"City at War" was really good. They managed to squeeze a ton of story advancement in it without it feeling in any way rushed or like they glossed over something, and we still got a few kick-ass action sequences out of it too. I'm impressed.
Very curious to see how the new season plays out from here.

I'm just happy to see Rahzar & Tiger Claw again. Hated the whole space season.
Also, they might be going the Super Shreder route this season.
Finally, I'm still surprised that some of the ideas from the 2003 series, like Bishop, remain a fair part. I actually like the 03 series more than this, but this series ain't bad.

It was a good episode, to be honest been so long I forgot what happened to Shredder, they should have done a recap at the beginning to catch us up, than again they are not in charge in Nickelodeon's schedule, so how were they suppose to know about a long hiatus.
Nice to see April graduate this is not the April O'Neil from the old 80's cartoon, this is the anti 80's April O'Neil who is not going to be a damsel in distress if she can help it. I like it.
Shinigami seems like a cool new character, I wonder if she is going to get mutated. Good thing Karai didn't follow my suggestion when she got unbrainwashed which was pretend to be brainwashed and take down Shredder from the inside, that wouldn't have worked since Tiger Claw if the worm is in effect or not.
And nice little character moment at the end, when Karai acknowledges Shredder's influence on her, when she said she knew her desire for vengeance was more like Shredder like Splinter, she came to grips part of Shredder is still in here and will probably always be in her. No mater how much she hates him, he molded her upbringing and that will always be there. And Karai not wanting to truly ally with Splinter and the Turtles, in her mind she knows she is going to do some shady stuff and doesn't want to drag her father and his students down that dark path that she has chosen.
I think the April and Shinigami rivalry is not done, I am sure down the line April is going to want to prove to herself that she as good as Shinigami, and god help us if Casey meet Shanigami and showed any attraction.

Broken Foot
I thought were done with LeoxKarai, that is kind of his sister, I know not by blood, but still. But I love their little banter, they are perfect for each other, if I can just get past that weird adaptive relationship.
Anyway this was a great episode, we continue where we left off last week, the difference is the Turtles they fight for good and justice, Karai and her team they just want vengeance, not that they are bad people, but when the type of differences, it is hard to have a effective team up even you have a common enemy.
I do love the character development Karai had, she was concerned for Donnie's well being, and felt bad he was hurt, the old Karai wouldn't have done that.
I wish the Turtles would tell her about their little time travel trip, they meet her mother.
These last two episodes have great, way better than the first half other season, the Sci Fi episodes don't really interest me, it is the New York grid episodes that deal with the ninja aspect, is when I feel the show is at its best, but that is just my opinion.

The gangster in "Mutant Gangland" sure seemed to be inspired by Razor Ramon. "Hey you", a toothpick and stubble

New episode premieres today. Titled "Super Shredder". Shit is on, folks. Shit is on (or at least it will be in an hour for those of us in the eastern time zone)!

I just tuned into Nickelodeon and SpongeBob SquarePants is on. And scrolling through the menu on my television says the episode aired at nine this morning (so two hours ago). What the hell?!

FYI, the show is now Sundays at 9 am. Until the schedule monkeys change their mind again. Alas...no Kevin Nash doing Super Shredder's voice. SS is kind of spooky minus the painfully 2D beating heart. Also, {Spoiler}{Spoiler} who's "died" more: Splinter on this series, or Optimus Prime in general? ALLLLLLLLLLLVIN! and the Chipmunks. Slogan: at least we aren't the Jason Lee movies.

Did you know who the voices of the olders brothers in "One Of The Boys"? It was the Turtles themselves. Nice to see some support between fellow shows.
I do hope in season 2, some of the other Loud sisters get some romantic plots,I am so excited to see Lynn get her first crush.

Finally caught the episode on demand after being caught with my pants down with the time slot change. Here's Andre from Black Nerd Comedy's review of the episode. He does briefly reference Big Sexy.

I wonder if they plan on normalizing Shredder again (since the ooze was unstable). I can't see the Super Shredder being the long term main heel.

Well they didn't milk the whole Splinter is dead plot, which I think is a nice surprise, if you are not going to kill him, they don't troll us, I can respect that.
I knew the Rat King was a fake and it was all in Splinter's mind. He might be alive, but he is not in good shape and separated from his loved ones. At least in the end, things worked out, but Splinter is not going to be doing any fighting for a long time.
The really bad news Super Shredder is still alive and is not injured that much. He is the most OP character in the show at the moment, we can't have him be at 100%, so I am glad he is injured at the end, or else there is no reason why Shredder not just win right now.
Bebop and Rocksteady their relationship is how do you say complex, that is all I can say. Oh boy.
What I was waiting for a long time, is we got a true April and Karai team up, giving their history, I am glad they put that behind them, though I still want at some point a Girls Night type of episode that strictly April and Karai be the main protagonist of an episode and actually be forced to talk things out, and they do have stuff in common especially with having lost their mothers. Also I need that Karai gives April the validation, the thumbs up of a fellow fighter moment, giving during the first two seasons most of the encounters was Karai putting April down as a fighter, April has earned it. And April could use a female friend, someone that is not really Krang Sub Prime in disguise. What can I say I am a sucker for female rivals turned allies trope. Keep my fingers that is going to happen with a couple of Quartz solders on Steven Universe fingers crossed.
Anyway great wrap up to the two part episodes, I don't know why they didn't air last week's and this week's episode together.

I said it on another board but I'll repeat it here, I'm very surprised to see them adapt the "Splinter haunted by the Rat King's ghost" story from the Mirage Comics. That was a story so dark even the 2003 series wouldn't touch it. I wonder if they plan on normalizing Shredder again (since the ooze was unstable). I can't see the Super Shredder being the long term main heel. I was thinking, what if when they find a way to reverse Super Shredder, they not only cure him but manage to revert him to his appearance from before he was burned. Between this rejuvenation and him being utterly rejected by his "daughter" it makes him genuinely realize what kind of person he's become and lead him to try to find some form of redemption. I don't think a story like that has ever been done in the Turtles franchise before.
