We all know how WWE is very particular about its word choicess, from pretty understandable branding ones like Superstars and Divas to the outright strange like always saying, "Medical facility," instead of, "Hospital." A lot of those aren't generally received very well.
So, what's everyone's least favorite? For me, it has to be, "championship opportunity." It just sounds incredibly stilted and awkward, like something no human being would ever actually say. WWE Universe is probably a distance second when it's referring to the crowd; I don't mind it for branding purposes, but I really don't see the harm in just calling the fans fans. Then there are the times when it's confusing which one they're even talking about, like when they say something's rocked it.
Incidentally, I propose calling this sort of thing Rawspeak.

WWE Universe
I'm sorry, but it sounds ungodly stupid, EVEN for branding purposes.
It's like Vince (finally) picked up a comic book and saw "DC/Marvel Universe" and said "Hey, I can do that!". Except it makes sense in comic form.

"WWE Universe" should have only been used to describe WWE's social media presence.

"Belt" as opposed to "Title". 'Belt' makes it sounds like the wrestlers are competing over something to hold their trousers up.

I know I should be over it, but I HATE "superstars/divas". It just makes the whole product sound dumber than it is.

I hate when they call the "sports entertainers" too. I feel like people used to say that as a joke and in turned into a real thing. WWE Universe isawful too cuz no one can say it without botching it.

I was always under the impression that there was some legal reason behind them not being able to use "hospital".

"Superstars" sounds like something from the 1970's. "Divas" makes them sound like bitchy singers. Both stupid names.

Yea i've hated medical facility being used for the longest. Another was the overuse of skull a few years back. You get punted in the head!!!! There are no diving skullbutts. No bulldog skull locks. No flying skullscissors.

"Superstar" and "sports entertainment" don't bother me as much when the commentators say it as when the wrestlers themselves say it. It just takes me right out of it when one says something like, "I'm the greatest superstar in the history of sports entertainment!" Within the context of the show, I can buy commentators spouting corporate lingo, but it seems like the wrestlers should be talking about "wrestling." "Divas" makes them sound like bitchy singers. That's a big one for me, too. I always thought a "diva" was a very negative thing to be. They'd might as well say, "come see the Divas and A-holes of the WWE!"

"Entertainers" instead of "wrestlers", it's often painful listening to Mean Gene on Vintage Collection (ie Bret Hart is one of the greatest entertainers of all time".

I hate that WWE tries to call us as fans "The WWE Universe". When a wrestler is cutting a promo and they start going off about "I know it. The boys in the back know it. The... WWE Universe... knows it!" it just sounds so forced.

No flying skullscissors. I remember one time Michael Cole started to say "head" and corrected himself to say "skull." "Rey Mysterio, with that kick to the back of the he-SKULL of Chris Jericho."

Obviously the big ones being "WWE Universe" and "Superstars", I also find it funny the amount of adjectives they use to describe things. Not that using adjectives is bad, just that they don't need to put 2-3 or more in front of a word to describe it (one is just fine). For example (and as Mick Foley states in his "Countdown to Lockdown" book) you can't just say "land with a thud on the concrete" it has to be "with a sickening thud on the cold, unforgiving concrete". Or using 27 adjectives to describe the HIAC as evil, vile, diabolical, heartless etc. as if the cell is a person. Or using a bunch of adjectives with Randy Orton describing his snake-like personality/traits (slithering, stalking, ready to strike etc.)

They have gotten worse about this in recent years. Instead of fired it's "relieved of their duties". Instead of someone being kicked out of a group their "excommunicated". I know there's more examples but I can't think of atm but those are the two that instantly come to my mind.
