Same for me, I thought it fit very well and actually did a good job of enhancing his backstory as well.

On a related note, anyone ever been to this attraction?
It looks pretty cool from the footage there.

]I do mini-marathons with 1 through 3 every so often because those are the only ones I own. Occasionally I borrow the rest from the library and do a marathon session over 2-3 days. Each time I watch them I like them all a little more. I brought up Saw 1, 2 and my directors cut of 3 (the theatrical version is better) form my movie shelf in the basement and will do a marathon session of them at some point.

Before I forget, this is one of the many things that bugs me about 3d whose trap is the first one -- the public execution? {Spoiler} It can't be Dr. Gordon's as he kept an eye on Hoffman and Bobby the entire time. At no point in the movie does Hoffman he reference it.
Who did this or is it a plot hole?

{Spoiler}The public trap in question was just pretty pointless and served no real purpose other than to cram in more gore and another trap. Although in the script it appeared Gordon was present there to view it.

For anyone who's a fan, here's a neat little bonus, the Full Disclosure Report fake documentary from the first movie's Special Editon:
Kinda wish they had done more of those for the subsequent films. It's cool how this fills in some gaps not explained or touch upon in the first film.

I started my mini marathon back on the 23th with the first of the Saw films. I really like how by the time it ends Dr. Gordon is pretty much {Spoiler} all panic stricken like Adam was at the beginning. Likewise, Adam was as calm, cool and collected as Lawrence at the start of the movie. Today I watched Saw 2. {Spoiler}The safe being on a timer where Daniel is being held and the game being a video tape is sheer genius.

That twist in 2 took me by surprise also. I also remember being awed by {Spoiler}Amanda being in on it and the game in the house having been recorded before. Didn't expect that at all, nor the bathroom to return.

I just remembered that Welshy from That Guy With The Glasses was doing a Saw retrospective but sadly he's unable to finish it as he left the site not too long ago. A shame, as it was shaping up to be pretty good from what I saw of it.

He returned recently to finish up the retrospective and one last video and then he is gone...or atleast thats what I got from his twitter.

I watched my director's cut of Saw 3 earlier {Spoiler}it was a lot better than I remembered I did a wikipedia check to see the differences between my directors cut and the theatrical release and there were several as I thought because my copy is a shade under 2 hours long here they are en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saw_3#Home_mediait sheds light on how Adam died and the ending is a little different first Jigsaw dies, then Lynn and then Jeff plays the tape

I agree the DC of Saw III is better than the theatrical cut, though I'm not too fond of the slightly different ending.

None of the theatrical cuts are too different but you do easily notice the added scenes and more explicit gore in the unrated versions.

it occurs to me I've never seen the theatrical versions of Saw 3, Saw 4, Saw 5 I may have to rectify this well.........I did just that The directors cut of 3 is better for reasons stated above. 4 is basically the same movie. Same for 5. There is a little thing in 6 that makes me prefer the theatrical version {Spoiler}at the beginning the directors cut there's a clip of Amanda and Cecil together, which gives away the big swerve about the note Hoffman gives Amanda And while I was at it I completed the series and watched 3d again......and here's a list of question that are never answered some of which I probably raised earlier in the thread {Spoiler}
Who is running the game after the opening credits?
And for that matter the game that matter Bobby's game? It can't be Hoffman since he hunts Jill the entire movie. It could be Dr. Gordon however he keeps tabs on Hoffman the entire time.
How can Dr. Gordon make it that far to the steam pipe without dying of blood loss?
Is it even possible to literally glue someone to a car seat?
How does the blood all over Bobby disappear after the fish hook trap?
Where did the dust jacket from Bobby's book found during his game come from? John left his on the table at the autograph session.
Who are the two people who helped Dr. Gordon?

{Spoiler} 1. Presumably Hoffman set it up.
2. I think it's reasonable perhaps Hoffman set up Bobby's game sometime in advance before hunting for Jill and that Bobby's game was meant to distract law enforcement so he could narrow Jill down more easily.
3. He just moved quickly enough.
4. Probably a simply continuity error.
5. I suppose it was left over by John and Hoffman planted it in Bobby's game.
6. According to one of the commentaries it was Brad and Ryan (the two survivors from the public trap at the beginning). However the movie leaves it vague, it could be anybody.

Did anybody ever go to the Saw ride at Thorpe Park? It looks pretty cool from the footage I've seen, I'd love to go one day if I ever get to visit the U.K. You can view some good-quality ride POVS on YouTube of it, looks like it gets pretty intense.

{Spoiler}Spoiler I know I heard somewhere (from the director commentary, maybe) that the two guys at the end of 3D were from the trap at the beginning. Maybe Dr. Gordon put them there to see if they could be trusted. As for gluing someone to a car seat... I'm gonna say "no" on that one.
