I've been thinking this for a while now, but whenever Randy Orton walks down the ramp or cuts a promo, I can't shake the idea he's really, really bored. It may just be the heatless, joyless boring feuds with Sheamus and Show, but its clear his heart is just not in it now.

When you accomplish almost everything possible in the wwe by the age of 30, it gets hard to motivate yourself.

It probably doesn't help that they've stripped away all of his character. He's in a sort of perpetual upper midcard void, no character to utilise, no feuds to build on, nothing to say, nothing to do, never moving up nor down, just...there.
As much as Randy screwed up with the wellness failures, this is all on creative for me. Give him a gimmick and he'll work with it. Give him nothing and he'll do nothing.

But that is a big problem though because a lot of the time those feuds go around titles and they can't risk him with a title if he fails wellness again. There honestly is much for him left to do right now though

This whole thread is saying exactly why I he shouldn't be winning most (if not maybe all) of his matches against midcarders/upper midcarders with potential, like Cesaro and Barrett like he seems to be doing currently. Yes they look good in the matches, but he is getting the majority of the wins over them, when there is no reason not to give them the win this late in his career. As people have said he has done everything, he can't be in Cena's position and that is why he is pretty much an upper midcard Kofi.

I keep hoping that he'll get a major angle. He's so good. And popular.

Just give Orton the Intercontinental Title. If he gets his third strike, it won't matter because they don't care about the IC belt enough to book a lengthy program with it. In the meantime, he can give the belt a rub with what star power he has, and if he's just going to beat midcarders in meaningless matches anyway, at least he'd be doing it as a champion.

He doesen't have to win it, but a lenghty summer feud with Ziggy could make Ziggler a credible main eventer, and gain some lost luster back to the WHC

He's working for a company that is timid to push him because of his strikes, but he's not low enough on the card to forget about. So I expect him to be pretty aimless for the time being unless injury strikes.

Yeah, the best possible use of him right now would be to put Ziggler over definitively. They'd probably have some pretty great matches together too.

I know he's at risk for a third strike, but honestly would anyone really care if he was wellnessed as World Heavyweight Champion? I think too big a deal is made of that. It wouldn't really matter. If he's wellnessed for the 3rd time, it will probably get minor news coverage whether he's champion or not so they shouldn't worry about it if they actually want to use him.
I think it's more on creative. Randy is one of the seemingly endless list of guys are are just there doing stuff for no rhyme or reason.

He bores me more than he's bored of WWE. I just don't get why he is so beloved. I keep hearing how good he is, but his Five Moves of Doom are even worse than Cena's: stiff clothes line, opponent charges and he ducks (you think someone would realize it now), then scoop slam, the DDT off the rope with the stupid expression, fists on the mat, RKO. Wash, rinse, repeat. And if any of those moves get countered, he goes right back in the same order to where it was stopped. He's just one of those guys who makes me cringe when I hear his music.

I think it has been designed for the sole purpose of bring me back to RKO land. I have hated this guy and been as bored as he looks since they started the Viper shit. Now that he has been stuck in this void I keep wondering when the in the hell Randy will get a marquee feud again. His mediocrity has made me want more for him. Weird. Cause he bores the shit out of me.

I wish it was like the old territories and they would do talent exchanges with other companies, because I'd love to see him go somewhere else for a year or so and come back and be fresh.

His character has had almost nothing going on for way over a year. Same shit different day with him, week in and out. Plus a guy who I think got into the business not out fo love for it but because it was the family trade.

His character has had almost nothing going on for way over a year. Same shit different day with him, week in and out. Plus a guy who I think got into the business not out fo love for it but because it was the family trade. He's way too good at getting into character to not give a shit about the business. And the problem is that he's so over that they need to have him on the shows, but he's such a liability to disappear at any moment that they can't have him in any important programs because with one more failed test, he's gone for a year at least. (And he'll probably go to TNA for a while at that point anyway.) Creative needs to figure out a way to make him do something without placing too much responsibility on him. A feud with Big Show is not the way to do that.
