Worrying about what a woman will be offended over is like trying to eat soup with a fork. The harder you try, the bigger mess you'll make.
That being said - when women wear revealing clothing I know they're not doing it for my or probably even a guy's benefit, but women will get gawked at for dressing conservatively as well so why shouldn't they just wear what they want.

to feel, or suggesting all of her choices in life revolve around finding the right guy, how about asking the offending drone in question to learn how to admire a fellow human with a level of discretion that won't be perceived as blatantly disrespectful.
The problem, though, is in the details. From the OP: Men should treat women with respect, of course. However, it's also a two-way street. When the issue is "women should not be forced to dress a certain way due to objectification", it's fine- but if the woman's mad because they only want people in their "league" to look at them, then the woman's showing disrespect in turn. Women should wear what they want. You want to dress revealing, dress conservatively, it's all up to the woman to decide how they look. Having said that, though, if you plan to dress to impress, it IS reasonable to expect you to understand that you won't be able to pick and choose just WHO gets impressed by it.
The problem with the article mentioned in the OP is that the conclusion is almost entirely incorrect, as most women aren't dressing with the intention of drawing male attention. They're fully aware they're going to draw it, regardless. Most of the time, such dressing is more about the fashion or impressing other women/people with an eye for fashion, not for sexual purposes. And saying "don't dress like a slut" is insanely misogynistic, I don't even know where to begin.

Doesn't bother me at all when guys check out my chest. It's kind of unavoidable, most styles of top/dress that I like to wear show off cleavage, so I just accept it. None of this 'who's in my league' business, every one can have a look if they want Same here. Some women pay good money for what I was blessed with naturally. Look all you want! ;D (I've been known to check out men's butts from time to time...so yes, why not make it equal?)

Didn't work for me. I can understand the viewpoint but I found the arguments emotional rather than logic-based. Felt too much like I was reading propaganda and what analysis was there was based too much on questionable interpretations of interactions. I could go into more detail but it's 4am and just don't feel like it. So it's propaganda because you don't agree with it? The article linked in the OP is entirely based on some wholly "questionable interpretations of interactions." I don't think emotion and logic are mutually exclusive, especially in response to an insinuation that women aren't capable of either. Thread should be bookmarked and reposted every time there's a "Why don't women like me?" thread.

I've talked to women about. Some women simply like the way they look and feel confident in a certain get up. One woman told me she didn't want to wear a certain thing she wanted to, based on the attention it could draw.
I was also told that it can go both ways, and women will look at men similarly to how men look at women, they are just more subtle about it. There is always a huge difference between a glance and a stare.
But yes, apparently sometimes a woman wears something because she feels like it, and not just for attention.

I keep wanting to try to weigh in on "society" topics like this, but then I find I never have anything to contribute that's really going to affect anyone else's opinion one way or the other.

What aggravates me about cleavage is the women can be butt ugly but if she's got melons a poppin' I can't help but look. It makes me feel weird because I'm not attracted but my maleness will not allow me to look away.

I'm a little more selective in whom I look at. Not because I'm married, but because my wife has female cousins in their late teens who are nothing like their momma (ie: lacking in the chest department). They're practically like my own daughters (the wife and I watched them a lot when growing up), I go all Hank Hill on them if they reveal too much. (Fer God's sake, cover those things up!)
I get a good look at the face before going any further.

Decent, well-meaning women and men have this thing called peripheral vision. It lets us check people out without making them feel like crap; we can still talk to them and look at their faces while doing so, we can still do what we're doing without gawking, and if we do comment on what they're wearing, we make it complimentary and a reflection on their good taste - "I love your outfit!" "The fabric on that shirt is terrific; where'd you get it?"
Anyone with peripheral vision and a brain ought to be able to master this technique (in fact, it's not even particularly a technique... I just knew how to do it automatically!) - maybe those who gawk at women and say it's justified because they're dressing "like sluts" could try it.

Eh, why not throw your opinion in? I'd wager that most internet debates, regardless of topic, do little to change peoples' opinions. Can't hurt to try, though.

If a man has gorgeous eyes to go with a nice butt, I'm pretty much a goner.
Just call me an equal opportunity female. I don't mind anyone looking, and I've confessed to looking. ;D

I've been to so many anime conventions and have seen so many women in form fitting revealing clothes that I don't even glance at the "goods" anymore. Yeah, this. You're better off never looking at anyone. Save yourself any kind of trouble.

I don't think anyone actually minds someone looking. Just don't make with the creepy face or think you can make unwanted advances. It's all about respect.
