This shoudln't have been an issue in the first place, but glad they took care of it. All Vince had to do was give them a nice paycheck and they could have kept their name. Especially as it had to cost a lot to blur all that footage.

Yeah, that's true. I hope they did for their sake.

There would be no reason to get rid of the original source material. That's what is used to make each updated version. Just because they have to change music or blur things doesn't mean they have to throw out or erase the original.

They can't afford for anybody to get the wrong idea and think they're glorifying a monster, . Showing his matches is not = glorifying him

If they destroyed the original source material that would pretty much solidify Vince's status as the George Lucas of wrestling.

Especially as it had to cost a lot to blur all that footage. Plus that paycheck would've been going to a charity, not some other money-hungry corporation. Anyway I am so happy about this news, what a relief.

Does this mean they could actually go back to being the WWF now?
Not that it'd really be worthwhile to do, wonder if they considered it though.

Personally I think it would be a shame if Vince didn't get a deal worked out for the Road to Wrestlemania XXX where they once again become the World Wrestling Federation with World Wrestling Entertainment being the parent company...or whatever they are these days. It's still WWF to a lot of people. It's not to me anymore, and I don't just mean in name. Until they bring back actual words like "wrestling" they may as well keep calling the current product "WWE" BUT For anyone from the era where they actually worked for the "WWF" they should call it that. It kinda irks me how a wrestler from that time after getting inducted into the Hall of Fame invariably refers to their time in "The WWE" That should never happen again.

^^Yeah it's a similar thing in football, the modern and old names of the leagues are used interchangeably no matter what generation you are from.
What I could do without is Mean Gene's insistence of saying "entertainment" no matter how ridiculous" it sounds.
As for a name change I think it's a useful thing to keep in the locker, if they ever go through another difficult period where they're in danger of going out of business a return to the WWF would generate interest.
