Before he pulled last night's Austin Act, he still came off as HHH Mk. II to me. The guy who "lives and breathes 'the business'", the guy who thrives on burying people (though HHH did it in the ring AND on the mic, and Punk only does it on the mic so far). The main difference is that while Hunter slept with the Boss's daughter, Punk took the Batista route and slept with everyone EXCEPT the boss's daughter. I get the feeling that he made a conscious shift to promo more like Austin because even he was becoming aware of how similar to HHH he was. Maybe he slept with the Boss's son in law and daughter? After all Trips is bi alot of things, just not lingual. Oh god, if they ran a Storyline where it was revealed that Punk got it on with HHH... ...that might be the greatest thing ever. Seriously. It would actually explain why Punk came back to support RAW after the "No Confidence" episode.

A souvenir of what happened the night before. ;D

Has there ever been a more unlikeable face than CM Punk is right now?? I mean the guy almost turned Johnny Ace face to me!! Just curious, since you're not the first person I read this from, but how? Ace has already screwed Punk over before, he's admitted he's intending to do it again. He's literally nothing but a brown nosing corporate stooge, in what nightmare bizarro world is he anyone at all to be sympathetic towards? He's even worse than 90s McMahon, since Ace is all the bad stuff of Mr. McMahon, plus McMahon at least admitted he was an evil jerk. JBL once said that the best heel is one who thinks he's a face. EVPoTRaIRGM Big Jonny's gift is he believes it so sincerely that he actually sucks you in. Untill you think about all the things he's done and you almost feel dirty. Absolutely brilliant work.

Punk only doesn't seem like a good babyface because he hasn't had a good heel to feud with yet. Cena and HHH were faces, Del Rio is boring and Ace doesn't really do anything evil (and if he does he does it in an incredibly subtle way). As much as it pains me to say it, they probably should have kept Mr. McMahon on tv and have him feud with Punk. It's unoriginal but at least Punk would have a REAL villian to play off of. Punk just needs someone to do something so despiciable to him that even the "he's acting like a smug prick" crowd can be won over to his side. First, you'll have to find someone with enough 'legitimacy' to survive when of Punk's burial jobs on the mic. (Jericho) Next. you have to find someone good enough on the mic to give it right back to him. (Jericho) Then, you'll have to find someone who can go in the ring well enough to hold up his end of a match in a blood feud. (Jericho) So you're saying he needs to feud with Chris Jericho?

So you're saying he needs to feud with Scott Steiner? Fixed That would actually be amazing. Steiner's incoherent rambling may actually confuse Punk and stun him into silence for a little while.

The thing I don't like about Punk's version of the anti-hero face is how he whines about people not being entertaining. He's the one that loves the term "wrestler" and not "entertainer", and it just seems like a lame way to rip on someone. He really needs better material sometimes. The promo last night was great because it was tying into a match for his title and his venom was justified. Punk's a lot better at promoting an actual match than just going for cheap insults "oh you wear a SUIT, you should be more like me I'm REAL", he just sounds like a teenager trying to pump himself up by saying screw "the man".

I have an idea how this is going to work itself out, and I see the Cena/Kane feud being integral. Cena "stands up for the bullied", Ace is tired of "being bulled", so Cena will "stand up" for him, Kane will be proen right, yet somehow Cena and Laurenitis will be presented as the babyfaces. Actually, barring the last part, this is a f***in GREAT idea. Remember Undertaker's awesome heel turn in 2002? Coming out while Vince was gonna make JR kiss his ass and cutting a promo on "respect", talking about how if anyone had kissed McMahon's ass more than anyone else over the years, it was him (Undertaker), how'd he'd always done what he was told, and then dropping the "Do you think you're better than me?" line and beating the hell out of JR? Minus the KMA Club of course, do that same turn with Cena, Punk and Johnny Ace. Cena comes out, seemingly to aid Punk, and cuts a promo on all of that. And in the end, Cena snaps, sick and tired of being disrespected, and sides with Johnny Ace, beating the s*** out of Punk out of nowhere. The thing with Cena is that he already IS the corporate champion, and this would only solidify it. They could do this after he destroys Kane at the Rumble, or they could have the Rock win at 'Mania and that be the final straw for Cena.

No, it sucked. I loled when he called Laurinaitis ''vanilla''. The irony.

Wasn't that crazy about it to be honest. He delivered it well, but Laurinatis's character is such a sorta pathetic non-entity trying to be the big boss that it almost looked like Punk was picking on him.

I don't think it's a lame attempt to rip on someone so much as it's a form of social commentary. He's a wrestler, first and foremost. You strip away all the brouhaha and you're left with wrestling. At the end of the day, the guy who can go in the ring without all the bells and whistles is who matters. As far as the "suit" stuff, well if he's railing against the system, he's going to say stuff like that. John isn't "real", he's phony and he's hiding behind that suit to puff out his chest and be the big man. Punk's calling him on all of it because he sees it, we all (well, most apparently) see it and no one likes a phony drone who uses his position as said suit to exert his power and push his preferences.

Punk couldn't be a good face to save his life!
The guy is a whiny douche since this summer, he made me root for every guys he faced...i was for Cena, Berto, and know i'm all for big Johnny..i almost (just almost) took Triple H side.
Don't get me wrong, he's a great talker, he delivers his lines a lot better than most of the roster...it's just that he"s not a face period...he did a carbon copy of heel Ziggler's promo on Foley.

I seriously wonder how many people would have found Austin to be an unlikable babyface back in the golden age of the attitude era.
