I seem to recall hearing at some point that Vince hates pronouns for some reason. That would probably be up there if true. This is the man who's said to see sneezing as a sign of weakness, so I can easily see that.

Diva irritates me the most because it uses the word diva without being ironic. Diva is the only one that really bothers me. I can see the guy wrestlers calling themselves Superstars to sound larger than life, but why the hell would anyone consciously brand themselves a diva? If you want a cutesy name for female wrestlers, at least Knockouts works as a pun.

When JBL said "if you'd build a sports entertainer from the ground up it'd be Randy Orton" is the the only time it worked.
I would build him for that. Now a wrestler.....

"WWE Universe" would work if WWE didn't lock non-US viewers out of their Youtube videos. Not much of a universe if only one nation can watch 'em...

If they called them "wrestling superstars" or something I'd be OK with it. Yeah, they're not just wrestlers, like you can see anywhere, these are WWE wrestlers, the very best in the whole world, they're wrestling superstars.
I think that's why having guys like Regal and JBL are great for commentary, because they don't seem so held at gunpoint to use the same buzz-words.
And I'd never noticed "medical facility" before. I'll notice it every time now.
Not a use of lingo as such, but something that infuriate me is Cole's mocking of other announcers if they happen to reference things outside of wrestling that aren't from the last six months. I remember him trying to poke fun at Josh because he mentioned Back to the Future. "Uh, the 80s called, they want their movie back." Oh OK, Cole, because we can't have any knowledge of anything outside of this century at all. Lets talk about Gangham Style instead.

If you want a cutesy name for female wrestlers, at least Knockouts works as a pun. "Diva" actually works. Sure most people think of the word "diva" as meaning some type of entitled, high maintenance, bitch, but traditionally, the word "diva" is meant to mean an exceptional female performer, making it an appropriate equivalent to the male "Superstar". Funny thing is that even though TNA puts better effort into women's wrestling, "Knockout" sounds more like an "eye candy" term than "Diva" does.

It's not really a buzzword or anything, and it doesn't really fit with the topic, but I feel like mentioning it. Every time I hear Cole condescendingly say "Seeyabye" to someone, it annoys the crap out of me. It's so dismissive to a guy who is already being squashed or eliminated quickly from a match. Unfortunately the Miz also says it on commentary sometimes, but it's the most obnoxious thing Cole does, in my opinion.

Vince won't let you say the word 'him' or 'he.' I think the example Mick used was 'Mark Henry going for Batista's leg. Look at him going to work on his leg!' had to be 'Mark Henry going for Batista's leg. Look at Mark Henry going to work on the world champion's leg!'

Any word Cole uses to cover for the fact his knowledge of wrestling moves is severely limited. He rarely calls anything outside of signatures, finishers and moves people know the of name of since birth.

Michael Cole has a weird fixation on this kind of thing.

I don't think this is on purpose, but I hate when Michael Cole calls Jericho attempting the Walls. JERICHO, ROLLING HIM ONTO HIS BELLY, GOING FOR THE WALLS! It's a f***ing stomach. I hate when he calls the Walls to, because it usually means Jericho's doing something other than the Walls.

Not a WWE buzzword, but I hate when King calls a wrestler "young man."

It was almost hilarious to hear AJ's Zigglypuff reference completely fly over the heads of Michael Cole, JBL, and Jerry Lawler, who have a total combined age of somewhere around 140.

I know vince was infamous for it, but I hate how cole commentates 2 counts acting like its over, he makes it really obvious its not going to be a 3 count, cause he never says any of that when an actual 3 count happens (ryback squash matches not counting)

Let's see, I'm not a fan of 'Entertainment'. I actually kind of like the term 'Sports Entertainment', but I remember a year or 2 ago Cole called Edge & Christian "One of the greatest tag teams in entertainment history". So I'm led to believe Edge/Christian is a better tag team than Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis or Bing Crosby & Bob Hope? Or even Abbott & Costello?
'Divas' is another one that gets on my nerves. 'Superstar' not so much, but only when certain wrestlers say it (Looking at you Miz)
Finally, although this was only a one time thing, it was weird having John Cena announce that Osama Bin Laden was 'Caught and compromised to a permanent end'

They just don't talk like real people. They treat every raw like it's your first time watching and they want to fully indoctrinate you into a reality that insults your intelligence on a nightly basis.
And while we are at it. They need to stop that shit with the cutting to the audience while they are showing promos. It doesn't add anything. Imagine watching a movie and in the movie they cut to a group of people looking uninterested at the tv.
So my vote goes for everything from the words they use to way they make tem speak. It's just unnatural.

So, so agreed on the crowd thing. It never adds a damn thing besides a break in the flow of a segment and most of the time the crowd's completely sitting on their hands when it happens.
