AJ Styles helped bring the X-Division in, even though it's just Poresu(sp?) wrestling. Ultimo Dragon definitely needs to be on there. Ditto most of those Japanese guys. Why?

Well I'm aware of Shin'ya Hashimoto, but I wouldn't say he belongs in a list of influential wrestlers...what's he done to shape the way WWE is today, for example?

WHOA! My list actually survived the day. Thanks for contributing. There is even more than 100.
Lets try to narrow down the list, or perhaps take out some that haven't made as big as an impact, and a few who have made more impact.
*sorry I was out for the day...

Some guy on pwinsider.com already put up a list like this a year or so ago. If I remember correctly, he put Paul Heyman at 100, Hogan at 2, and Vince McMahon at 1. There are plenty of people in-between who I either have never heard of, or people who influenced the business long ago and who don't get talked about much these days. www.wrestlingencyclopedia.com/top100.htmlhe put the list up at WrestlingEncyclopedia. For the most part, i agree with his list. He does include a lot of Japan and Mexico stars. But i do agree with his top 5. Without those guys, wrestling wouldn't be where they are today.

Of the list, I'd say remove:
9. Eddie Guerrero- not really that much impact to wrestling AS YET- in 10 years we'll look at it. 21. Edge and Christian !!!- ditto 22. Cyndi Lauper !!!- Alright, but she still played a part at WM1 damnit! 26. Giant Baba- I don't know who this is. 28. Chris Jericho !!!- See Guerrero 43. Chyna !!!- Well, she had a weird look, but she was unique in many ways: April Hunter aside, few women have taken the "muscular woman fighting men" gimmick up since. 44. DX !!!- A faction. 47. Sabu- Not as EXTREME~! as others on the list. 50. Andy Kauffman !!!- Celebrity yes, but beyond that? 56. Blue Demon- I don't know who this is. 70. Konnan !!!- Big in Mexico, but not really revolutionary. 71. Vampiro !!!- Ditto. Plus neither of these did crap outside Mexico. 78. Michael Hayes !!!- Already in as the Freebirds. 79. Kurt Angle !!!- See Guerrero. 80. Triple H- See Guerrero. 85. Trish Stratus !!!- See Guerrero. 93. Gene Okerlund- Good grief. 102. The nWo !!!- A faction. 104. The Crusher !!!- I can't really think of any long-term historical impact by Crusher. 105. The Dudley's !!!- Tables yes, but beyond that? Plus, like Road Warriors, they lacked any really GOOD matches, TLC aside. 107. Ron Simmons !!!- First black World Champion, but did little aside from that and won the title more for being black than on his own merits. If that makes sense.

In defense of Blue Demon -
He and Santo were the two biggest luchadores of the 50's/60's/70's, in easier terms, Santo was Superman, and Blue Demon was the underdog, like Batman.
They also had a lot of the highest drawing versus bouts, and Blue Demon managed to beat El Santo in 1953.
And the films they starred in are classic.
thats all.

44. DX !!!- A faction. 47. Sabu- Not as EXTREME~! as others on the list. 102. The nWo !!!- A faction. Without Degeneration X and the nWo, either of their respective companies could've gone bust at the time. Granted, it wasn't so much the factions themselves, and rather the material with which they were provided... but these two groups were at the forefront of the Monday Night War. Sabu pretty much made ECW in the early years.

Hey everybody thanks for your input, I will try to rank them in a seperate thread later after the process of making the list is complete.
A list like this was done before, But this is who people of Wrestlecrap members think are the most influential.
AS OF NOW PLEASE READ MY ORIGINAL TOPIC STARTING POST OF THIS THREAD. THANK YOU.

Oh yeah, I dig the nWo and, to a lesser extent, DX, but Sudden Rush said he wanted individuals rather than factions, which is why I suggested both editing out. If we did a Tag Teams And Factions one, they'd probably be #1 and #2.

You are all very very sadly mistaken. The two most influential figures were Smash and Jake Roberts. Greatest Wrestling Figures EVAR!!

I preferred the Papa Shango one. Incredible tattoos, removable necklace, hat... My Smash had a lame arm, which was, er, lame.
