For me it wasn't until the SES started. Before that I just didn't find anything that great about him when he was on ECW. I seen some stuff of his from his ROH days here & there which were good, but it wasn't enough to make me a fan. When he joined SES I thought it was a really cool concept and I enjoyed it a lot. Now in his current form, this is the best he's ever been from what I seen in my opinion.
By the way I meant to put (2002-2005) for his ROH days. But you get what I mean.

since late 2005, I'd previously heard from a music forum that he was the future of wrestling, about a year later managed to check out a 'protest' he had in ROH and was pretty much hooked x

Since his 2007 ECW feud with John Morrison. That was my first real exposure to him. I then checked out his ROH stuff.

"Pipebomb Punk," when I started watching regularly again and familiarizing myself with him.

Since ECW
I knew of him before then, but I don't watch much indy wrestling so had never seen him wrestle. Straight away though I became a fan.

Punk actually got me back into wrestling, when I tuned in to see him wrestling John Morrison on ECW. I had heard of him for a long time, read about him in magazines and whatnot, and had no idea ECW was back, so naturally I stayed tuned in and here we are today.
It is EXTREMELY satisfying to see the guy who got me interested again holding the top title in the business today.

The jury is still out on Punk for me. Never can say I've been a big fan. I find him to be an interesting and entertaining piece of the puzzle, but never one that I cared what they did with either way.
I actually think that this new incarnation, "Pipebomb Punk" if you will, is my least favorite of his characters. Much too snarky for me to get behind as a babyface. People say Cena's character needs to face adversity. Punk has hardly had any adversity for the better part of 6 months. I think this Jericho feud is going in that direction though, so we'll see.

I heard that the ROH title matches with Samoa Joe were where it's at, so I tracked them down. I can't believe how far he's come since.

I hadn't been watching wrestling from about 2000 (though I dipped back briefly to see Rock/Hogan in 2002 I only watched about 3 Raws and the NWO DVD), so when I tuned back in in 2010 to see my hero Bret Hart that was the first time I saw this CM Punk guy. I thought he was pretty awesome. He said funny things during the Royal Rumble, was a dick to Darren Young, didn't want people to do drugs, had a crazy beard, and put on some great clinics in the ring. What's not to love?

I had the same complaint with him never looking weak, but the dude constantly lost for the 2 years before he turned face, so they had to reestablish him as a threat recently by having him run roughshod over the Mizs and Del Rios of the world. Remember, there are fans who still think you're "not any good" if you don't win all the time, they had to get Punk over with those people. With Jericho getting to him, Henry destroying him Monday, and Big Johnny in control and throwing monsters at him, I think we're onto the next development of his face character and he'll be showing a lot more vulnerability.

Since I first saw his promos against Raven, so I guess that would be...2003, I think.

Since his feud with Raven in RoH. Before that I only watched RoH sparingly. Him and Raven hooked me in. I just wanna make the point though that I don't hold it against his more recent fans though as I hate the concept of bandwaggoning being a bad thing.

Didn't know him during his ROH days, but I immediately became a fan of him during his ECW debut promo. When he said the line ''My addiction,is wrestling.'' it sounded like a great line to me and already made me a believer of him.

Shortly after that, I lost interest again.

I first heard about Punk during his feud with Raven (I actually first heard about ROH through that feud as well). I was a huge fan of Raven (and still am, one of my all time favourites) and reading about what he was up to caught my interest. The whole concept of Raven having his past drug issues and Punk hating him for that was really something that should have been seen on a national level. I also enjoyed his OVW stuff.

My first exposure to Punk was when he was tagging with Julio Dinero and Raven on those early TNA PPV's. I remember them putting Abyss (I think it was him anyway) on a stack of tables and Punk jumping off the top of the cage. I wasn't sure if I liked him or not. He looked kind of trashy but he had a Pepsi tattoo, I wasn't sure if he was cool or super lame. Then I started hearing a lot about his work in ROH and decided I wanted to see more of his stuff.
I bought the Best of CM Punk Vol. 1 DVD from ROH shortly after he signed with WWE (can't remember if he was already in OVW or was doing his last few ROH dates at the time) and that's when I really became a fan.
