I started watching wrestling in 1993 and I was completely enamored with the product in 1994. I know people talk about how awful this year was for the company, but I have a lot of nostalgic love for just about anything from 1994. Truth be told, I think there were a ton of great matches this year.
With that being said, what are your top 5 matches from 1994?

I feel 1994 (along with 1992 and maybe 1991) was the best time for the WWF in terms of matches. May not have been a "hot product" at the time, but there were definitely some great matches that took place, and you've listed them.

IMO, WM X is one of the best examples of booking.
I think the year started off exciting, but by the end it just fell on it's face. Probably the best year of the "New Generation".

I think the list here is pretty concise, but do you think I missed any?

I think 94 IT was a really good year, now 95....that's another story for another day... I voted for Bret vs Backlund. Match was pretty damn good, but it was Owen that made that match. PLEASE, THROW IN THE TOWEL!!! I also love how backlund goes bat shit crazy when the Fink announces ' THE NEWWWW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION!!!'

Since I was 2 in 1994, I've only seen a handful of these matches. My favourites were Razor/Shawn from WMX and Bret/Owen from the same event. Bret/Owen was my favourite of the two. I wasn't really a fan of their cage match though.

Bret/1-2-3 kid is one of my favorite matches ever.
A terrific example of how awesome Sean Waltman was before injuries derailed him

Just watched a ton of 1994 recently. Lots of TV gems. I think my favorite was the Kliq tag title match on the Action Zone with Razor & Kid vs. Diesel & Shawn. They just did a lot of crazy stuff and worked some things that weren't in the traditional tag team format. One of the best tag matches I've ever seen.

Owen/123 Kid was awesome for such a short match, but Bret/Backlund at SummerSlam would be my fav.

Bret Hart/Owen Hart(WrestleMania X), Submission Match: Bret/Backlund (Survivor Series), Ladder Match: Razor/Shawn (WrestleMania X), Falls Count Anywhere: Macho Man/Crush (WMania X), Bret Hart/Yokozuna (WrestleMania X)
but I'm just going off of memory --- I haven't seen most of the choices in over a decade

1. HBK/Razor Ladder at WM X 2. Bret/Owen Cage at Summerslam 3. Bret/Owen at WM X 4. Bret/123 Kid at Raw 5. Owen/123 Kid at KOTR
BUT! I have never seen Bret and Owen vs. The Steiners. So...that might be in there because that's probably awesome.

I know this off topic, but there was an Arn Anderson/Ric Flair match in either '94 or '95, and the WCW guys including Brian Pillman were in the front row while the match was going on. It was slow, technical, 80s style and I loved it, probably my favourite WCW match from the time that didn't involve Mick Foley in some way. Anyone know what match I'm referring to? It was on the Four Horsemen DVD.

So including only matches that received at least 10 votes, it seems we have voted the best matches of 1994 to be: 1. Bret Hart/Owen Hart (WrestleMania X) 2. Ladder Match: Razor/Shawn (WrestleMania X) 3. Cage Match: Bret Hart/Owen Hart (SummerSlam) 4. Bret Hart/1-2-3 Kid (RAW 7/11) 5. 1-2-3 Kid/Owen Hart (King of the Ring) 6. Bret & Owen/Steiners (Coliseum taping 1/11) 7. Submission Match: Bret/Backlund (Survivor Series) 8. Razor & 1-2-3 Kid/Shawn & Diesel (Action Zone 10/30) Notes: -Meltzer awarded 5 stars to both No.1 and No. 3. Why the Razor/Shawn Ladder Match didn’t receive 5 stars is clearly still a mystery. -With the exception of said Ladder Match and the Action Zone Kliq match, each of these matches include either Bret or Owen Hart. 5/8 feature Bret, 4/8 feature Owen, and 3/8 include both of them. It's worth noting that although he's technically not featured in the match, Owen does in fact play a key role in the Bret/Backlund match. -Interesting that the Bret/Backlund Submission Match from Survivor Series ranked higher than their highly praised 7/30 Superstars match. -Also interesting that Bret & Owen/Steiners ranked so high despite the fact that it wasn’t aired on pay-per-view or television. I doubt that would ever happen today. -1-2-3 Kid & Jannetty/Quebecers from 1/10 RAW and Tatanka/Owen Hart from King of the Ring are the only matches from the list of 21 options that received 0 votes. Meltzer awarded the tag match 3 ½ stars and the KOTR match 3 ¼, respectively. I think 94 IT was a really good year, now 95....that's another story for another day... The day has arrived haha: officialfan.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=wrestling&thread=438886
