That's a fair point, but there's a difference between following a really cool performance and an Oscar-winning performance by a dead man. The comic community is always going to gripe about change, but the backlash for whoever follows Ledger (and someone will...they're obviously not going to just never use The Joker again) is going to be monumental. The only real way there will be any backlash that might effect the movie's gross is if they try to play it like Ledger. I agree with this. They could play it up like the classic Joker, or find some kind of middle ground; 75% Nicholson, 25% Ledger, it could work. Sure, people will complain, that's inevitable, but as long as it's a more original interpretation of the Joker, and not riding the Ledger "wave", it should be good. Wait, wait. Just had an idea. Batman Beyond movie. Yes! I've been waiting for a Batman Beyond live-action movie since the show's debut. I know the obstacle would be to make Terry's less memorable Rogues Gallery into something that IS memorable for the big screen, but in the hands of a talented team of writers and directors, it could work. Spellbinder, Blight, Royal Flush Gang, even Mad Stan, all have potential to be entertaining villains for a movie.

So here's the question, let's say Arkham Asylum was the way they were gonna go(It's likely not, I know, but a man can dream). Who would you have playing, arguably, the two most important villains in Joker and Ivy?

Don't be so sure this is the end. Nolan and Bale both initially swore off the genre, but they recently softened and said they may consider returning to it eventually. My guess is WB/DC made them both s tender offer to be involved in a future Justice League project.

If there's one thing I don't wanna see, especially as a comparison to the REALLY fun Avengers movie, it's a brooding, overly serious Justice League.

She's pretty and she can switch gears (sultry/goofy/psycho) pretty easily.

If they went Dark Knight Returns, Tim Curry should be the Joker. He already almost was for the animated series, he'd be age appropriate for an older Joker, and hell his Frank N. Furter make-up was pretty close as well.

In the not too distant future.
News Reporter: The Dark Knight Rises has pulled in an astonishing 2.7 BILLION dollars worldwide.
Christopher Nolan: Well......I did have this see this thing as a 4 parter the entire time.

Not sure if random, but I'd like to see Ben Foster give The Joker a shot.

Would it be too much to ask for maybe some cloth uniforms?

I hope it would be a Dark Knight Returns adaption. Michael Keaton in the suit one more time , just to bring it full circle. And And the return of the best batmoible...not in the exact same way but supped up of course.

I'd like to see "The Dark Knight Returns" with Keaton as Batman in the same continuity as "Batman" and "Batman Returns" with Chloe Grace Mertz as Carrie Kelly and Michelle Pfiffer as Selina Kyle.
I'd also like to see "Batman Beyond" with Adam West as Bruce based on the 60's Batman continuity (Idk just an idea I'd like). The contrast between the world Bruce fought crime in and the one Terry does would be fun at least to me.

I would like to see an "Under the Red Hood" live action film. All they would have to do is extend it and change the ages a little. I think it would be a great movie unless they screw it up. They'd probably screw it up.

Would it be too much to ask for maybe some cloth uniforms? It doesn't make sense though, not with how realistic film and tv is now. It would take the bad guys having aim worse than the storm troopers to have Bats survive a single film, never mind the potential 2 or 3 that he'd be in.

Campy 60s Batman remake, full of tongue in cheek humor, and complete with the gray and blue Batsuit with eyebrows. The hardcore fanboys would want my head, but it would be glorious.

They'd probably screw it up. Of all the characters from the Batman mythos, I think the only one that hasn't actually been mentioned in much outside media is Red Hood, so I'd LOVE to see him make it. I love Jason.
