People laugh about the Attitude era divas matches, but T'n'A' got those ladies over. Not suggesting WWE should go that way again, but even the talentless ladies of that era were over huge with the crowd vs the crowd not caring for anyone remotely talented these days Exactly right. Women's wrestling just isn't a draw in the US and A. Pretty much. The crowd will care for the odd woman here and there, but mainly as mouthpieces. The crowd dies for actual diva matches, even ones featuring the odd women they do care for. Kharma/Kong would have been over as a monster, but eventually that would have got stale and the only way WWE would know to go from that is Bertha Faye style comedy. IMO when their male undercard is in such a mess of apathy they should be focussing there, not on a division that is simply never going to be something for them.

I want more three minute matches and segments where the Divas' Champion come out and do commentary for number one contenders matches. Never gets old.

Women's matches can be a draw, as recently, two women are going to be headlining a UFC pay per view. It can be done, but it's how women's wrestling is perceived. Having a focus group like this is strange, and it does show WWE seems to have no idea what they're doing in regards to the women. It's easy. Have the women be taken seriously and then it's fine.

Yeah. I'm sure it's that simple. No chance that the women you hire won't get over or appeal to the crowd right? Because they've had such success recently with other divas they hire currently getting over and appealing to the crowd? Other than Kelly Kelly (bizarrely), AJ and Mickie James, which divas in recent yeas can be said to have actually gotten over with the crowd? AJ and Mickie got over because they actually had personalities beyond looking pretty and been an airhead. The divas division has always sucked because on the whole, they have the same personality. Faces - Happy, smiling, palling around with chumps like Khali and Hornswoggle and doing nothing else. Heels - Bitchy and petty It's boring. Whenever a diva shows up with a actual personality that veers from the norm (AJ, Mickie James, Lita) they tend to get over... at least as much as over a diva can get. As for why there's a mass exodus whenever the divas match comes on, why people call them "piss breaks" and why people fast-forward or change the channel... well that's obviously because the matches suck; which can easily be solved by hiring divas with actual talent and a wrestling background. Personality + wrestling skills + actual time for matches and feuds = people caring about the division again. It's not rocket science.

If they can't understand the problem with the division, I have no hope for the future. this

I've said it before and I'll say it again - just one simple change of gimmick to save the division: I'd mark ;D

Invest in a Delorean, go back to 2002 and get Trish and Lita, take them back to the present day and you're golden.

I think a lot of the women in the WWE have good personalities and are JUST talented enough to put on a solid 3 minute match. It's just the characters are TERRIBLE. If you just let them be themselves for a promo or two and not have them call each other a "witch" (CAUSE IT RHYMES WITH BITCH GET IT?) people might not use them for a bathroom break all the time. Look at the Beautiful People in TNA. I think they're ladies who, upon first glance, totally look like your standard bland, can't wrestle divas. But they put on some pretty decent matches (and some bad ones, but oh well) and they have fun with their characters. I don't know how a marky & macho male fan would react to something like this: I'd like to believe the crowd would be into it, because it is good wrestling, but there's a lot of fans out there who see the "divas" as nothing but hot chicks rollin around in a ring, and would shut this match off regardless. But I guess that's their problem, eh? EDIT: Also, embedding ROH videos isn't against the rules, is it? If so, just say the word and I'll fix it. My b.

Why don't they just get rid of it? Diva matches get 1-2 segments out of 27 per week (16 Raw, 11 SD), so it would be a minor adjustment at most. Would going back to 3-4 valets and a female interviewer really be that bad?

Do they really need a focus group to do this? A - Stop wasting money trying to turn talentless bikini models into wrestlers B - Actually hire divas who can wrestle, have charisma and stand out from the crowd C - Give them more then 1 minute a week to work and actually give them feuds and storylines There you go Vince, I've just saved you a whole lot of time, money and effort. A. sometimes actually works (Trish, Eve, Alicia) so I can't see them ditching this approach entirely.

NEWZ.
Don't care about the divas, get over it. I did some time ago. If they cared about them they wouldn't have fired or buried every single female post-Lita who got over.

This thread is the kind of thread gamers who are being called sexist can hold up and say "See? We're not so bad! Look at those guys!"

More bikini contests, more bra and panties matches, please. Oh, and throw in a decent 3 minute match every now and then so wrestling fans won't flip the f*** out. Not sure if being sarcastic....

focus groups are a waste of time I can imagine Vince getting angry "You wrestling fans don't know what you want. That's why you're still fans, 'cause you're stupid! Just tell me what's wrong with the freakin' show!"

Haha, yeah - focus groups are great for things like what kind of soda tastes better, but when it comes to something creative like creating a story/characters for a show - it usually does more harm than good.
