Battleship has made $140 million so far. You mean people enjoy movies and don't take things too seriously? Wow.

It's Liam Neeson and the navy fighting aliens.
How is that not interesting?

It's Liam Neeson and the navy fighting aliens. How is that not interesting? Because of the part where it looks retarded.

Update:
"American Battleship" is now known as "American Warships" and will still be airing on SyFy.
Honestly, it's an easy change for them to make now, considering all the free publicity given to them by the attempted lawsuit. They're no longer "ripping off" and yet...people still know of it.

First, enjoyable is a matter of opinion. Second, have you actually seen it? I haven't seen it but maybe I'd enjoy it for what it is, a popcorn flick. This flick wouldn't be taking nearly as much bashing if it didn't have the stupid game tie-in.

Yeah, I saw it on the shelf at Wal-Mart. At first, I just glanced over it then realized "Oh, I bet that's the Asylum knockoff that just got renamed".

With Battleship possibly warranting other Hasbro game movies, I think we all know what needs to come next:
*A private sees various fields and houses are torn apart in a small town*
Soldier: What the hell?
*Shadow of a monster of some sort looms over a small farm animal, cut to black & there's a pained scream*
*In a war room a leader speaks*
General: Gentlemen what we have here is a creature: giant, tough, and deadly.
*Scientist looks at giant claw print in the ground*
Scientist: Troops alone can't stop this thing. We need something more.
*A large machine blueprint is spread on the table*
Scientist: It will be the most elaborate animal capture device in existence.
*A soldier on duty gets attacked off screen while another injured one watches*
Soldier: It was some type of rat or something.
Scientist: We need to act now.
*A vast Rube Goldberg esque machine gets constructed during the day*
*A terrifying squeal is heard in the distance*
Lookout: Something's coming!
*A quick blur of a monster runs across screen*
Scientist: It's time.
*General examines the machine which includes a large net*
General: What is this thing, doctor?
Scientist: This is... Mouse Trap.
*Cu to black screen with white text reading Coming Next Summer*

Actually, one possible good thing about Battleship doing well would be that some of the lesser known hasbro properties might actually get live action takes. With the right scripts, films based off of laser tag, visionairies, C.O.P.S.,Inhumanoids, M.A.S.K., and Jem could probably be pretty good.

To be honest , I enjoy craptastic asylum films more then ninety percent of the new movies America puts out.
Meh I'll just stick with my K and J Horror and the occasional Lynch/Von Trier/Noe Release.

Got retweeted by The Asylum during the SyFy premiere. Now my biased self is destined to like it.

Funny that the Asylums version will more then likely pull more of a profit then the regular version.

Who needs to spend money on special effects when you've got Richard Grieco walking?
