My guess is that Toure realises that at age 31, he and his agent know he has one big payday left, so he'll either push for a move using the birthday thing as an excuse, or pressure City to give him more money

Luis Suarez has apparently injured his knee in training and could miss the World Cup. Good news for England if true.

I was watching BBC Breakfast this morning and they seemed to think if everything went as expected he'd be back just in time for their game with us. Typical. Not that I like seeing players get injured mind. It's just, if he was going to get injured, couldn't he have managed to miss our game?

Saying that they still have Cavani and Forlan.

Suarez was one of the players I was really looking forward to watching this World Cup so I'm disappointed in that aspect. But as a Liverpool fan, him having a great World Cup will have more teams sniffing round him.

Are Uruguay really that good considering they finished 5th in South American qualifying having to play Jordan to get to the world cup?

Are Uruguay really that good considering they finished 5th in South American qualifying having to play Jordan to get to the world cup? Based on attacking alone, they might just be the best in the World. They have the big three of Forlan, Cavani and Suarez and other attackers like Rodriguez are pretty good too. Defensively though, they're not very good. The best comparison I can make is that they're similar to Liverpool from this season. Their attack can score for fun but the defence is not the most reliable.

Shocking that Donovan is not on the team, but at the same time, US fans have to remember that this isn't Landon from 4 years ago. This is a guy whose been insanely burnt out and even took a sabbatical to Cambodia last summer because he wasn't sure he wanted to play anymore

Australia's sending a mostly new team for this one too, with only eight players from the 2010 team in the current 30-man squad (Galekovic, Wilkshire, Bresciano, Jedinak, Milligan, Vidosic, Cahill and Kennedy). Not really expecting much in terms of results given we're grouped with the two finalists from last cup and a surprisingly strong Chile team, but I hope that we can at least not get thumped.

I am shocked at no Donovan, but it makes sense. Donovan wasn't going to be the starter even if he made the roster and I don't think he'd take kindly to being a reserve.
On top of that this would have most likely been his last World Cup anyways, and seeing all the young inexperienced(in terms of the WC) players shows they are planning for the future now as well.

If anyone fancies a laugh, one of the guests on Question Time next week is Joey Barton! Yes, Joey f***ing Barton. Alas, one of the other guests is that loathsome turd, Piers Morgan.

So when I watch Question Time tonight it will have Joey Barton on and I'm not going to hate him as much as one of the other guests? That's a shocker.

I reckon it's a genius move as you could put anyone on that panel and they'd seem likeable compared to Piers "Complete and utter c***" Morgan.

Ahhh my bad, I Sky+'d Question Time last night, haven't gotten around to watching it yet and completely misread your post. Thought you were talking about last night's show.

Question Time needs to die a death.
PSG to pay 40M to buy David Luiz. They must be having a laugh.
