From the Observer (who according to so many on the FAN board is nothing more than a mark newsletter that doesn't have any merit or research behind it):
The Young Bucks and T.J. Perkins were told in Toronto on 5/12 that they are off for the next few months. They are under contract but the belief is they are trying to save money because all three are flights from Southern California. El Generico is also not booked on any shows in the near future.
The crowd for TV in Baltimore on 5/18 was actually less than 375 fans, the lowest to date. A mistake from the last issue is that Fusion DS, a team that was in the dark match, is not the team that sells so many tickets in Baltimore. That was D-Line, who weren’t on the show, which partially explained the smaller crowd. They are scheduled to be back at the June tapings.
There was a lot of questioning regarding the tapings because they had Eddie Edwards vs. Richards and Richards & O’Reilly vs. Jacobs & Steen at the TV tapings, with neither match advertised, tickets sales not good, and they advertised matches like Edwards vs. Brutal Bob and matches with Caprice Coleman, Cedric Alexander and Matt Taven.

You really enjoy ROH doing badly don't you? It's kind of sad. I am disappointed for them though, drawing a crowd that low is not good. Hopefully business will pick up soon.

It's like they suddenly got money and that made them become lazy and incompetent.
Sad.

A generic Mickey from Rocky-esque manager for Mike Bennett. Has no point with Bennett. He is really sort of like some of the people who was with Simon Diamond at the end of ECW.

I want ROH to do well, but I think the recent IPPV blunders may have been the beginning of the end (or the middle of the end, depending on who you talk to)

Would it be nice to have the old ROH? Sure. But by all reports Cary Silkin took a financial beating keeping the company running. I'll take the current product (which still provides a number of quality matches and shows) over nothing.

A plane ticket from California to most cities on the east coast is only like $350.

I wish highspots would buy ROH already so the company can start working with DG again.

The ROH hate is funny. I look forward to people turning on PWG and Chikara.

One issue I feel is the lack of unique characters and and personalities. Tons of "angry, intense" wrestlers. It is bad, especially since apparently those three men were part of a strong match at the last ippv.
ROH shows how important a guy like Santino Marella is to WWE. A funny, unique talent that everyone can have fun with.

I think there is a list of things that hurt or are hurting ROH.
1.The initial HDNet tv run. It wasn't a good deal for ROH IIRC. It may not seem like much but a failed tv run for a wrestling promotion can be crippling.
2.The inclusive contracts. Again might not seem like a huge deal, but there are a bunch of workers out there ROH could use, but won't (at least consistently) because they feel they'll make more money being able to be true indy workers.
3. The St. Claire takeover. I remember not liking the deal when it happened (and thought everybody saying it would take ROH to the next level as being overzealous).
4. The ippv fiascos. Whether they are on ROH or not, it hurts the fan perception of the company and discourages them from buying future shows.
I also think (and have been saying for awhile) that ROH's roster just is not that good right now from an interest stand point. I've said in the past that I feel as though ROH management has had a tendency to run their company arrogantly, and I think now you are seeing that come back to bite them in the butt.

You got a right to hate ROH, but the whole beginning was unneeded, OP. Made you look like a dick.

A funny, unique talent that everyone can have fun with. You hit the nail right on the head. Lots of guys in tights who do moves, without much to their character or gimmick that differentiates one from the other. Not everyone is a fan of Colt Cabana's act, but at least he is something different. They cast him aside, and are benching a character the fans love in El Generico because they don't want to pay for his flight. More important to save a couple hundred bucks (a dozen or so tickets or DVDs per night over a two show weekend) than have the guys on the show who will be unique.
