To me it really does seem like WWE is throwing Dutch a bone and that Swagger doesn't really need him. Still, I really hope it works.

Swagger's family and friends seems to consist only of random old-school managers and midcarders. Waiting for Uncle Tom Zenk to show up here.

Will the gimmick get over with the crowd?

He was in need of a mouthpiece. Pretty much this. He can "talk" but nothing he says sounds serious. If someone with Swagger's voice threatened to kick my ass, I'd probably laugh about it, even if he could kick my ass.

Just now need Uncle Colonel Parker to join him I like this idea, and I don't know why.

I'm glad they're going in a completely different direction with Swagger. He had little chance of getting over again otherwise. Give him a new theme now, and this could be something. BLASPHEMY! Now ... GET ON YOUR KNEES.

Will the gimmick get over with the crowd? They'll probably be faces in some parts of the country.

I second the idea of Colonel Parker, though I suppose in WWE he would be known as Tennessee O'Reilly. also I liked the 'Nam reference in Dutch's promo, cause it made me think of this

It's Zeb Colter, not Coulter.

It got very little reaction in Nashville. I know I've said this 100K times but I really wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being a 1 off, even if it wasn't supposed to.
It had the same effect as the pipebomb promo in that it got me to listen, in a "wow, they're actually doing this?" kind of way. So yeah, it was a good promo, but at the same time, it could easily end up a wrestlecrap quality angle.
Plenty of people are tired of politics and just don't want to hear it. It wasn't done in the campy JBL "JR Ewing" kind of way. It was pretty raw.

It's Zeb Colter, not Coulter. They originally put it on WWE.com as Coulter, now I see they edited it.

I think it's cool. They're rebranding what it means when Swagger calls himself a Real American. Before he was a goofy heel American. Now he's a raw badass American.
You can tell Swagger is all in now because otherwise he's toast.

It wasn't done in the campy JBL "JR Ewing" kind of way. It was pretty raw. While it was raw, it was also pretty non-exaggerated and delivered with a touch of subtlety. Plus, Zeb's attire and Jack's beard seem particularly thought out. There's few things I loathe more than when wrestling mixes with politics BUT, this gimmick doesn't strike me so much as politically leaning as much as drawing inspiration from an absurdly extremist fringe group, which I think is fine.
