i don't think you can get suspended for 6 months for failing a wellness test, injury is legit.
It sucks, he's been on a roll with his in-ring performance. Hoping for a good recovery.

Personally I think WWE has built up enough stars in the past year to make up for an Orton-less Mania.
They now have Cena (who may turn heel), The Rock (for WM28 at least), a masked Kane, CM Punk, The Miz, deranged R-Truth, Sheamus, Daniel Bryan, heel-turning Big Show, Triple H if need be, Undertaker if he's ready to return, Wade Barrett, Dolph Ziggler, and of course Cody Rhodes.
It sucks that they now lost Orton, Khali, Mysterio, Sin Cara, Kharma, Christian, Henry, Del Rio, and Layla.

I'm wondering if we should just make one big "injuries" thread to keep track of these things.
Oh, and I don't think Khali can be counted as an injure, DZ. Think they just did that to write him off for good...or at least a good while.

Oh f***, I just realized... now Rey's going to be under even more pressure to cripple himself by coming back early in time for 'Mania.

I'll tell you, I'm kinda pumped at the prospect of Barrett and Bryan as the ME of SD for WM

Part of me still thinks that this could just be a huge work and Orton's gonna be a surprise entrant in the Rumble and win it at home.

So, if he's out for this long, it does suck. Orton also has been a bit stale, so he could view it as a positive to get himself fresh for a comeback.
As for WWE, they treat their roster for the most part like a bunch of losers, so they made their own mess. I think with Daniel Bryan getting the Title, it's more or less because they need to build new stars now. I mean, people think that D-Bry will lose the belt pretty quickly, but that would be a really dumb move, as they don't have much of a roster at the moment. They need guys at the top of the card, because most of the card are losers.
Let's look at the roster and who is regular featured, like, as not a generally a loser, is featured on television on a regular basis, and is an actual regular wrestler.
Air Boom Big Show Booker T CM Punk Cody Rhodes Daniel Bryan Dolph Ziggler John Cena Kane R-Truth Sheamus Ted Dibiase The Miz Wade Barrett Zack Ryder
Welcome to WWE in 2011 with your roster of 15 wrestlers. I think they're gonna start building up some guys from reading about Smackdown, but it's gonna take a long time. They don't feature some guys regularly on television for being to get used to them and remember them consistently.

I agree with most people saying Orton has been stale and how new people are able to step up etc..but damn has Orton been having some great matches all year. Every time Randy came out I knew I was in for some kind of wrestling treat regardless of who he was up against. And I'm going to miss all those great matches if indeed this six month recovery period is true.

It's worth noting with the wellness test thing, besides the year long wait the person also has to go to rehab.
This is clearly an injury, however, and hopefully if nothing else they don't waste Barrett off of this. Sucks Orton's injured but they could make Barrett huge, again, if they play this right.

I wonder if they panic like they did with Edge and relocate the Punk/Jericho feud to Smackdown.

Get well soon. Hopefully this will give someone an opportunity to become a bigger star and will let Orton be able to come back very fresh.

Get well soon. Hopefully this will give someone an opportunity to become a bigger star and will let Orton be able to come back very fresh. But their tendency isn't to let someone be built up, it's to move established guys, and they have "outs" to do that over the next couple of weeks. I can't believe they would allow a DB/Barrett semi-ME at WM, for example. They could just have Jericho job Punk next week, and then take off to Smackdown, win the Smackdown title say at the Rumble, and have Punk win the Rumble. He chooses Jericho. And that's the end of that. A couple of established guys get cut off at the knees, but Henry can't wrestle right now and Show will end up working some gimmick match anyway, he always does.

I wish Randy Orton the person a speedy recovery. However I must say meh to Randy Orton the character, who hasn't been vaguely interesting in roughly two years now. Who knows, maybe this unexpected hiatus will be a chance at reinvention?

I never wish injury on any of these guys, but it figures that the one time he gets a serious injury in quite awhile is when he's not being shoved down our throats. I was taking a bit of liking to Orton again for this reason. Main event is fun and different - and that means a lot considering Big Show and Mark Henry are main part of that. Orton's in a semi-dull, but not too bad of a upper-mid level feud, and has been largely been toned down as "Smackdown's John Cena". Sucks for the guy, and it sucks for his home crowd who was probably really looking forward to seeing him at the Rumble.
Orton was rumored to be winning it, too. It'll be interesting to see what happens now.

I don't know if this is true, but I saw on some site, that apparently the reason this injury angle took place is because Orton failed his 3rd wellness test.
If this is true isn't it policy that it's 3 strikes you are out?
