That would actually be amazing. Steiner's incoherent rambling may actually confuse Punk and stun him into silence for a little while. CM Punk... you might get the sympy of the people... but you don't get my sympy at all. With your (skinny) FAT ASS. Besides, I ain't 'fraid of you CM Punk. I wrestled a lotta countries!

This feud sucks. Punk is the most unlikable face in history. Seriously, he makes Rock look like Sting. Hell, at least Austin had the motivation of not changing the things about him that made him popular just because Vince didn't personally like it.
Punk has no real motivation for hating Ace. He has the same amount of motivation for hating Ace that Homer Simpson had of hating the dean at the college he went to. It also doesn't help that John L. is a boring, complete waste of space who only has flashes of entertainment. So, it only makes sense that Punk would bully him around.
I agree with Kitsune, put him with someone who won't take his bulls*** lying down that Ace did for the longest time.

I seriously wonder how many people would have found Austin to be an unlikable babyface back in the golden age of the attitude era. I was one of them. I couldn't get into Austin until he went into Paranoid "My name is Stone Cold Steve Austin, and I do NOT deserve this." mode.

Ace tried to screw him at MITB, fire him the next night on RAW, didn't give him his rematch for the title like he did ADR and screwed Punk in several match. That seems like plenty of motivation for hating him.

General incompetence. At least it seems like that was the direction they were going with that.

If someone is too stupid to do their job right and it screws with my work, I'd be pissed at you too.

No, it sucked. I loled when he called Laurinaitis ''vanilla''. The irony. How is that ironic? Please explain.

I actually like the new Face Punk.
I think it just works on a lot of levels, because it seems somewhat human.
Here you have a guy who worked his way up from the bottom in the Indies, made his name somewhere else, and rose to the occasion in the biggest stage there is, all with a huge chip on his shoulder. Justified or not, the Character sees the antagonist (Johnny L), as the epitome of the person who was holding him back while he was living off nothing and making nothing.
Makes for a terrible face, perhaps, but at least an interesting character. Nothing worse than "I do good things because I can." in an industry that's well known for ego.

I seriously wonder how many people would have found Austin to be an unlikable babyface back in the golden age of the attitude era. The thing is, Austin was a legitimate badass who even though ripped their opponent with words, never seemed like a whining bitch and did tons of stunners because, well, f*** them, stunner to everybody Punk reminds me more all this guys who keep reminding everyone how their tastes/music/ their childhood was better but that overall isn't that badass Plus, PUNK at times really buries their opponent, some of the dialogues from him are HHH worthy of berries

The problem isn't so much Punk being unlikable as it is his enemy not being vile enough. What's really making him come off as a bully is the delayed timing of Laurinaitis finally snapping and being more open with his targeting of Punk.
Ace playing a clueless dork is entertaining, and different from the norm of the usual GM character, but it doesn't make for a truly hateable antagonist. The fury of Punk's attacks would come off as a lot more understandable if Ace were more explicit about wanting to maintain the status quo.

It'd be even better if, playing into Ace's cluelessness, he actually wants to turn back the clock to the past. "Where's the Ultimate Warrior? Where's King Kong Bundy? Where's Papa Shango? Where's Akeem? That's what gets the WWE universe excited!"

To me Punk is a heel in every sense other than not getting booed. I'd also say he's probably the biggest bully in the company. If this were 10 years ago he'd be the top money heel.
On topic. No Ace should not have tried an ace crusha.

Punk is just annoying to me these days. If Johnny could've pulled off like, a picture perfect Ace Crusher, it would be awesome. It probably would've looked like s*** though, so I guess it's good they didn't.
That being said, I would still mark for a shitty Ace Crusher at RR.

Said this in the other thread, but Punk annoys me lately. It's not even a heel/face thing, but just the character. Ziggler was a total ass to Foley, but that promo fit his character. I guess I'm still holding on to the days of ECW Punk, where he was one of my favorites. Call me crazy, but I liked him more when his character wasn't too developed. *shrugs*

I desperately want Johnny Ace to destroy CM Punk. Nothing would be sweeter vengeance for the guy. Punk totally deserves an Ace beatdown.

Some of the most popular wrestlers and movie heroes of all time are assholes, too. It may speak something of the human race, but that's the kind of character adult males want to cheer for, because it's who many of us want to be. Hell, it's who I AM in real life.
