Liked him ever since he debuted in ECW. I was aware of the hype around him, but I'd never seen any of his older matches. I was just getting into TNA around that time too back when Samoa Joe was awesome, so I made sure to check out their stuff together.
He became one of my real favourites after the pipe-bomb promo last year. That whole period from then to SummerSlam was just brilliant television, and it was almost single-handedly due to Punk. He's lost that aura since then, but he's still one of the most consistently entertaining guys on the roster IMO.

I've been a fan ever since his title match/heel turn at Death Before Dishonor III.

Since I saw him wrestle Colt in 2002 at an IWC show for Norm Conners in front of under 200 fans in Hindman Hall, Butler PA. This was not long after ECW folded so we were really there to see Sandman do dumb drunk shit
They were 3rd or 4th match, I remember being pretty blown away by the match, so much so that I bought a $3 Colt 8x10 and had him sign the front, and Punk the back. This was also prior to comedy Colt, so the 8x10 is tremendous. STILL have that shit too.

Liked him in SES, didn't like him at all over the last year as nexus leader or during the summer. His work ethic, general knowledge and take-no-prisoners attitude while not being self-destructive enough to blow his chances has really won me over.
Just hope he's got more meaningful fueds coming up, if the Miz steps up his game I think it could be great (both build the fued off of bringing their own lifelong characters into the E and getting by on their own terms, etc.).

Since around 2004. I used to post on his old message-boards under the handle SR Punk.

When the speculation in early '05 that he was going to WWE. I looked briefly into his stuff with Samoa Joe from the previous year and loved it.

I've been a fan ever since his title match/heel turn at Death Before Dishonor III. Whilst not a technical masterpiece, the storytelling of that match and the heel turn that followed is honestly one of my favourite things in wrestling ever.
