Ok so im sure everyone will hate on this, but just watched the Cm Punk DVD and after expecting to be blown away by "the best wwe dvd ever" i was left filling very disappointed....
Everyting in the DVD was things us fans have known forever ( hes straight edge, how he got his name, hes from chicago, he likes punk music)...blah blah I already knew all that! Atleast to me i expected this dvd to full dive into his childhood, right when you start to think it will when they mention his family life, it basically stops! I understand he wasnt close to them but why? what was his unbringing?,.. not just the "dad drank..so thats it"
I expected the dvd also to dive into his personal life as well not jsut his professional life. For a WWE dvd to to mention ROH, IWA etc etc...they just happened to skip the part about his TNA stay. I know TNA is their competition but since this dvd was suppose to be completely honest and straight fwd....why no mention of his time in TNA? Up until the WWE, TNA was his height of exposure, not just ROH.
What about his history with the ladies? Who hes dated, why it didn't work out, whys hes a "better friend"...then boyfriend! I know they had his one time girlfriend interviewed in it, but why just her? why didn't it discuss why they didn't work out, what about LITA?, all the other rumors? They can discuss backstage things, yet not one mention about Punks numerous Gf's, or rumored girlfriends? Would have fit in perfect when they were mentioning the Chick Magnet thing.
After watching the DVD, I don't feel as if it was really anything special or ground breaking about it? Yes, some of the old footage was nice, but for a man whose had such a crazy career, and was the "king of the Indy's" as they called him, why not discuss that more? Also, why not talk more about his time in OVW, other than Brent Albright his matches with Albright.
Overall, i would give it about a 5/10...The interviews with Cabana, Punk, and Chris Hero all to me seemed to be information everyone knows, ( colt and punk are good friends, same with Hero)...Also, really having the dude from Rancid on it so much really seemed pointless to me as well! I DID enjoy when it got a little more personal and hearing Hawkins, and His "sister"s tell their stories about him always staying at their house growing up. It needed to be more PERSONAL and really in depth into his life!
VERY LET DOWN.

I don't recall him doing anything in TNA worth a damn for it to be mentioned.

I tough the information about Punk rise from OVW to Champion, how everyone tough about him,Vince not thinking he could be Heel,Joey Mercury history of the house, how the pipebomb came to life. Everything is great. And not everyone knew.
You are probably one of the few that was let down by it

So, you wanted the dirt and sleaze that you know Punk wouldn't put on his own DVD.

Here it goes...
When a dvd comes out thats suppose to be completely open and honest pertaining to the career of someone like CM PUNK you would expect a big back story, not just a half ass attempt like in the DVD. I mean watch the Joh Cena dvd, you get a big back story about his family, his days in high school...his college days..etc etc leading up to UPW, then OVW, it goes very deep into his desire to be a wrestler and all the steps he took along the way..you get UPW footage, OVW footage......and this is for the end all be all face of the WWE John Cena, the "perfect" image of what the WWE wants.
You look at the Rock's dvd and it to, goes deeper into his family life, his ex wife is even on it.....I wasnt a huge fan of the rocks dvd but even it went in deeper and this is for a former wrestler turned actor whos only coming back now to promote movies and make $$$.
Its not wanting gossip, its wanting a dvd to deliver what it promises, the whole dvd talks about how Punk wants a change and how hes not like everyone else, then PROVE IT. Open up, talk about your struggles, talk about your full history..if your going to talk about wrestling in a barn, is it so hard to say "my biggest exposure came when for a brief period of time i wrestled for one of of competitors down in florida"...blah blah, doesnt have to mention TNA...That would have been a perfect way to bring up his programs he was having with Raven in TNA and ROH...would have again made the dvd have a better florw and seem more honest.
If your going to talk about a dirty hat and how you worked at a comic book store, how is opening up about past relationships gossip? Why not just dulge into it and say how he hasnt been able to have a steady gf because his love for the business, then BAM there LITA and she can address the rumors, when showing the OVW stuff with Albright it shows Maria, why not address those rumors?
If your gonna have a dvd about CM PUNK...these are things that played a big part into his wrestling/non wrestling career...why not mention them?

Considering Punk hated his time in TNA, that was probably left out at his request. I don't recall him doing anything of importance there at all anyway.
The only way you're going to hear about his relationships behind the scenes is if he ever releases a biography (and if he choses to be honest). That has no place on a career DVD.

He had a total of 17 matches in less than a year... most of them lower card things without a storyline
the few that had a storyline were in The Flock rip off group The Gathering which really had no purpose.
And all of this time amounted to ... nothing really.
It's a footnote in his career and he absolutely hated his time there, which is one of the reasons why he chose RoH over it when the Feinstein thing happened.

CM Punk did barely anything of note in TNA besides getting into a fight with Teddy Hart. There was really no reason to bring it up.

And yeah, wanting to know information on who he dated and what he thought of them is gossip, and really not important when talking about him as a professional wrestler.

His time in TNA was inconsequential to the point that the only thing less relevant to his career retrospective is which women he has slept with.

Someone has ants in their pants or something. What the hell did you expect? You seriously expected them to mention TNA?
Punk has voiced his utter disdain for TNA. He hated TNA and working there. Why would he even want it mentioned? It's not like anything of note happened.
Somehow I'm not surprised Smarky McSmark a lot is complaining.

Punk will put all that in a book down the line where he has more control (and can make more $ for himself)

I was going to give you a full response, but I decided not to waste my time since you're probably just a troll. Punk's DVD did go into his past, why he became interested in wrestling, and at least half, if not more, of it was footage of OVW and IWA.

I've never seen a wrestling DVD where a wrestler talks extensively about his sexual history. It's not anyone's business. (Except for Edge/Lita/Hardy, but that became a key storyline in Edge's career).
And to be completely honest - I'd be put off it all that were included.

I enjoyed it. It was still a WWE production. It's amazing how "indie" it got, all things considered.

I think it was a big enough accomplishment for WWE to mention ROH and reference Punk's indy career. Granted, I've only seen a handful of WWE biographies and I can't think of anyone else that they showed their indy career. The best example I can think of is the old school guys who worked territories and even then, it is mostly their work from now WWE owned companies....

I'm not really sure what you expected. It was every bit as good as Edge, Austin, and Rock's latest documentaries.
