I was thinking more the other sites that are participating in the blackout. With how Wikipedia operates I'd be very surprised if they DIDN'T do that.

If Wikipedia goes dark, I think it sets a very dangerous precedent. I know SOPA is a huge deal to it, but they're supposed to be a neutral repository of information, not an advocacy site.

The matter affects them, and Wikipedia often can be pretty opinionated in the first place. Though what's odd is them doing this when they seem to generally have a negative view of works on the Internet being considered worthwhile.

They can't be neutral. How are they expected to ensure that every image posted on their site does not make them susceptible to a SOPA violation?

The open source nature of how Wikipedia works makes it a prime target of SOPA should it become law. Especially if some dick vandalizes it putting up a ton of copyrighted material to get it shut down. Even if it's deleted, it's still there in the page history.

You know, if you have a script blocker site, and you block Wikimedia, like I did to get rid of those annoying banners, but not wikipedia, you can still access the site as normal.

There, did some representative e-mailing. First time I've done that.
Any list out yet of what sites have gone black?

I doubt the average internet user knows that. This is for the average-everyday internet user who doesn't have the faintest idea what SOPA even is
