She was fine. As long as she doesnt go into Teddy Long levels of crowd pandering, or Vickie Guerrero levels of "tired old heel authority" Im fine.

I don't want AJ as GM. I no longer want anyone as GM, face or heel. I want the "vindictive, meddling, micromanaging matchmaker" concept to die in blazing fire so that we might return to the halcyon days of Jack Tunney and his ilk, before the success of Mr. McMahon made it a rule that we must always have an authority figure who constantly reminds us that he or she is still there. There was a time when pro wrestling got by just fine without that sort of omnipresent character, where the president or championship committee or what-have-you would interject only when it was important to the story. Outside of that, you'd never see hide nor hair of them. The angles were still good, everything still made sense. If the WWE braintrust could remember how to write their product that way, maybe they could throw a bone to their wrestlers who have nary an angle to their name, given the cumulative time that would be freed up on the shows. In the case of tonight's Raw you'd free up about 2 minutes. Get rid of half the recaps and you free up enough time for another feud.

I feel you. There's nothing wrong with the authority figure character, but any good thing can be over saturated. I would really welcome a return to a show without one for a nice long stretch.

In the case of tonight's Raw you'd free up about 2 minutes. Get rid of half the recaps and you free up enough time for another feud. Yeah, they need to pare down the recaps as well. Still, I'd take two minutes setting up a simple program for Yoshi Tatsu over two minutes worth of several "hello, I'm here again and making a decision" type segments. The concept just feels done to death, and I was hoping Raw 1000 would set things in a reasonably fresh direction rather than rehashing the same shtick with a new face.

I'd just like to point out that AJ DID in fact wear glasses at one point on Raw for like 2 seconds when Daniel Bryan went into her office.

I've been so put off by her past appearances that I'm over it. I didn't hate her stuff tonight, but I'm just tired of her in general.

Sad to say, like many other awful things that drag WWE down, Vince really seems to love the on-screen authority figure, so it's probably never going to go away until he does, which is gonna be a long time.

It's not just Vince. It happens in TNA and ROH, too.

The ironic thing is that AJ seems to be booked like I'd like a GM to be booked(I mean, if we HAVE to have an on screen GM) but it just makes no sense that it's AJ. This is basically WWE showing their hand in that they know they have a hot commodity with AJ but they don't know what to do with it. She's got a notch against her already because she's a woman. How do you gratify a woman getting over in the WWE? Because the Divas Championship isn't it, so GM is the accolade of choice but it just doesn't make any sense. I'll take away the qualifications argument because what qualifies a lot of guys for anything in WWE doesn't often make sense, but she's not even the same character anymore. Punk and AJ ended the show at each others' throats as if the whole love triangle never happened.
I was on the fence of the AJ overkill backlash, I was getting there, I agreed they needed to dial it down, but they just instead completely changed it. It's really like they booked it to be someone else, that someone couldn't make it so they just went with AJ. I just don't get the thought process.

She and Bryan both killed it all tonight long. I will never get the hate for her by the IWC, she plays her role absolutely perfect and has the best facials of any diva they've ever had. Love her vindictive ways tonight using her power to get even if the guys she feels crossed her.

I don't understand what people are talking about when they say AJ's a bad actor. That segment looks perfectly fine to me. The head movements are a bit exaggerated, but that's just part of her character.

^ I honestly think AJ's one of the better actors in WWE history, especially amongst the Divas.

^ I honestly think AJ's one of the better actors in WWE history, especially amongst the Divas. I absolutely agree with you. I don't know why people saying that she's a bad actor became the thing to say. When she said to Punk "you weren't paying attention to me?" a few weeks ago on Raw was one of the more heartbreaking line readings I've ever heard on WWE TV. I just want to know who they are comparing who to that is supposed to be a much better actor than AJ is as far as Divas go?. The only diva that I have thought was a better actor is gone now, and that is Maxine, and that was just during that time she was working with Johnny Curtis on NXT.

I cant stand AJ but i guess she looks good so theres that, still all she does is steal Bryans catchphrase and skip, but now can make matches, and wear suit, and to many that makes her the best in the company. I wont knock her fans at all, just i cant see the fascination with AJ at all, apart from her cuteness which is always the thing i hear most when hearing about her.

^ According to Meltzer, ratings have been up tremendously with the teenage male demographic since AJ has been a major part of the show (especially for her segments). And that's one reason why she's being pushed so hard.

Ive really enjoyed AJ up to this point, and think she was awesome during the Punk/Bryan/Kane stories, but I got annoyed with her FAST last night. By the final segment I never wanted to see her again.

Because she does more than steal Bryan's catchphrases and skip. The central reason that I can see for anyone saying "she's the worst actor in WWE" (which is ridiculous) is that they simply want her off the screen but can't find a legitimate reason why. So instead of attacking the character; they instead now attack the actual person which in my book, is a step too far.

The more I think about it the more I like the move of making her GM. You can advance two major stories and characters in Punk and Bryan, while giving her interactions with other roster members to add to the main storylines.
