Not so much VHS tapes, but I definitely don't miss having to record with tapes. Today you hit one button and it records for you, tapes were a pain in the ass to record with. What I used to hate was having to guess if you had enough tape or not. You'd think you did then you'd record something and then when you watched it, the tape would cut off half-way through. Put me down for hating the Clone Saga as well. I don't collect comics anymore but in the 90s they drove me up the wall with the "special cover" craze. I didn't really mind the 90s all that much. It seems like the last decade that had any identity to it (good or bad).

Everything being huge and clunky. Phones, computers, clothes, physical media, cameras, just everything was so damn huge.

Mp3 players. Most kids in my school had them, they looked big and stupid then and still do now. The worst part? The kids would try and HIDE those stupid things.

The totally needless culture of cynicism and apathy. Seriously, the Cold War just ended, the economy was booming, and technology was growing by leaps and bounds. Compare that to today, when the economy is in a toilet and war and terrorism are rampant. You're going to pick the former as the best time to feel cynical and angsty? It's funny because in Canada everyone is getting cynical now when the economy is booming here and it was shitty in the 90's for us. Or maybe I'm getting older I don't know.

I dont recall seeing them until 2000 at most, and theyre pretty much are still THE way to listen to music for the most part (at least portable music).

Portable cassette/cd players: I mainly used a cassette walkman, thought cassettes worked better for portability, but still id have to carry a couple tapes in my backpack for some variety. I love my mp3 player, its so small Camera's: I certainly do not miss taking pictures, not seeing what was taken, then going to the local Eckerd (which rite aid swallowed), and having to get a roll of film developed. And havin someone else prob lookin at the pictures, and gettin them (it would be either get 1 hour or get it the next day or so since that would be cheaper), digital camera's (and obv cell phones, but I prefer a digital cam for takin lots of pics) ill think of more

I don't know about personal MP3 players. But I do remember the Mini Disc player. A media that I guess did not really take off. I don't know much about them, but you can record and store data on this cartridge that is kind of like a cross between a CD and a floppy disc en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mini_Disc

Grunge music and all of its offspring. I guess it really depends on the offspring, but if you're hating regular grunge music... And as annoyingly slow that dial up was, I still miss that login sound.

I don't miss all of the websites that lost their businesses. That was sad about the dotcom businesses in the late 90s-2001. Also, I don't miss some of the music that wasn't fun to listen to or a guilty pleasure. I also don't miss a lot of the Attitude Era.

My clip is fine (I dont clip it just put it in my pocket) but I cant lower my volume, as the bottom of the volume switch is pressed in now. So I just go to music eq and switch between custom and normal to lower/higher the volume. I have the 4gb model, with 4gb micro sd card, im thinkin of gettin a bigger micro sd card so I can fit more music.

Really don't miss dial-up for internet connections
Don't miss any of the 90's Image comics or Image-inspired extreme stuff.
Don't miss the little era in WWE...from '95 to about '97 or so. Shawn was champ and his attitude was running rampant, Nash and Hall were getting ready to leave, so their matches sucked, Bret Hart was there...but gone. Austin was the Ring Master, Undertaker was in his "your urn has been stolen by the Corporation!" phase, the Godwins were on the rise...just a bad year for WWE.
Shows like Friends and Rosanne.
A lot of the convoluted and horrible X-men storylines that were coming out at the time. Throw in the Avengers storylines at that period too. This is specifically the mid to late 90's...the early 90's period was still pretty good, IMO.

I had one. It was ok. I never wanted it, but got it for Xmas. Didn't use it often, but it was ok. I've only had an iPod for like two months now, so portability of music isn't a big concern of mine.
