Maybe they should stop pretending that the fat guy they just brought up from developmental isn't the same fat guy that was on TV every week a few years ago. Well if you're going to go that route he's not really either fat guy, he's 'fat guy' Windham Rotunda. Would you rather have had him come out as Husky Harris? Or do you not think he deserves to be on the show?

The people who chanted/will chant Husky Harris are never, ever allowed to complain about the "same ol' sh**" again. They do an incredible build to a subversive gimmick and execute the debut perfectly and the same dopes who have been wishing and hoping for something like that chant the guy's old gimmick name...and for what reason, exactly? To prove their knowledge of the product? To feel cool? I'm glad the WWE has already edited the chants out of the video on the site.

Nobody chanted Isaac Yankem though. Sad. Because back then people paid the money to enjoy the show, not be smarky douchebags.

That's a completely different context, as that's not the character he was introduced as and pushed as for months in front of live audiences and a national TV audience. Believe it or not, some casual fans aren't complete rubes and have memories that last longer than five minutes. When you get a guy who has a character, take him off the show for a while and bring him back, don't expect people to forget who he was, and don't expect them to pretend that he's a different guy, especially since the change has been brought about with no explanation whatsoever.

I think people are making too big a deal out of a minor thing that I would have completely forgotten had people on here not reminded me and will not mean anything in the grand scheme of things, as long as the Wyatts deliver like they should, but that's just me.

I think this meme has a better chance of ruining Bray Wyatt than the chants do.

2. Who the f*** remembers Husky Harris outside wrestling boards like this? Seriously. A lot of people. He was on TV every week for a long time. Has a pretty distinctive look too. That may be true, but he didn't really do anything that was that memorable. The only thing I remember Husky Harris actually doing was that one time on Raw when he stared directly into the camera. That's it. I believe he was also in the Royal Rumble when the New Nexus was still somewhat of a thing, but I don't remember anything he did in that either. His look was unique, I'll give you that, but I still don't think that I would've known it was the same person, at least right away.

I'll just quote myself from the Raw thread:
Of course the fans have the right to chant 'Husky Harris.' Just like someone has the right to complain or criticize them for exercising that right. It didn't bother me. I sort of hoped whoever created that stupid name felt some shame or guilt when he or she heard that chant.

It's one good segment stuck in the middle of a shitty show. One good segment does not a show make. The rest of the show being terrible brings the good segment down. A great show brings a good segment up. But WWE doesn't write their TV to have consistently good to great segments. It's a deeper structural issue that no segment or talent, no matter how interesting they might be, can solve when fans are bored off their asses (as someone who was at Raw 6 weeks ago) with the rest of what they see. Even during amazing shows talents like Tensai and Ryback still got their moronic chants, hell even Tensai got the Albert chant tonight and I can't remember the last time he got that. I genuinely feel that audience were chanting it just to be dicks. Though I will say seeing as this is clearly becoming a stupid trend where's my Dutch Mantell chant.

Let's keep talking about it, therefore increasing the chances of it happening next week!

I'm sure he'll be fine. I was surprised how loud the pop was when they actually entered the arena.

So don't expect wrestling fans to be wrestling fans of old but a new snark ire bunch? It is only a decades old practice of replacing guys without telling that they used to be here under a different name. Hell, that was a part of the fun for the longest.

People watching TV see a wrestler (who is advertised time and time again). 2. People ask "Who is that wrestler?" 3. People use the internets to conduct research. 4. Wikipedia tells them it's the same guy who played Husky Harris. It's actually simpler than it would seem. With the rise of twitter as a wrestling fandom mechanism, more and more fans are now internet fans, no matter how casual they may be.

Honestly with the hype that the Wyatt's received from the E this board would find something to bitch about. If chants of Husky Harris ruin his gimmick then it wasn't much of a gimmick to begin with.

Getting whipped by a leather belt as an initiation into New Nexus. 2. Shoving his ass in CM Punks face during the Royal Rumble.
