Booker T's debut at King of the Ring 2001 was cool. Just out of nowhere he attacked Stone Cold.
The debut of the Mexicools was badass too.

My favorite debut by far is Jericho, but since he's been mentioned...
I really liked Tajiri's debut. He had been on TV, basically begging Commissioner Regal for a job. Soon he became Regal's errand boy, and his character was pretty much a complete wuss, usually getting pushed around by Regal or some other wrestler. Then came Tajiri's first WWF match against Crash Holly. Regal's scoffs at Tajiri, and walks away, when out of nowhere... *WHAM!* Tajiri annihilates Crash with a stiff looking back kick. I very much enjoyed the unknowing WWF crowd's reaction to Tajiri's skills.

The debut of Val Venis almost ended his run before it began. He looked terrible in his match against Scorpio...er, Flash Funk.

I'd say Sylvain Grenier is someone who could not live up to the hype of his debut, and is the ultimate debut that didn't work.
At No Way Out '03, Grenier was the heel ref that screwed over Hogan to help The Rock win, per Vince McMahon's orders. When WrestleMania rolled around, Grenier was the ref in the match between Hogan and McMahon.
Compared to what he's accomplished since, he sure took a major backslide in his career.
