Only when he moved to commentary did I realise just how good he was and the latest summer of Punk cemented that.
As you may be able to tell I'm a fan of the little things wrestlers do and Punk is one of the best in that area.

I liked him in ECW, but I lost interest when he won MITB and later, the WHC.

For me, it was 2009 a couple of months after Wrestlemania 25, only because i didn't have cable from between 05 to 09, so i wasn't able to watch any/very much WWE progamming here in australia.

When I found out about ROH in the Summer of 2003. Him and Samoa Joe were the first guys that really caught my attention.

One of the earliest things I remember about Punk is him vs Steve Corino in PWG. For no damn reason, he started to act like Low-ki. Then Corino started acting like Muta.
Loved it.

Since his feud with Jeff Hardy in 2009. Great stuff, especially when he came out dressed as Hardy to ecstatic cheers that evaporated into super heat.

Still not really a fan? Now just I started watching again last January so I missed ECW and the SES so I don't have the history. Still though, I think he's a great wrestler and a good talker but I'm never excited by "Punk". I'll get excited about "Punk vs X" but he needs that +1 for me to care*.
Ziggler for instance I'm excited anytime he shows up for anything.
*The exception is Punk on commentary, that's almost always gold.

While I'd seen some Punk stuff prior to his WWE run, I didn't exactly follow the guy, but I enjoyed his matches and thought he would be great in WWE if he was used right. But the fair answer is probably when he came in...there was a lot of excitement built up to his introduction and outside of his time as the leader of Nexus, I enjoyed everything the guy has done.

I really got behind him during the Hardy feud just before I stopped watching, before that I thought he was kind of bland. The famous promo last year is what got me watching again after two years of not following WWE.
