If true, then... YES! I'd kill for a PPV in the UK. In my opinion, it has to be Cardiff or Wembley. Although, St. James' Park would be rather nice so I don't have to travel far

Lol, all this means is the return of Insurrection.
I cannot see them doing a PPV of any meaning here as, unless they did something absolutely HUGE that people may have read spoilers for and still want to pay to see, they wouldn't be able to get away with the timings.
What's the latest they could legitimately do an event start here if they still planned to air the PPV live? 9pm?
That'd be a PPV airing at 4pm EST and 1pm PST. I can't see them wanting to do that, although it is possible that more people might buy it at the time if they aim for a family show on a Sunday afternoon?

It would be a great way to heighten interest and enthusiasm in a show that normally wouldn't have been that big a deal, like the June PPV or something like that. Where they're not risking one of their larger buyrates by having the US broadcast at an unusual time or taped.

It won't be Mania, so it will most likely be SummerSlam. I think this is a precursor to a future Mania on these shores, and this is more testing the water in the current climate.

I would love to see a Mania or SS in the UK. The atmosphere would probably be unreal just because they never get something like this.

Whatever PPV it is, i'd do my best to be there! I can see it being Summerslam, Wrestlemania, or one of the stronger B PPV's like Money in the Bank as well.

It's almost certainly Summerslam as the British summer next year is on a Sunday in August.

Wembley is also very expensive for visitors at least, not just the actual stadium but London accommodation and transport takes the ****. Manchester and Cardiff would be the more fan-friendly choices, with Old Trafford being arguably the best known stadium in the country (at least after Wembley) and the closest in terms of size/attendance, whilst the Millennium Stadium is one of the best venues in the UK also. I expect Wembley would be the winner if they did decide to host a PPV here, but there are still many obstacles to overcome for that to happen. But as I said above, London IS the easiest place in the UK to travel from most places in the country in terms of transport links. As I said- there are REASONS why all these things (sports stadium, Olympics, big events etc) tend, generally, to be in London. Not withstanding the fact that it's because you have 9m people in greater London and 9m people in the south-east, making it by far the most densely populated area in the country too. Plus it's easier for an event like WWE to advertise itself in London. I was more making a point on the expense of transport rather than questioning the effectiveness of London transport - they have obviously had massive investment for a long time in getting that aspect right. The point is more that the FA (predictably) made a mess of rebuilding the stadium and decided to take the same approach to their budget for construction as Man City take to their transfer budget - but without a multi-billionaire owner to cover them. This is one of the reasons the Wembley experience is so dear, regardless of if it's the Community Shield, league cup final, FA cup final (or semi-final, that's another argument altogether) or the ridiculously pricey Champions League final last year between Barcelona and United. This season's final I expect will be even more expensive. But of course this is all the more reason for WWE to choose Wembley - fans rocking up for a WWE PPV at Wembley will pay the prices asked, and Vince will get his cut from that. Supply and demand I guess.

Summerslam makes sense weather wise, though theyre doing Mania in New York at a cold time of year so anythings possible.
If they do go with the Millenium though they can close the roof so wont have to worry about weather. Hell mania would be amazing in Cardiff, I dont think the Motorpoint arena would be big enough for Raw the next night though

They COULD theoretically hold RAW in the stadium the next night using the same set. Failing that, the next best bet is the LG Arena in Birmingham or the Manchester Arena.

The MEN arena has, on occasion, had a later curfew (GNR finished at 2am, I remember Ricky Hatton having a late, late finish as well) so that could work. City of Manchester if you wanted an actual stadium. I kind of doubt whether they would sell out 80-90k tickets, whereas 40-50k is more doable.

They're booking Cardiff for the return of the People's Choice. But he's from nowhere near Cardiff. That would be like people claiming they're booking London so that Wade Barrett can fight in his hometown Yeah, because WWE are going to host a PPV in Bangor.

Why is it people think its beyond the realms of possibility that US audiences won't buy a PPV that starts before 8 o'clock?
Other sporting events are on all the time. Weekdays, weekends during the day. WWE PPVs used to be on all sorts of times.

I'd imagine they'd film Raw at the O2 the following day rather than leave it all overnight at Wembley. If it is Wembley they'd have to make sure it wasn't around the Community Shield match or a friendly weekend.

I usually enjoy when the WWE does TV in the United Kingdom. The crowd makes it a lot of fun. I'd definitely like to see them get a big show. They deserve it.

Unless they're going to tape it again, then Wembley is out of the question due to curfews. I would disagree. They could apply for an extended licence. All venues have curfews but from time to time all venues host events that have to breach those curfews. I've got more chance of wrestling in the main event than WWE getting an extended licence for Wembley Stadium. Brent Council only allow a certain number of shows a year, never allow more, and have only ever allowed granted two extended licences - Live Aid and Live 8. Lol, all this means is the return of Insurrection. I cannot see them doing a PPV of any meaning here as, unless they did something absolutely HUGE that people may have read spoilers for and still want to pay to see, they wouldn't be able to get away with the timings. The Millennium Stadium has hosted Joe Calzaghe fights at times aimed at a US audience, with main events at 3/4am local time, and pulled in 40,000 for a fight with a bum like Peter Manfredo.
