Presumably he annihilates Jericho at MitB so Y2J can get written off and go back to his band, and they play it up as Ryback getting his groove back. Then he, I dunno, beats up Kofi Kingston by showing an aggressive side we've never seen before, or something. He straight up quit against the Miz and then got his ass kicked after the match, there's no coming back from that. Even if the loss to Miz didn't happen, beating Chris Jericho doesn't make up for losing pretty much every big match he's had in the WWE before that.

Maybe Ryback's baiting Jericho, making him think he's more hurt than he is. Then at Money In The Bank he squashes him.

Hell, these days beating Jericho doesn't make up for the effort it takes to do so.

Jericho is getting the Goldberg feud from WCW? If Ryback jobs to front face lock the jig is up.
And yeah, it's baffling they've taken a dude who crowds were getting behind and just ruined him within a two month span

Tonight was just too much, even for a burial. Unless they're dropping the guy tomorrow, no way they would do something like this unless they had an actual plan.

The only problem is that beating Jericho isn't a feather in anyone's cap at this point, and even if that's the plan it still doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

I just said it was a plan, not a good (or even half-way decent) one.

Miz made RyBack submit? I picked a hell of a time to lose my cable. Must look this up on YouTube. Yeah, and not even to a submission, Miz did a running dropkick to his leg and Ryback told the referee to stop the match just like that, even Miz looked confused. For a second I thought the dropkick legit injured him and the look on Miz's face was that of "oh shit, did I just break his knee?"

Maybe Miz was shooting... I still like him, but the idea of a hard hitting Miz being someone taking advantage and stiffing a defenseless Ryback to the point where they had to end the match is f***ing hilarious to me. Of all the guys to pull a Brody, I wouldn't think Miz would be near the top of that list.

You have to like how with the WWE.com write-up on it they manage to make both guys sound like losers, through making it sound like Miz got completely lucky and had no prayer of winning until he did while making it sound like Ryback was basically crippled.

There is a difference between beating Jericho and destroying Jericho. Ryback beating the hell out of Jericho and pinning him in 5 minutes, and injuring him after the match would be a strong win for him. It's a silly way to get there, but they're trying to make Ryback the Cerebral Cyborg or something so he has to be unnecessarily cunning.

Ryback threw in the towel. To a f***ing low kick. From a reality TV star whose built like a high school senior. Well, that's it, isn't is? He's done. He has to be. That's the last time I get invested in a character on WWE television. f*** WWE.

Except that almost everyone in the top and upper midcard has already beaten Jericho. Hell, a total of about four people can say that they "retired" Jericho. Ryback could straight-Muhammad Hassan Jericho, complete with solemn voices and "medical facility" speak, and it still won't make up for the fact that Ryback choked for a year and, as of tonight, just submit to a goddamned transitional move.

Well my thought was that it was all a ruse, he only tapped out to mess with Jericho, lull him into false security, then eat him alive at the PPV. I can't say you're wrong in that it doens't make up for his other PPV losses, that's gonna take a while regardless of who he beats outside of Punk or Cena. I'm just trying to guess what they're doing with him. It can't just be a straight up burial, can it?

He's so damaged that they could make his match with Jericho a career match and the outcome would be in doubt.

...... You all saw what I saw right? That wasn't a hallucination? That actually happened? It's really scary, when you really sit and think that, a group of people who's job it is to be creative and write good TV all agree that's the next step for Ryback.... Now, I like Ryback, I wouldn't say I was a fan but I like the dude but seriously, who the hell did he piss off backstage for this? This is reaching Ryder levels of burial.
