How did we go from, in the span of a few months of Punk-Vince-Cena (the seeds are beginning to sow for a possible heel turn with Cena perhaps siding with Vince where the angle is red hot....... to........ Are Triple H and Nash friends? Who sent the text message? Why did Triple H Punch Nash? And Punk is just... there caught in between everything Are they PURPOSELY to cool down Punks Run? If that was the plan, they as sure as hell did a great job cooling off Punk. And now its back to the HHH show where we have to see him 4 times a night.. I mean... how can no one see how BAD this has gotten? And why is no one reprimanded or even fired for quitting on the biggest angle they had in years In Cena-Punk-Vince. They lit a bunch of money on fire and through it in the trash almost. And now people wonder why no one could ever stand this guy This is clear reasoning (as this shows) for never caring for the guy. Its not irrational hate.

HHH IS a star, for better or worse. If he actually gives Punk the rub, it'll be no turning back for Uncle Phil Brooks.
I can't predict what'll happen though. WWE would have to be mentally challenged to knock a guy down when he's over like Punk.

If HHH is only on air to put Punk over at the end of this angle, I am all for it.

I think the angle is still fresh and if nothing else at the moment it's allowed Punk to "shoot" two people the smarky fans love to hear shot on (HHH/Steph) and everyone loves a whodunit, right? I didn't even mind the payoff of Nash text Nash, I certainly don't remember anyone predicting it. I'll reserve judgement on HHHs involvement until NOCs. There really is no excusing him coming out of this feud on top.
Punk MUST, at some point get a decisive PPV win over HHH or it'll be like MITB never happened.

Yeah, Punk needs to beat HHH clean. Otherwise, this will all have been for nothing. The epic MITB match, the shoot promo, his contract negotiations, HHH has to realise they need to make CM Punk one of the stars. Theyve gone this far, and they cant waste that.

And HHH knows when he has a star on his hands. Orton, Cena, Batista. The three biggest names of the last decade.

For all the shit he has gotten, when he has seen a guy he wanted to make a star, he has been on the money. Although he didnt really make Cena, yet I think he just kinda solidifed it. When you think about it, Punk looks like he is in good standing here.

For the record, Cena made himself.
HHH had very little to do with it.
Cena had good, even great wrestlers to play off of, but there is no specific Cena moment where you could say "now this guy's a star". That's cause he got over with the humanoids on his own merit/talent.

I will agree hat at some point Punk HAS to have a clean win, has to, if they want him a face. He was a heel in the first match, and backfiring interference got him the win. I can deal with that. Then we got the second attempted screwjob, and...yeah, little much. Then we get Nash's interference after Trips "misses the feet on the ropes".
I'm all for being creative with finishes, and not every match has to be clean, but I know the upcoming match will be anything but clean (I'm guessing interference at least twice, maybe more) with Trips going over to keep his position. That's no clean finishes yet, so there has to be at least one eventually. I hope.
I'll go on record though, Trips is smart enough to know that he's got somebody riding a hot streak, and someone that can make money. He'll do business, I'm sure, at least I hope, but NOC can not, must not, end with Trips winning cleanly. Weapon shots are one thing, but if it ends in Pedigree/sledgie/win then...well, then we have a problem.

I really get the feeling that HHH wanted to be involved in the angle because it was so hot. He probably really feels like he could make it better but I don't think that's been the case. Then again, it's much better now than some people expected it to be at this point. There's really no telling where the angle would be at if they didn't insert HHH into it.
Though I do think it's fairly obvious that HHH will go over at Night of Champions. I think they'll go with a very obvious swerve. Nash interferes and helps HHH decimate Punk. Turns HHH heel, keeps Punk from looking bad, and continues the story without giving away a true HHH/Punk match.
My main complaint with this whole thing is that it feels too rushed. Punk came back after 2 weeks and was rushed into the rematch with Cena. HHH is now rushing his return to the ring against Punk. This whole angle could have played out with these same key points over the course of 8 or 9 months instead of 2.

Of those 3 guys I would say HHH maybe made 1 of them (Batista). And that was mainly because WWE had to do something to push someone else because HHH had essentially buried the guy they had previously wanted to push (Orton).
Cena had already been the WWE champion for a year by the time he faced HHH. And if anything that feud truly started the rampant Cena hate that persists to this day.

Orton's momentum was killed by HHH and he didn't regain it until he feuded with Taker on Smackdown. Of that list I'll only give you Batista.

Make no mistake, Triple H did ruin this angle. He interjected himself, brought another "good ol' boy" in and killed all the momentum the WWE had going. Look at how mainstream the WWE was about to break through again last summer! It's so jaw-droppingly depressing that Trip's ego made the wrong call for business AGAIN.

Hunter for some reason wants to be labeled as one of the greats, don't get me wrong he is talented and has had a great career. But he'll never be at the level of Austin, Rock, Foley, Shawn, Bret, or Taker and I feel that's what really eats at him. So he continually tries to insert himself into programs and in the process makes himself look worse, while at the same time hurting the others heat and momentum.

Yeah HHH "making" Orton is simply wacko. They hotshotted Orton's first world title (to make him youngest world champion after Lesnar left a few months prior was probably the main reason), but then Orton spent the next few months being HHH's bitch. They had to push Batista at that point because Orton looked so bad.
HHH has yet to make anyone other than Batista. Even as a heel HHH was making faces look bad. Now if he is a face.....look out. Win or lose, he will look better than Punk or anyone else he happens to feud with.

I just hope that by now Triple H is secure enough in his legacy and his future in pro wrestling to know that it's not about him anymore. If Trips knows what's best for business and what's best for the future of the company, then Punk will go over in the end.
